yup!
Stunning visuals as usual.
And a fucking serial killer soundtrack, hardly possible for 64k.
And a fucking serial killer soundtrack, hardly possible for 64k.
Some of the object movements are awesome, and the endless zoom is pretty great too, but I'm not a big fan of the rendering or the colors. Oh and yes, I like the music.
HOLY SHIT!
Quite is back!
kickass!
great! more music sync and psychedelic effects would make it even better
this was just a huge mess :/
Very enjoyable.
A little slow here but I'll blame AMD & Windows 8.
Great colors.
Great colors.
masters of teh werkkzeug!!1 \o/
Speccydelik colors! :)
Some cool stuff, but it's a bit too messy, especially towards the end. Still a solid thumb, though.
Quite awesome :>
i like the soundtrack. the visuals were not so well executed. tho my dutch genes do like the dutch color use :D
didn't crash, but wow, quite !
the screenshot promised so much more.. :(
The color scheme made me think of Spectrum demos. Lots of highly saturated red, green and yellow.
Can't say that I like the music much.. it had slipped out of my head like 30 seconds after watching the demo.
Overall a nice prod, so I think it deserves a thumbs up.

nice 64k!
what i see is what i like! Good prod. Video capture could need some polishing ;)
well, I cannot not thumb this (and the music was really nice), allthough I have to admit I was hoping for something bigger from Quite, damn you expectations!
Awesome stuff. I would've wished for a bit better sync (the track could certainly be used that way), but this is a minor gripe. Love it.
64k version fails to run here... the demo.exe on the other hand runs, but far slower than the visual quality would suggest (just a few FPS in some scenes) and the soundtrack needs much fatter drums... Somewhere between piggy and thumb up.
I like the grainy and gritty look of the graphics, but the zoom part was really too fast, so it appears to be messy, and many of the details get unnoticed because of the speed... I wish it were a bit more slow paced, as in zeo-x-s! Anyway, thumb up!
I said "thumb up"!
sick!
awesome :)
preston, whether v2 can do better drums or not is not the question here (I am sure it can with a lot of work and dedication), what I rather wanted to say is that the current drums don't do justice to the tune and the graphics.
brilliantly broken visuals, the good way! \o/ great work!
i like the drums like they are -> stylish.
intro is not really my thing.
intro is not really my thing.
write your own synth ;)
What gargaj said... and I can't get away the feeling that I've seen all that before. Cubes, glow. Been there, done that. The synth sounds like cheap FM.
I'd still say it's a good (and safe) prod.
I'd still say it's a good (and safe) prod.
as usual -> rulez ;-)
Runs okish here (Radeon 5650M). Nive AO, but I agree that this could have been even better with a fatter bass and better syncing.
Yeah, very nice.
Runs nicely (GTS450), and I like the scenes, sync, camera, movement and noisy AO.
wow
what gargaj said :(
Cool visuals but the cheap sound fails.
why y'all hating on this? pure style my friends
what p01 said
Though seemingly a smaller prod, this is quality, way up.
Really nice! What Weyland said :)
64KB is back
Despite camera going through polygons, this was fucking ace!
great work, great soundtrack ;)
Very nice!
Best use of cubes in a long time. I really enjoyed the camera movement. Didn't have a chance to listen to the soundtrack in full though, but what i heard sounded great!
Not as good as all previous material ... but still has the wow despite camera going through polygons.
fucking cool! and i'm a total fan of the colours, the noize and the mess :D pushing wzg1 to the limits
music vote.
fantastic! great use of AO and shiny materials. One of the best 2012 productions on the PC yet!
i like this dnb track actually but enough is enough.
Not bad at all
How can you seriously release such a visually nice production using such a mediocre soundtrack :(
excellent design inspired from acidulae
is nice, but you guys can do much better
oddly reminded me of struct by outracks. simple but very effective.
very nice visuals, although i must say youtube was very kind to it - the ao looks a lot rougher in the exe and the post is way overdone.

Really like the camera movement and shot layout, awesome 64k!
Just got around to watch this with sound. :\ the track is way behind the MASSIVE visuals.
Now if you could pull some of those visuals in a 4K that would be something.

Pretty nice :)
too much Demomaker + Winamp AVS for me. Thumb up only for the last zoomer scene
pretty good. lacks strawberries tho.
brilliant
struct on the right kind of crack and the touch of unc. Liked the "overdone" postproc!
nice!
Nice
a bit more reduced glow and it would have been perfect
i thought the idea behind infinite zoomers was that the camera path doesn't clip into the object so it doesn't reveal the "scale-backwards" trick ._.
Good stuff.
Some of the objects were a bit too lowpoly for my liking but i really liked the colors.
The cubes. They need more polygons.
:)
:)
Quite nice again, loved the scene with the sticks.
preston, does not behave like a dickhead. Russian scene enough only one Android Barker
I have been hypnotized via wireframed cubism and also...
Great soundtrack!
Great soundtrack!
I liked the geometry and the dynamism of the camera, but not the extremely saturated colors that pushed hue into narrow corners of the RGB space.
Overall, it's not one of your best. But it certainly has cool camera-moves. A very nice AO tunnel and some really nice ideas in the soundtrack. It does lack bass, though, and I really have to agree with saga on the drums part. I know it's V2, but I've heard better drums (especially the kick) from that synth. The composition and the filter-enveloped(LFO'ed?) sounds are nice, though.
But all in all, the production is solid and I actually like the design/colors.

Most of Teo's executable music entries will have, yes ... haven't got any of them around at the moment, though. But I'm sure they're on scene.org somewhere. His entry for Revision 2012 32k executable music perhaps?
You ... k0rnmeister by Teo for starters ...
You ~ Yup...
great.
I really liked AO in this prod, but it was extremely boring. Seriously, guys, my fingertips usually bore me to death but this time they turned out to be more interesting. A piggy, then.
Cubes o_O
Quite awesome 64kb

Utterly boring soundtrack, but the visuals were very nice!
gg.
+what gloom said.
..generic soundtrack, very nice visuals!

you fucked up our RGB <3
Of course yes !
Preston: k0rnmeister by Teo
It's mainly the kick I'm talking about. It's got a somewhat more punchy frequency distribution. The one in the intro seems bland compared to Teo's

really nice colors :)
I agree completely with Smash and Quisten here, this is Struct on crack indeed. :) I liked the color scheme for reasons I find hard to explain. I shouldn't, but I do.
Undislikable!
Preston: Well - I could use time to find songs where I find the snare or the hats to be better, but it's all just personal preference. Taste. What people like or not. But it'd be downright ignorant to insist that nobody ever made better "drums" with V2 than those used in this track ;)
RGB is not enough for this!
Enjoyable!
Enjoyable!
We need CMYK for this one.
I really like the first 10 seconds or so, and the colors are also nice. The rest is so-so, and the music is not my cup of tea. Still, not that bad.
as always, Unc and Preston kicks Werkkzeug and V2 to fly higher then clouds!
nfo thumb!
just kidding
just kidding
Rather poor.
great visuals, ok soundtrack.
Hell yeah !!
Love the rendering and colors!
Music is ok, but the drums are too thin. First of all it's possibly to do fuller drums in V2, and secondly there's been better drums in dnb-tracks in 4ks. I have higher expectations for 64ks than 4ks, deal with it.

Preston, do not fall into a discuss - your drums a perfect (especially hat). Also I like sub-bass. The high fq range makes the sound of this track kind of transparent and airy, so it works well with such visuals. Nothing can spoil this tune so much as gabba-style or goatrance-style bass drum. You did everything right!
Didn't pleased me much.

do not fall into a discuss
Preston, Really - it's a 12 year old synth, and it's had an amazing impact on especially the 64k intro compos and the executable music compos for ages. But take a look at what people are building these days. Gopher's 64klang, Sesse's Sanestation and revivals Quiver. I'm impressed with the stuff people still squeezes out of V2, and as I wrote in my first comment, I really like some of the sounds you created. I commented on the drums, not to mock your work but to give you an opportunity to improve, based on actual input and not just the usual "yeah, you rock, keep going and never change anything"-fanboy crap. I think everyone deserves respectful and constructive criticism to their work.
So pick a couple of constructive feedbacks from this prod's comments, decide on how to improve a particular part, and I'm sure everyone will benefit in the end :)

Great gfx but music sounds separate and thin.
Great color scheme! Music could have been fuller.

What a coincidence -- it's the exact age Preston is acting like :)Preston, Really - it's a 12 year old synth
nice intro with cubes!
well, that's some serious coder porn there!
i really appreciate the music as well, except for the very small exception of the drum sample that sounds a bit too wet in my taste.. little detail anyway, congratulations for this solid 64k.. :)

@preston: I've done both 4k and 64k, sorry that you don't like my music.

This means that you do not understand how it works.
Oh, I'm sure I have a pretty decent idea of the inner workings of softsynths, my good Mr. Preston ;)
But it seems you're completely ignorant to constructive critisism, so here's an altered version of my above comments:
YEAH! You totally ROCK - Never EVER change anything. You're to 64k intro-music what Sergei Bubka is for polevault ...
Ok
Preston, behaving like a cunt in your own production-thread have never done anything good them, just fyi.
travel in a stomach
i humbly disagree with punqtured on the drums. i really like the kick and the snare, and was going to write this before seeing the discussion. i was wondering whether they were sampled.
the whole thing is that they give the tune a different touch; less common, more, eh, humble. which i like, a humble dnb tune. my compliments!
i think the camera and lighting in the rotozoomer could've used some work though. i had a very hard time following what was going on, and only saw that it was a zoomer after quite a while.
pretty visuals otherwise, btw! i liked the way the general shinyness was done.

bulb@, you're an asshole.
@skrebbel : a r u mad, bro?
Nice 64k especially for fast made. Guys will you release k1's pleeeeeezzz?
lol
OKAY YES WOW THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
the drama is more fun to watch than the intro!! :)
lemme give a thumb up for preston's behavior!!!!
lemme give a thumb up for preston's behavior!!!!
Fucking brilliant :) Easily the 64k of the year thus far.
Cool effects.
cool
solid prod + scene drama = thumb
lug00ber, the truth is that second DIHALT in a row (this party held in a forest) i use your track from Norwegian Kindness as a background. I love this music but some other sceners at the party not :-)
Hot stuff.
But far from the best of 2012 as some people state. Each his own I guess.

посредственная работа, но как говорится: на бесптичье и жопа соловей!
mediocre work..
The camera going through the geometry during the last ~30 seconds felt unintentional. I didn't like the colors very much. The music was OK.
Le love.
energetic
I should add that I love the colorscheme and the over-saturated post processing.
ORANGE CUBES !
psychedelic!
респектoc)
awesome!
very good
Love it! And I like so musch these post-process colors!

This, in the sense of both design and technology involved.
The intro inexplicably dips to 10-20 fps in some scenes (like the opening) on a factory-overclocked GTX460 on 1024x768 and no AA; for comparison, cdak never goes below 35 fps on the same machine at the same resolution. Would have been a piggy if not for the endless zoomer which was indeed quite cool and ran in full framerate. (Oh, and the music did nothing for me this time.)
er, there's the thumb
Great trip!
(wouldn't start until I disabled my second monitor though)

great

great
yeah
LOVE the colours, smoothness and synch!! COOL powa!
This is a rare case where a graphist's colors can disturb a coder, instead of the contrary. The (near-)absence of any blue component on the geometry made it look like there was a bug and it was using the UV instead of the colors or something stupid like that.
But anyway, still a nice prod well worth a thumb :)

cool visuals, watched without sound so no idea about sound :0
nice nice
I can haz shaderz!
Excellent visuals, interesting post-process! Though the music-visual sync is not enough exploited.
Russian power
Not bad.
Good shit, could have used some more design in layouts/transitions and a meaner snare :)
Absolutely fantastic!
cool, but runs a bit slow
Intro not working, demo just in window mode.
just a bunch of random objects throwed at you with junk music
gorgeous movements
The 64kb didn't run and the demo version was kinda slow, low fraamerate. But hey, since you guys used werkkzeug instant thumb up :)
Great colors and motion! The song is kinda meh... percussion lacks some BAAM!! hihats so flimsy.. :/ but yea.. 64k.. Like it anyhow! :]
one of the best 64ks in 2012 so far.
i really like the color scheme and the excessive postprocessing. the soundtrack is also well done, maybe a bit too skeletonized for my taste.
One question remains, however:
why must there always have to be a drum & bass track in demo/intros nowadays? it seems like it is the only style, scene musicians can imagine in 2012..

How many Werkkzeug prods have I missed? This just had a black screen in windowed mode, but works fine fullscreen.
for the youtube vid.
runs on my machine only with <10 fps. no clue why.

i liked it
Quite cool.
I liked this alot, the last scene especially! And colors + grain was cool. Music was kinda thin sounding but good.
OVERSOME!
Last scene is totally brainfucking! Viva la Quite!

Cool! And making AO in werkkzeug is alone is worth a thumb (yes, seen from coder perspective).
stylish
I liked it also. Not the best from Quite, bit still cool.
Nice intro. The zoomer in the end would have been much more effective if the camera didn't clip through the objects though.
@ferris said:
well well well, you probably forgot some 64k intros featuring LEDBERRIES or VARIOUS TOYS...
Of course this intro is not bad at all, but (in my humble opinion) not the best of the year :)

Pig likes fritten cubes nowdays.
great stuff as usual :)
With the exception of the infinite zoom scene, I really like this a lot. Didn't really care about the drums; the visuals are fascinating. You could probably approximate this pretty well in 4k, but I didn't really care: it's good!
Everything a 64k should be
nice prod as always with quite
I really enjoyed this one although it feels a tad unfinished (and the drama is kinda overwhelming, but well... musicians..)
rez: The intros you mentioned are of course "more impressive" from a workload point of view but they're also Boring As Hell (tm).

Cubes <3
ok
cools
Impressive to see what you can squeeze out of deprecated tools.
I especially liked the "french fries" scene and te overall over-the-top post process.
But I gotta agree with the others about the drums - they really sound V2-ish and that's not good. You guys should try writing your own synth ;)
frame-rate was also everywhere from slideshow to butter-smooth, but hey, still worth a thumb!

almost excellent ;)
me as a coder has nothing to moan about, but the colors, others like them less saturated ;)

Font looks a bit ugly up close, but other than that - very cool demo! Cool shading and postfx.
Demo blackscreens here, but capture looks nice.

A werkzeug prod that just shows a black screen? wtf?
Rules all the way even though the framerate is wonky. Looks like Werkkzeug4 but runs on Werkkzeug1. Now that's an achievement.
Also, AO in Werkkzeug1 alone is worthy of a thumb. HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? Did you hack the Werkkzeug1 to get AO or something? Because I just can't believe it!

Nice
Roulaize!
Nice
superb!
holy shit
The @preston's snare definitely has a character, as well as its creator :) Well, it sounds like a tom a bit, but it is nice to have a different sound here, not an ordinary (and abused) d'n'b or dubstep sample.
I really like this prod.. I even didn't notice the snare is too synth here.. who cares it is very well made for 64k, I want to see more such prod in the future!!! THUMB UP of course.
Pretty visuals, but the soundtrack seems a bit weak (especially drums).
better than i remembered?? but it was about 20fps on a 1080ti for the most part, what the heck guys
love it
WOW!
so rad
Slightly better than what I achieved in wz1. :D
Runs great in 2022 at 1440p+AA!

there were cool ideas, but the music was just not it. the visuals also felt kinda disjointed
still love it
Nice werkkzeug1 streamkiller (would be nice having a higher-bitrate capture). Also, what dwarf said. :-)
