My favourite from the compo. Several interesting effects inside like the cube transitions in the beginning, motion capture dancing and the final turbulence effect. Great RGB atmosphere throughout

I've been a Melon fan since the first time I saw Human Target. In my eyes they were pivotal in shifting the scenes focus from record breaking effects and more towards design led aesthetics. A real fuck you were gonna do what we want attitude but with the code chops behind it to back it up.
From me this comeback was something really special and such a great surprise when the beam slide came up. My excitement level spiked! Thankfully they didn't disappoint.
I love every bit of it. From the super bold left of field soundtrack, to the sync, to the coder color RGB palette choice, to the dancing stick dudes... just.. love.. it...
Now time to fire up the A600 and run this on repeat for the rest of the day <3

I think this is my fav.. Melon demo of all time. To me it is the winner. No matter how good the 060 was it is a different competition to me.

My favourite from the compo, the music blends so perfectly with the visuals, and the design is consistent and gorgeous throughout.

For me, this is the best demo of the Revision. A real Amiga demo with a normal size (433Ko) in a real .adf. It need a normal Amiga like a 500 or a 1200 to run.
The first place demo is beautifull but with a size of more than 11Mo and coded with a 68060 ! Where is the performance ? It's only a great multi files video made for a HD

I've watched it a few times now and noticed that the text messages will vary. I've seen the children's names reordered. And the messages I've seen after the zombies appear have includes stuff like:
"Don't be scared, it's just one and zeros"
"Not Zombies: Dan, Facet and Paradroid"
"You don't need a time machine when you have an A500"
I tried a little memory searching in Winuae and came up with nothing, but maybe someone else could fine all the variants.

Thriller on Amiga. Stunning physics, motion tracking and chip music by Audiomonster. Wish I would've seen this back in those days when I wasn't spoiled by AGA and way too much CPU power.

The sort of work of art that only demoscene can produce. The camerawork, the small references to things, the technical prowess. All stunning. And I LOVE the last effect, I would watch it for hours.
Nice return of Melon. Can't say I'm fond of the copper bar effects or the zombies playback, but the (hopefully) realtime physics of the cubes kills it for me. The last effect is a variant of the blitter tornado, but well executed. Overall, nice display.
this was so fun, and that whole dancing sequence was just flawelessly executed. What a delight!

Kings of sleaze are back, and they are packing form!
Cheeky text, great choreography, some novel scenes, all technically amazing.
But if there's one thing I hate about this demo is the jarring, epilepsy-inducing color cycling in the first half. It's very unnecessarily hard on the eyes. :(

Honestly, I think this should've placed 4th, not 2nd. But I totally get the hype seeing a famed group return after so long. And it does have that unique Melon flavor. Now to figure out if that cube physics is realtime or not. :)

The physics' boxes were so pleasing to watch, the last part is more of an artistic experiment than demoscene
IMO the best piece in the Amiga demo compo.

planet m. is a very nice demo but more a Movement demo branded as Melon. (since all members of Movement joined Melon) and Baygon was designed by the very same Walt as this new fresh demo so I don't see the point to mention this one as example.
Please keep you condescendant tone for you, your taste in demo are not shared by everyone, what is "clearly mediocre" here is only clear for you.

Was a fan of early Melon, didn't like the later Amiga stuff at all.. but this was a positive surprise! Make coder colours great again! Could've used more content, but maybe next time?

I've been seeing the last effect in various demos on various platforms. Some of you have already said it's "tornado" effect. is it the official name?
Can somebody explain this (or point me to a right direction)? is it a color cycling effect or something? It looks like a particle or displacement effect but on amiga, it's unlikely.

@ref: It's not colorcylcling, it's a blitter feedback effect. A derivative of the effect used in lchaosland and also know as blitter tornado.

Amazing! The cube scene is one of my favorite Amiga effects. So cleverly done. Is based on pre-calculated convex hulls?

Oh BTW, I noticed that it randomly crashe on my A1200 before the "zombies" part. Disabling caches / AGA / Fast / 030 doesn't seem to make a difference. But sometimes it works perfectly :)
