resistance is futile.
great stuff. watch listen thumb repeat
Good looking and entertaining, sweet soundtrack. Looped the same visuals too much towards the end and the text overlays were cheesy, still rules though.
Intense.
just what i expected from a smash and h0ffman combo, absolutely bangin', watching this feels like i'm transported to a smokey, laser lit nightclub!
JUGZ2016
A worthy winner of this year's compo. I really enjoyed the drive this gem generated both visually as well as audio wise. Very polished compositions and great choreography!
Excellent demo, something where the added megabytes are justified. The music style is hideous, but it can easily be replaced by just playing something else.
In your Face!
Massive.
....it's GREEEEAT!
well...
excellent
WOW. I wish I could have seen it on the big screen. The colors in this demo are just perfect.
NICE TEXTS!
even though i'm old resentful german fart, i can't complain at all !!
Holy h ell.. That was serious asskicking! Today's equivalent of State of the Art/Nine Fingers!
Flashing, driving, Cool :D
Flashing, driving, Cool :D
This was awesome!
Massive. Bangin'. Doesn't work quite as well at home as it did on the bigscreen and party PA, but it's still awesome and I won't forget the feeling of watching this right in front of the bigscreen so quickly.
CNCD in MFX epileptic style...or did I just saw Nine Fingers 2015 version ?
Massive visuals with fitting soundtrack.

Amazing stuff. Like watching a video clip on MTV or something. Best production by far.
this is a demo!
here's my thumb up.
not bad ;)
what a massive demo !!
State of the Dance.
Wish that I could've seen this live. Aces!
Oh, it runs fast enough even on average machine. Bravo!
Ellie Goulding - Lights (Fairlight & CNCD remix)
Seriously dope. Good work on the soundtrack. This demo gives a nice adrenaline rush :)
Straight up professional - that's the best way I can describe this. Everything about it (rendering quality, music, art direction) somehow conveys that the people who did it are really, really good at what they do, and the end product shows just that. Top notch!
<3
Haven't been entertained like that since grade school! :D
Fuckin' stomper, loved every second of it!
Fuckin' stomper, loved every second of it!
Great work guys, simultaneously exhilarating, dangerous and dirty. Worthy update to the State of the Art formula; loved it to bits. Particularly liked how you dealt with presenting texts.
MrDoob : Elie Goulding : definitly not.
I thought it's Usher Yeah! the source of inspiration here :)

That blob.... Seriously nice stuff in this one. Love it!
Like it bebes :)
Killing stuff ! 1st rank is heavily deserved :)
Artistically SUCKS.
state of the art in 2015. state of the art!
Of course !
Audio Visual Overload
@dex46... : You have rather odd standards. If your complaining that this demo lacks depth, you're not seeing the deeper meaning. There is none, or if there was one besides partying and in general enjoying life, I would say this demo might teach a thing or two about the degrading and repetitive effects of the partyculture.
Either way, saying that this sucks because of some arbitrary art-standards is missing the point. What you call 'Artistically' or 'art', is very subjective. I guess if they wanted to use opera they would have. Would it be ok in that scenario? Where do you draw the line? What criteria do you use?
For me, well I'm thumbing this up because of the lasers. Can't thumb down a prod that has lasers.

Simple bold concept, clean and solid execution and most of all, refreshing.
GOOD FUCKING JOB GUYS.
GOOD FUCKING JOB GUYS.
the dancers are amazingly well rendered, but i don't like the random disco ball. anyway it's still great to see your prod smash, great job ! thumb up
Destop + h0ffman ownage. Butchered the other entries mercilessly.
looks and sounds like excess demo.
boring, not my type of rave.

Nothing to add.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, guys. What just happened in my screen? You never fail to amaze.

@smash: sorry. I was too drunk at the party. I watched it a couple of times and really started to like it a lot. Lots of subtle details and polishing. Considering the gazillian cuts, it blows my mind that you can press space at any frame (accept the breaking disco-ball) and have the perfect flyer for a rave party.
not my cup of tea. ive seen smash demos that can do better.
Sorry, "dependencies" was for another demo.
Agree about the single theme, but it's driven and mixed up with other scenes for variety, and it's energetic with a suitable track.
Agree about the disco ball, although it would probably work with more filters. Everything works with more filters ;)
It's made in the compowinner style, and as such I think it's pretty much perfect :)

The best demo since 9 fingers
@numtek : I don't have standards, I have my own opinion which is independent from the crowd. And artistically SUCKS means artistically primitive, extremely poor in design and totally empty.
9fingers remastered.
You guys got better at something, I can't exactly pinpoint what, but you clearly reached a new level.
As usual the direction is solid, with the additional mind blower that here the editing is sick.
Great work.

I guess Sdw's comment articulates fairly well what I felt.
not entirely convinced but still
don't know what to say. dancing shit at the start of the demo looks really cool. but other is too repetative. will reserve my thumb up for further views.
Fairlight goes clubbing \o/ Watch on repeat.
Me love you long time... Cute as always.. greetz to janii...
Very much reminded me of this, but that's not a bad thing.

yes! awesome! yet be cautious for giorgio moroder attempting to steal this stuff though!
Love it when you guys incorporate dance moves
music is not my cup of tea but I guess it was the right track for this demo.
Love the dancing parts, and overall this is just (again) a massive demo.
Love the dancing parts, and overall this is just (again) a massive demo.
Nice prod, even though a bit disconnected. Lights everywhere, lasers, state-of-the-art dancing people and things breaking up… I don’t know, I just don’t like it. It sounds a bit “too much”. Effects for effects, even when they’re marvelous, don’t make sense and don’t touch me.
However, big thumb up for the technical aspect, and ultra big thumb up to h0ffman for such a nice track!
However, big thumb up for the technical aspect, and ultra big thumb up to h0ffman for such a nice track!
This is simply so f*ckin massive demo! State Of The Art 2015 or 9 Fingers 2015, pick your own favourite! =D Although we've seen dancing models already in their year 2012 released demo Spacecut, this new one is much better done. The sheer amount of work behind this must be huge! Direction, visuals, music, editing, etc... Everything is so well balanced and the audiovisuall attack from your screen, when the show starts, is just awesome!
A well deserved winner! :)
A well deserved winner! :)
of course this production is top notch, but the interplay between visuals and music doesn't fully convince me. the beat is a bit too slow for the dynamic visuals and what is shown is not varied enough for the musical details. the cocoon demo enthuses me more...

Absolutely massive production values, really well done in every way imaginable, kudos - that said, i totally dislike it for its music. Killed the demo for me.
What can i say? BAM!
So many cuts, so much direction.. fuck loads of work went into this. Purely EPIC! I can't get hoff's banging track out of my head. The volumetric rendering and physically correct lighting just adds so much atmosphere.. next level indeed.
Yes!
oh yeah!
i'd give it an additional thumb for really waking me up again after so many slow paced and calm tracks of most previous demos in the compo :)

cool shit
Awesome demo and next modern level State of the Art!
In the grand and awkward tradition of dance music video demos, this is a neat update of the laser and silhouette shows of old. A fresh and confident take on the rave demo genre.
such great visuals, my only wish is to leave that music style where it belongs - in previous decade ;)
This might be the most energetic demo I have ever seen. A track by hoffman, dancing and lasers, what more could anyone ever want!

It felt a little too long for me.
Yep! Yepyepyep! Ace stuff!
A little bit like »Spacecut II«, but in a good way, because »Spacecut« is one of my all time favorite demos.
Damn, I'm addicted !
I should stop watching this in loop...

I guess this is the PBR era. Great demo :)
This had strong vibes of three of my favourite demos: xmix, electric cool aid and 9 fingers. Everything works together so well; the technology is quite understated, so that you go "huh what was that, I need to see it again". Many tricks, wonderful, wonderful demo.
Any issues? hm, none. Timing is also perfect. Did it wake you up? I'm sure it did (after the brilliant but much slower and dark cocoon demo).

as i already said in person, thanks h0ffman for waking me up, and thanks for those brilliant visuals to all of you, i totally love em. :)
Technically impressive.
But else not my cup of tea. It somehow comes over like an overproduced loudness war competitor. Too much!
But else not my cup of tea. It somehow comes over like an overproduced loudness war competitor. Too much!
Yep. Looks amazing.
Looks really awesome, technically and design wise. A bit repetitive, a bit too much, but impressive and great overall. These 3D graffiti effects blowed me away.
This was super impressive on the big screen!
the letterings felt almost completely ripped from jugz demo from payback btw. end result was still awesome though
@dex46... Cool, if you state it sucks artistically based on your own independent opinion I can't ofcourse refute such an argument :) If you want to eloborate, I would suggest making a demo about it. Maybe show the crowd how a demo should be? Just a suggestion though. Thanks for explaining your point.
Delaquax
So polished, so great. Instant classic.
after watching it again: it's indeed the FATTEST demo i've seen for a long time and made me shiver and deeply want to attend a demoparty again! why did i stop doing this again? cdc well earned!
This is what a good PC demo looks and sounds like. Fast paced action, music and visuals.
Aren't the texts horizontally stretched on the official capture? Looks kinda bad...
Too impressive and banging to disregard even if not 100% my cup of stuff.
Actually the whole cap looks stretched, the disco ball looks like an ellipse, pretty sure it was spherical watching it realtime.
The text in the beginning kinda upset me, but then it went away. Massive stomper, I wish I was at the party to enjoy it on proper bigscreen+PA.
Lazers are the new ribbons. Thumb for lazers!
Well deserved winner for me. Loved it on the screen.
I would have appreciated a skull!
Perfect ending for a compo block full of psychedelic demos. :-D
Watched it a couple of times again at home, and I love it! It's cut so fast that I fail to recognize, let alone understand any details, which I normally don't like - but here it just works, and I guess it's not important why or how, the overall package is just fantastic! The energetic soundtrack fits perfectly as well.
Also something I can show to non-sceners, yay!

Enjoyable fast-paced action that was unfortunately a tad too repetitive. Still the deserved compo winner, IMHO.
Mind-blowing!
fuck yes.
An old-school feeling brilliantly remastered! Wow
JUGZ2015? This was awesome at the party!
Well done...love the music. I think the art direction and the effects are pretty awesome.
That's fucking style.
wow, i don't like the music that much, still this rocks. :)

I almost lost faith in Fairlight after that horrible real estate ad thingymabob a couple of weeks ago, it's all been restored now :)
unexpected and totally awesome demo!
at some moment the rendering is so great that it looks like some modern fluorescent japanese animation :)
great music by h0ffman, great colors, code and direction, an indiscutable winner :)

Really!! Cool!! Also the music is supertight on a cell phone speaker :D
HELL TO THE MEGA FUCK MY GOD YES
feels like a winamp visualization :) neat anyway
What Spaceball's 9 Fingers was for the early 1990s this might become for the 2010s.
The tagging style is magnificent, the tune completely nails the contemporary style of "mainstream rave" (is that a proper term ?), the silhouette dancing builds the bridge to the heydays of musical anarchy. Most interesting though are the text bits addressing social issues like the "fast forward procrastination" via facebook, instagram etc. "look at me, rate me, like me", which shows the difference to the days it harkens back to.
Best thing among that was the mentioning of High Fructose Corn Sirup among the drug listing ... totally spot on :)
In essence, although this is overtly a party banger that teases the pleasure buttons and sets the roof on fire, it still provides food for thought to those who are willing to let it sink a level deeper.
Excellent work

obvious references. Solid.
Incredibly awesome!
Something different, very polished, technically outstanding (but, yeah, what would you expect?). On the other side, I personally found it a dab repetive.
Doesn't change the fact that I totally agree this is one of the very few and far between prods that can be shown to folks outside the scene, which is also worth highlighting.
Keep em coming!

Success! Finally a smash production I like.

What just happened?
That blob dancing thing is so cool. Would have liked less glitch on the "State of the art" dancers though.
love it!
It's really good for the first minute, unfortunately later it becomes an untenable dubstep garbage, just a piggy.

Guys, could we take a moment to discuss the similarities between this demo and "State of the Art" / "9 Fingers"? I don't believe that has yet been brought up in the comments.
Our immediate reaction was "State Of The Art 2015"
More lazers!

Easter Eggcellence ... though I prefer Spacecut over this (hides)
I've had troubles to run the demo on 2 systems out of 3 I tried (crashes after clicking away the settings screen), both solved by deselecting audio autodetect once after which the demo runs fine with any setting, including autodetect.
Seems like I was right last time when I considered drug references in demos to be the new votebait mechanism, just like boobies/Vallejo-ripoffs used to be in old times. Apart from that, thumbup.
Compared to SOTA/9 Fingers this one at least features real code. :) However, I still prefer to boot the aforementioned demos on my good ol' A500 instead of watching this one. Music doesn't work for me (quite annoys me actually) and I'm not too fond of of the visuals either.
Not bad at all but I'm not as excited about it as most people seem to be.

I still find the dancing blobs kind of disgusting -- but they're lovely executed like everything else. Especially the tunnels with reflections, oh man.

HOLY. FUCK.
How you succeed in staying ahead of everyone else is amazing. Best demo I have seen in years! When you (smash+destop) brings hoffman into the game, nothing should be able to stop you. All three of you have, in my opinion, the last couple of years been put on a pedestal, but obviously, that pedestal wasn't high enough! Please kill the scene would you?

This is just WOW! Also great music hoffmann!
I felt this was a little long in the tooth, but I still loved the code and light effects :)

one of my faves from the party. fucking massive!

reminds me of amd's blobby dancer :) but those logos are sooo sexy! and that soundtrack (tho at home it doesnt sound as massive as on the party PA)
7/10
Something's not right with this one for me. I've seen it for the first time during prizegiving, being sober(ish) and didn't catch the hype. It's probably well tech advanced, judging by the faces of coders around, and about I surely couldn't care less. It's wow nice and flashy, but still something's wrong.
Shitty typography, played to death elsewhere?
Flow breaks by some strange element like breaking ball?
Too much 9 fingers vs. Edge of Tomorrow?
2 minutes too long for that amount of f/x?
Still couldn't decide. I've tried to watch this at home but gave up after ~90 seconds. Just not my cup of tea.
Congratulations, because it was a clear compo winner, but I'll stick to Media Error and Numb Res for best FLT and Killer/Cloder for CNCD demo ever.

The only Revision PC demo worthy to watch again. Nice 9 fingers remix.
Excellent. True masterpiece.
Blubby bodies and cool laserlines. Also gives me the empty feeling from a disco after too much lights and base, where the eat, sleep, raves, wtf questions comes up in my mind.

love it, although would have like to see the silhouette more gender define... If a girl (more like 9 fingers which we could see the hair or even a bit her face).
would like to read/see how the capture was made... :)
would like to read/see how the capture was made... :)
Visually it's pretty much picture perfect, but I'm really really disappointed in how cliched and "dumb" the music is. h0ffman can do better than this, and it's really not that hard to make a banging club tune sound both interesting and disturbing - makes me wonder if he had an off day or he got walled in by the brief.
Well done. I quite liked the music, actually. Also I enjoyed that there seems to be an actual physical space which the lasers (etc) occupy, nicely done that.
The only thing I could've done without are the discoball and those 2d texts but in the grand scheme of things that doesn't seem like a particularly large complaint :)

Decent on YouTube. :)

Sorry, was bored by this.
Wow. Im sure Travolta and Lonestarr and the gang feels this is a form of tribute demo. Very well done, and absolutely "State of the Art" in 2015. Music wise, I feel the "original" was more interesting, though.
wow, awesome.
90s rulez.
nice !
I'm not sure if stolen, but maybe derived... I came up with exact the same text idea during my whole-weekend videobeamer-installation at the tuM 2013. Just for you to know!
Won't thumb it down, a bunch of work obviously went in to this, but echoing Gargaj the music isn't anything special. The graphics are pretty good, but at the same time kinda "Look at meeee! Bright flashy colors!". But you're not going to be able to make something that accounts for everyone's tastes.
This was kind of anticlimactic at the demoparty. I honestly remember the 64k demos more than the those from the full demo category.

this is so 2011. with a good concept but a bit poorly executed, well you guys can do much better for certain so, piggy.
The tech is not so in-your-face as in other Fairlight demos but it is there and of course this is massively entertaining (if a little bit creepy).
a nice balance between an excellent execution and a wtf tribute.
