Batman Group is back? Video plz :)
AMAZING!!!
The BEST demo ever seen on CPC!
Batman group brings CPC in a new era!
Congratulations!

Congratulations!
Suggested WinAPE 2.0 A17 with settings as described goes to blank blue screen and stops (no drive activity anymore). Pitty.
Best prod. ever on CPC! Mega-thumbs up! This demo rulez! All others are child-play ;)
I HAVE NO WORDS!!!
This is for CPC what Edge of Disgrace was for the C64 and maybe even more (judging by your average best CPC demo before this was released).
First of all massive. I opened the archive and I was like WTF, three disks?
Then, the perfect design (similar to the Batman Vuelve in introduction batman screens), fast moving trackmo style, great transitions, lot's of surprises, then massive zoom effects never seen before, but it never ends, never ends, amazing dot records and more more and the style, the fast paced design, the ideas, THIS IS IT!!! And there is more..
Thank you for bringing this impossibility on our humble CPC scene and prooving that the CPC can do really real demos. You have raised the level of what an amazing demo should be 3 or 4 times, not only on the CPC. I am speechless!
p.s. I guess I have words to say. Lot's! :)

Quickly uploaded it:
Watch online in CPCInAJar
Sorry, FDC timing is a bit weird but the demo runs well!

Worked fine on WinAPE here (used the double-sided disk version). I'm not familiar enough with what is possible on a CPC so it's hard for me to properly appreciate it, but I found it an excellent show regardless :)
Really, really good demo.
First CPC with musical loading with the same tune from beginning to the end.
Thanks for doing this demo.
We have to do better now

O_________o ... excuse me, while I try to recover from watching this demo. I have three words, though: JUST. PLAIN. AWESOME. :D
Holy shit!
Any demo that keeps me smiling throughout is worth a thumb. Fucking amazing, best demo released this year yet.
Outch !
Amazing, jaw-dropping, breath-taking - I just cannot express myself on awesomeness of this demo.
Surely a king of this year 8-bit demos.
Surely a king of this year 8-bit demos.
amaizing!!!
YES! YES YEAAAHAAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!111111
seems like we have a winner
THUMBA
Fantastic!
Astonishing work, so well thought and compatible that it can even handle my own CPC emulator! :D
Now seriously, "Batman Forever" is to the CPC what "Edge of Disgrace" is to the C64: the newest best work for the machine. Chapeau!

Forget all you ever thought you knew about the CPC. This is the proof we were all dead wrong about it! :D
Batman Forever is a true eye-opening experience. Congrats guys!

CPC Pride, CPC Power!!
Truly a landmark demo for the platform. Also it's good timing for the release in the barren pre-Easter period, thus avoiding getting lost in the tumultuous stampede of other landmark demos due in the latter part of April.

Incresible trackmo, I loved the shiny drawing at the beginning.
I'm impressed. Best CPC demo ever. Vanity got vanited !
Wow, I think we can already name this one as a nominee for "best demo on an oldschool platform" next year!
Sadly I don't know all that much about the CPC-series of computers (other than what I can find on Wikipedia), but regardless of that - this must be one of the best demos on an 8-bit platform!
Also, if I understand things correctly, this is the groups first appearance on this platform? In that case - even more impressive!

Holy crap, what a comeback! :) Great effects, graphics and music. And I totally love the attitude too. :D All thumbs up!
awesome!!! and what Sdw said ;)
My 3 thumbs up! The bar wasn't raised. They kicked it into orbit.
...
I guess I have - after all those years - a new favourite CPC demo. This is absolutely awesome. Great demo!!!!
Holy shit. This demo just raised the bar into space for the CPC.
I totally didn't think the CPC could do that.

WOAH.
Outch !!! The war is open !!! Awesome !!!
Thanx.

Impressive !
Amazing!
Holy shit ... that was a damn demogasm!
My next CDC for sure.
My next CDC for sure.
classic Amiga-style demo. on a CPC. rocks!
Outstanding in every way!
Wow. Just Wow.
supergeil
Kick ass prod !!
What a design btw.
What a design btw.
Come'on, you're not fair. You cannot release this and expect anybody to release something thereafter. No matter which platform. This is so fucking awesome. I coded some of my first games on an CPC back in the 80ies and even normal text output was a nighmare with the build in screen memory layout.
Did I mention that this is so fucking awesome.
Did somebody see th roating bat sign.

Stellar work !
May I ask how long you've sat on this project ?

@d0DgE: batman vuelve was in 1995, so I assume they spent 16 years on designing this. Was worth the time, wasn't it ;-)
That was fucking awesome. The archetype of a demo, in every single way imagineable.
:O
Astonishing demo! Beautiful graphics, unbelievable effects, great music... it absolutely rulez!
Strongly need HiRes YouTube! Seems this is top CPC production up to date (for me).
This is not possible. Someone pinch me, i think i am dreaming.
I was thinking about visiting Forever. I should have, just to see this.
You guys just took the fun out of it for everyone else.

Great job ! Impressive Demonstration ;)
Whoa.
I feel bad for all CPC sceners now, they have to explain themselves for all these years of scroll/plasma/wobbler demos :)

Oh my god.. Cpc re-invented. Jawbreaker!
Amazingly impressive (special kudos to the graphic men).
Good lord!
:O
Yeah! Very well done... But don't believe that Vanity is dead :)

OMG ! This is the BEST CPC Demo...
Awesome news: Barman Group is Alive!!! : )
Really Great CPC Demo!! Amazing comeback! :thumb up:
Really Great CPC Demo!! Amazing comeback! :thumb up:
Awesome work, impressive results on a CPC!
Even not knowing the platform at all, I can say this is extremely good
HOLY SHIT BATMAN!
well, quite interesting :)
this is the demo i was saving my cdc for!!! totally amazing effects and graphics. soundtrack and fx synch is high quality as well. but who said c64 was better? we all knew cpc is superior but we were all saying cpc demos were not pushing the limits. now this one does. :)
.
"What have you been doing ?"
This demo has the balls, the style and attitude.

Awesome!
This is the best Demo !!! MOLODCY ! URRRA !!! Welcome TO ZX SPECTRUM !
Massive.
Whoa. What a show. Loved the graphics!
wow
I don't know the technical capabilities or restrictions of the CPC, but it's impressive that an 8bit machine can do all this. The design and graphics were outstanding in places too.
Such a shame the CPC has such horrible sound, but I'm sure the musician did his best.
Great show!

Great show!
What Wade said about lacking knowledge of CPC restrictions. Still, this one just has everything. Great looking effects, well pixelated gfx, good soundtrack, Desert Dream / Guardian Dragon 2 references.. and Batman! Batman Group forever.
Very stylish.
respect
As usual, CPC sound is lacking compared to C64, but this is so awesome in every other department!!
Awesome!
Superb
fuckin' great
Extremely impressive on all levels. Technically, visually, sound-wise and it's all put together with extreme care and style.
This is what all upcoming CPC demos are going to be measured against - and most C64, XL, Spectrum and other 8-Bit demos as well.
Congratulations.

Awesome!
Impressive comeback! Probably the best demo on classic CPC (not +) ever :) Hm... I have to see it on the real machine.
Fucking great design
great
oh. my. word.
Kicks ass! :)
Nice one!
Awesome in many respects.
More of this!
More of this!
So it was a mistake afterall to throw away the CPCs?
Well now, this is incredible! Stunning production, well done!
Fucking hell. What just happened? That, on 8bit? On an amstrad?? And you're telling me the framerate was LOW in places on opti's video?!
Shows some of the CPCs potential... =)
amstRAD!!
Yeah
AMSTRAAAD!!!
lovely demo! comeback of the year for sure!
Just WOW !
But I thought Amstrad was that slow platform :O
awesome
THIS is the only real fucking awesome demo on CPC !!
Really great, I just love it !
Thank you Batman Group for this pure piece of art.

Outstanding !!!11
This prod is just so amazing ! There's nothing far from perfect, it's just fallen down from Heaven ! Best prod I have ever seen on 8 bits (and maybe even 16 bits :)
Had one of these, this is the most stylish thing Ive seen on it.
Very very nice !!
Ace stuff! Any chance you will do something on the Amiga again? :-).
Really impressive ! Great work ! Batman rulez !!!!!!
This is Atari ST, right? Somebody please fix description... it says "platform Amstrad CPC".
Very nice.
entertaining...
@Rhino
Please dont thumb up your own production.
Not that it would matter in this rain of thumbs or that it wouldnt be deserved, its just "bad pouet style" (just so you know).
Apart from that, awesome demo of course.

You forgot the Hardwired references (credits part). :D
Finally found the time to watch it. Great design and grafix, good soundtrack (maybe a bit more melodic one would have tasted better for me but this fits here just fine). Codewise i'm a bit uneducated especially on CPC but oh boy! More and more classic effects and references from "bigger" platforms and with smooooothness even on that unofficial video! All thumbs and even a schlong way up!
just watched it in the emu again (only youtube before) and WTF, its even really much much smoother.. this is truly a masterpiece..
Holly shit ! that's huge ! but I think Hicks/Vanity is going to release something better at the Revision :)
Well, anything less that a double thumb up would be inadequate, but we can only single thumb up on pouet.
Seriously, great demo. Feel free to kick some ass on other machine scenes to show what can really be done :)

best demo made for 8-bit machines
Wow..
I don't have even the slightiest idea of what that involves to make such a demo on CPC. But what comes to mind.... WOW !
Most amazing!
Good attention to details & heavily inspired from Amiga demos (which doesn't come as a surprise). It would be nice to see CPC demos moving on and adopting trackmos as a standard format for demos in the future.
I think the starting part with the names & the booming sound is also inspired from Hardwired.

Fuck me, this demo kicks arse.
Ok, i need to see this beauty on my real CPC6128! I don't have access to the 5 1/4" drive for the CPC any longer to copy the disks myself.
Any one willing to send me this demo on 3" disks or bring them to Revision?
Thx in advance!

Excellent demo ! :)
@RufUsul: I will bring you a copy of the demo on 3.5" and/or 3" floppies at Revision.
@Grimmy: Thx! Let's swap two disks at Revsion ;-)
Cool demo! Who would have thought that there are still people out there who have the time and energy to create something like this?
Looks like a lot of pre-calculation though (e.g. the flying processor, the rotating skyscrapers and the rotating batman logo,...).
But nonetheless, nice cinematography and great synchronization of music and effects.
Kudos!

very nice demo
Now this is really good, respects!
mind = blown.
fan of the Amiga one, mega-fan of this one. Epic demo!
Instant thumb.
Now this is a demo!
Platforms that got 0wned by this, IMO:
- C64
- speccy
- Atari
...even Amiga OCS/ECS!

just what the 8-bit scene needs!
Very good.
Jeez!

Well well well. The first CPC demo with impressive routines I've seen so far. Drop the childish Batman stuff and start focusing more on the design and there is hope for the CPC scene yet!
Even better; interface a SID chip to the machine and get some quality sounds out of it while you're at it. ;-)

I usually don't go out of my way over 8bit prods, but: jolly good show folks! I don't care for plasmas and zoomers, but that 3D batman logo part was ace!
Very cool and well executed piece of art :-)
Comeback of the year?'
Fucking awesome. That what it is... Fucking awesome!
Fucking awesome. That what it is... Fucking awesome!
The... what!? o_O-b
Simply amazing!
Amazing And Awesome, welldone indeed :)
Great stuff!
great overall design
Impressive !
AMSTRAD BEGINS!
Wow. Just seen the video in YouTube, can't wait to test in on the real thing.
awesome
Now you have your own Edge of Disgrace ;) Fucking nice work on this platform, especially in 2011.
-!- O_o \o/..... Also: what Sdw said.
I was never a CPC fan, but this is simply great stuff. Very enjoyable.
Yes, this is a speccy-demo... all colors except blue suck and the music is totally limited to the hardware (and not bad for that) :)
The code of Rhino is massive. No doubt! Keep on doing, maybe without the batty man. You want to start a C64 war? ~8] Wassup? Wassup?

My C64 is insulted by this :-)
Impressive job ! A real pleasure to discover newcomers on Amstrad, our computer badly needs it.
Not too sure about the music (composition wise) but yeah, this quite stands out from most other stuff I've seen on CPC. Very nice.
Amazing!
Code = yes, Attitude = hell yes. We NEED more of this in the modern scene.
To muselo dat prace ...
<3
Very very very good demo.
Do not listen to Jope. I do not want to watch yet another demo that has the same design as every other demo. The Batman theme rocks!

I think it's actually very cool that a group comes up again in 2011 with the same, a bit childish but so what, theme and agenda after over 15 years and kicks everyone's butt
outstanding!
..great piece of art.. with that i have refound the cpc! and that good.
I added a webcam recorded video from a single disk version to YouTube. Hope you like..!

this is really, really IMPRESSIVE! Thank you guys.
Great!
Excellent...
THIS is what it's all about.
Very impressive stuff for an 8 bit machine. About time the Amstrad got a demo that showed off its capabilities. It certainly has better specs in most regards than the C64, but with the SID chip and the plethora of hardware tricks that have yet to be fully exploited, I still think we have the right demo computer :)
Well deserved
Nice
Yeah
Yes Yes Yes!
wow!
yay!
f a n t a s t i c
great job !!!
until now i never cared for the cpc, but i guess thats about to change... impressive!
Insane stuff!
great
The music has some good and bad but somehow, I'm sure it's done this way to save some routines. Anyway, this is killer CPC demo.
Congrats for a nice demo on that platform. Not that much static gfx screens (brick pixel), I presume the garish colours are to blame as it is hard to pull out something nice that is not cartoonish. The transitions could also be better and the sound is not the best but with an YA one can't ask for much better. Waiting for upcoming nice cpc demos.
I just added an interview of Rhino about this production. Feel free to visit my site www.norecess.net !
Oh thanks for the interview. Gonna read NOW!!!
Impressive and supernice as the demo may be, the 6000 dots looks a bit fishy to me.
It looks like it is drawing about a quarter of that, then leaving a trail of 4 copies or so unerased, then doing an erase.

Captain: This is Amstrad.
An interview with Rhino about this demo is online: http://www.norecess.net/interview-rhino.html
Yes, it's true about the dots leaving trails and counting them as a quarter both in the tunnel and the sine dots. It's easilly noticable from the very fist time, I just didn't mentioned to not spoil the impression for those who watch after me :)
great demo. great artwork!
The dots seem to be repeated 6 times, so the real number is 1084. Shadow still holds the record on 8 bit.
blop
As a Spectrum fan this pains me to say but...
AMSTRAD RULES!
AMSTRAD RULES!
Shadow's dots seemed to be symmetric (and not fullscreen too) but I never mentioned it then :)
nice
maybe the best demo ever for 8bit micros
imagine what batman group can do with the cpc+.
imagine what batman group can do with the cpc+.
@Optimus: I don't know what you mean by symmetric, but there is no mirroring or other tricks. I draw 1123 dots in Teen Dreams, and erase 1123 dots each frame.
You're correct that it runs in only a 128x128 pixel area though.
If we count fullscreen dots, Oxyron has 960 on the C64, and if Cruzers calculations are correct this has 1084, so that would be an All-8-bit-platform record, and impressive one as well.
I still think that would have been a nicer way to show off the routine in this demo by showing "proper" dots than leaving a trail with later erase. I mean, using that method you can have in essence infinite dots just by delaying the erase enough frames.
Maybe not the best place to have this kind of discussion in the comments field of a prod, but on the other hand some nice platform rivalry never goes out of fashion. :)

TRON
great one!!! and yes some hardwired inspiration at the credits..but this is nothing bad ..anyway best cpc one ive seen
wow
nice!!
loving it!
Ho btw, some of you have noticed that one of the music at the end is a cover of a Fajser/Rage module?
Insane! ( In the most postitive way! )
the CPC deserves more good demos like this!
Very impressive!
WOW !
love it !
Added a new video, captured from my real CPC 6128: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbGQxtbWkXM
Oops... well with URL: URL
good news everyone! we can now stop making demos on the CPC .. this is the end! and I am smiling cause it was not made by a frenchie - or even overflow ;-)
It's only a start. The frenchies are working on a revenge it seems ...
mirror, true color, particles forming objects and text, plasma, 3d... what else should I say...
Thumbs up!
Thumbs up!
Now THAT is what I call a demo!
I'm speechless. This is the best demo I've seen on an 8-bit platform. I didn't think that the CPC could even do 3D.
Of course, now starts the response. In the wake of this, prides that were left Wounded and bleeding must gather themselves up, and take the fight to Batman Forever (Which, in my own opinion, blows several segments of Edge of Disgrace into digital chum)!
You've more than doubly earned your thumbs up. In the words of the man himself: "You Win."

@sdw: You are right. When I watched your demo I thought I noticed something but when I see the screenshot of the dots on the pouet entry I don't see the mirroring.
All hail Batman, ehrm...Batman Group!
did you just redo every good Effect there was on Amiga500 and did it 8bit-Style?
plz do a Slideshow sometime and name it "Never liked Batman" <-- i disliked Batman forever until i saw your this very truly Demo! Marvellous!
<3 ♥

wowowowowowowow
wow
Simple awesome!!!!!
Nice flow, great sound & gfx and superb effects never seen before on my beloved Amstrad CPC !!! Set a new standard for 8bit demos and any new demo (CPC, C64, Spectrum or what ever 8bit machine you may throw in) will be measured against this masterpiece!! Let the 8bit battle begin!!!1111elfelf

Looking at this demo, the CPC's CRTC resolution and the fact the Rhino spent 1-2 years on it I'm afraid the battle ended right now....
wow! I´d like to see a live recording from the party to see how the crowd is going nuts while this demo was running on the big screen! \o/
Count on us to meet the challenge !!! But who else has the balls to participate ? There are only spectators on this site ?? \o/
(Yeah, I'm a real demomaker :) )

Woww, fucking great !

It might be timely to get an objective side-by-side assessment of the merits and otherwise of the CPC and C64 as demo platforms from a knowledgeable viewpoint. I get the impression that the CPC is not such an underdog here if people care to explore more closely!
Ruled the party!
incredible CPC !
Awesomeness!
Absolutely beautiful.
Very very nice :) Big Thumb up for this Piece of Art :)
Who knew it had it in it to deliver this kind of awesomness!!!
Started a BBS post to continue the C64 vs CPC discussion/war :)
Very nice, but it is difficult for me to assess it from a codeporn perspective. Oh god, this must be how people feel about C64 demos...
yes
fucking ace. super gfx. and all that with a stock z80?
i remember checking out the 4 mhz z80 on the c128. playing around a bit i found that it was slower than the 6510 on pretty much everything. true, more mhz, but all instructions were slow. it made no sense to use it and thus it was back to the 6510. my reference point may have been the 6510 in 2 mhz mode though, i don't remember.
anyway. not much computing power and great results.
and fun fact: they gave credits to good ol' optimus (wtf :))

uhmm. Awesome comeback. Hell YEAH.
Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking production!
@vibrator: well it was, just greetings :)
As for z80/6502 it depends on what effect you want to do. If your reference was 2Mhz 6510 then yes, in some cases it might be faster than 4Mhz z80 and in others slower.

ok that was just ridiculous... Holy fucking Christ...
Nice and long too. :)
Fantastic... and massive amount of respect to Batman Group. I still enjoy watching Batman Vuelve and well over 10 years later you guys return to produce another masterpiece!!
1- Watch it on a real CPC.
2- Consider it the best 8 bit production ever.
Congrats!!

Yes. Yes indeed.
Really amazing! :D
This has everything I want from a demoscene production.
very nice!

Drop the childish Batman stuff...
but it is there symbol/trademark...it has been for years. why should they drop Batman...we love Batman. Batman forever - bitch!
Let's hope there's more where this one came from ^_^
Totally awesome, genious..! Incredible possibilities were hidden until now. Amazing gfx and tune, c ongratulation.
i came just at the screenshot, and then..
I LOVE IT
This is completely spectacular. I had no idea the Z80 could possibly do full screen stuff at 50Hz. Way to go, guys. :)
One of the few quality CPC prods I've seen, nice work.
Amstrad... even better than the last!
You guys made me have the most awesome moment of my day. Thank you <3.
Very good demo for Amstrad CPC! It looks like a demo for Atari ST or Amiga!!!
In_cre_dib_le.
@Vibrator, the C128 has no 4 Mhz z80. From wikipedia C128 article: "Unfortunately, the C128 ran CP/M noticeably slower than most dedicated CP/M systems, as the Z80 processor ran at an effective speed of only 2 MHz (instead of the more common 4 MHz)"
Hardcore rulez!
Chiptune, plz!
Incredible!!!!!! thank you !!
I don't get the right words for it.... it's just fucking awesome! <3
Fantastic.
wow
love it!
Really good code (I guess, I don't know much about what's possible on the CPC, but the effects look better than anything else I've seen on the machine) and nice graphics. The music is ok but sounds quite uninspired to me, except for the intro which is excellent.
I have not been paying much attention to the CPC demo scene since 1997 or so... I just saw this on youtube and thought: Hey, someone is cheating using an emulated CPC @ 50x speed...
So I downloaded the dsk-image and fired-up my good old CPC6128... Having coded lots of demos on the CPC back in the old days (86-97), I kind of know the CPC hardware... This is f**king awesome!!!!

video is pretty nice due to 50Hz, but it´s got artifacts!
WATCH ON REAL HARDWARE!
after watching it the 5th time i gotta admit the music is most_best_fitting for that non synthesizer-chip! so GOOD JOB!

oh, shit, YES.
Enjoyable and some very good looking effects here and there.
<sarcasm>ohhh! a JS port of this, would be more smooth and optimized than this</sarcasm>
This is the real metal-shit!!!
This is the real metal-shit!!!

oha
A work of art! love the gfx and gotta love them dots!
Very good Rhino.
me likes.
!!
Jak: Diff'rent Strokes.
This prod is awesome !
sfx rulez hard
I appreciate some oldskool tomfoolery as much as the next guy, and this is indeed cool code and graphics. I just wish the music wasn't made up of the same three chords for 10 minutes. :)
!@#$
!
Ruled
Impressive!
Nice comeback...
Love it!
Hi Rhino, the new DL link on hotlink is really bad. Apart from the fact that is doesn't download as .ZIP (which it should). This prod should really be uploaded to scene.org instead. Stable links for cool prods rule.
WOW!!!
_bow_
not much to say, other than awsome work!
You can find a very big interview of the whole Batman Forever team on this Push'n'Pop page!
Somehow I've missed this thing because I've confused this with Batman Vuelve and didn't bother checking it.
Anyway, after reading all the comments I was expecting something at the same level as Edge of Disgrace, it's not that good. It has a great soundtrack, some great effects, and a really cool flow. It's specially cool because all the demo is done in overscan.

@xernobyl or chernobil or Yuko Shima

Cool. Dig the music.
I like oldschool.
sinus dots ruled
I've seen more about 8 bits/16 bits capabilities in dreams that I made awake about demoscene, keep the good stuff !
Awesome prod!
Impressive technical stuff with a very good design.
More demos like this one please :)

omfg!! batman group strikes back with a vengeance. everything that makes a demo cool is in here, great mood, awesome gfx, nice design, a shitload of effects, world records, great music and the attitude, yeah there are not enough thumbs to give.

i have just installed a 3.5" floppy to my CPC6128. all games and other demos i've copied to disk work ok. but i have copied Batman Forever to 3 floppies (720k) using CPCDiskXP v2.1 and it doesnt work. CAT doesnt list any files and run "disk does nothing.
are the file ok on this link?

batman comes in two versions
use the dsk for the 3,5 floppy
you will only need 1 floppy as it has special loader that can read the whole disc

break: well i tried the single .dsk version too. used 720k and 1.44mb floppies... tried all different combinations but it doesnt work. maybe the loader just doesnt like my disk drive. but its weird because everything else i've tried works. only this demo.
just a quick question: does the demo require a modified ROM? or should it work with the standard Amstrad ROM?
nevermind. i figured out what i was doing wrong. works great.
Excellent demo.
I was mostly impressed with texture twisting and elastic zoom.
Any insight on the CRTC techniques used for those.
I was in the CPC scene from approx. 1987 - 1992 and in the last year we worked a lot on CRTC effects, so therefore the curiosity.
As for twister is that some trick with register 2 combined with line rupture?
And elastic zoom:
I get how the vertical zooming is done, I did some trick with pallette shifting to do horizontal zooming (obviously limited scalling), this looks much better though. I reckon it's horizontal splits mixed with ? :)
Anyhow thumbs up, cool production :)

@NWC
Nice to see you again :)
If Rhino doesn't add in, I am interested in what you think to my questions. I am guessing the techinique is somehow related to what you used in the Unique big sine scroll - still annoys me I haven't figured that one out :)
I remember we could do 13 splitrasters, can you really do more scrollling splits or am I missing something....

I get it now.
Pre-calculated line per line horizontal data, displayed with line rupturing (and reg 9 rep).
Right?

this is incredible! very impressive!
Thanks Rhino for explaing the techiniques involved. It's rather impressive thought out, shame we weren't seeing this back in the days it would have evolved the scene massively from the zillions of hardscrollers and rasters that were cool back then :)
fucking great!
They've just played it at Euskal. It's amazing.
Best Amstrad demo i ever seen :>
Fan! AmazzzzzzzzzING!
Much better direction than Edge of Disgrace, I guess this is my favorite demo as far as 8-bit platforms go. Lovely music from Factor6 as well! Great job!
Don't really know the CPC, but seems impressive and is fastpaced enough to not be one of those oldskool demos that bore me to death by showing one effect for ages before moving to the next one
Although the name of the group sounds like a joke, there are some kick ass routines in there !
The sound just kicked ass on this one!!
What else to say ??? The best demo ever done on CPC old.
splendid !
Damned !
This is great :)
8 bits became 16 bits
still a faster cpu than 6510 though
Going over the public choice for Scene Awards 2011 I can't find a release that comes close to this. Never had an CPC, and I like the SID sound a bit more. But I think Optimus wrote it best:
'This is for CPC what Edge of Disgrace was for the C64.'
'This is for CPC what Edge of Disgrace was for the C64.'
"This is for CPC what Edge of Disgrace was for the C64."
i only just saw this. holy ownage, batman
Sweet
\o/ demo of the year
Very impressive stuff!
excellence ^_^
pushing old hardware to the limits with style - great!
wut
One year later, I still can't believe this is possible.
Amazing, Otstanding, breathtaking... every single aspect on this demo is unbelievable.

Very enjoyable, I specially liked the music from the plasma scene.
.
Holy fucking shit!!! this is ossum!!!
far too overrated.
Congratulations!!!
I am pure ZX Speccy fan, but can you tell me, where is my jaw after watching this ?
just fucking awesome ! Congrats guys !
Yes! wow... that was great demo!
superb
Better then the movies.
This is just one of those demos that makes you think 'the little CPC aint supposed to be able to do that shit' It's total awesome (I suspect some sort of deal with the devil or witchcraft personally)
Thumbs UP!
Greatest demo since ...
Definitely one of my favorites on an oldschool platform. Pure awesomeness!
Wish i had more then two thumbs on my hands!
Stirring the Amstrad CPC scene into action!
YES
just stunning. makes me mad my cpc got thrown away, and that was 20 years ago..
wow this is truly awesome!!
WHAT
Into the batcave!
best 8 bit demo ever?
^^o^^
Never understood why was this demo compared to contemporary C64 releases. Even in the demo itself, they ditch Booze about a better zoomscroll made on a platform which is at least twice as powerful as a C64 (except the sound, that is). I mean, come on.
Other than that, the effects are truly amazing (at least in comparison to other CPC releases), but the design is bleak and the seemingly converted/retouched graphics take out a lot from my general experience.

Great design!
Effervescent drink in code form.
DOPE CPC DEMO!
THE BEST DEMO OF AMSTRAD !!!!
VANITY SORRY !!!!
COMMODORE 64 FOREVER!!!!
VANITY SORRY !!!!
COMMODORE 64 FOREVER!!!!
Zoomscroll gave me headaches :(
Batman killed me. Massive demo, smart use of large data for fx and gfx, code using hw&software for 50Hz fullscreen fx,... Batman might be super hero, he's also a killer.
Great work.. makes me kinda nostalgic about my first computer being an Amstrad, had some good times playing, drawing and programming on that thing.. =)
what everybody said :)
It's always wonderful to watch those oldschool demos, pushing the hardware to the limit. It's almost unbelievable what those crazy guys from Batman Group managed to squeeze from CPC. Outstanding job!
linky HD Resolution
How did I not thumb this up yet?
But yes, this demo kicks butts like there's no tomorrow.
But yes, this demo kicks butts like there's no tomorrow.
It's taken five years for me to thumb up this one, but that's only because it's taken five years for me to pick up my bottom jaw from off the floor!
Totally stunning presentation from beginning to end. Amiga demo stylee on the humble Amstrad. Amazing!

forgotten thumb
just ... wow ♥
Was wondering if it is compatible cpc 6128+ and if there is any .cpr version (would love to put that on my brand new C4CPC), please let me know. Nice demo by the way =D
Please one more !!!!
Please one more !!!!
Compatible with 6128+: yes
CPR version: probably not, as this uses a custom diskloader and does direct access to the floppy controller

Thank you for the quick answer :)
One of the best demos ever made for any platform. Easily in my top 5 of all time.
wow
damn impressive !!!
damn impressive !!!
can't believe I never thumbed this one up here.
Fantastic!
Believe it or not, but I bought an Amstrad CPC 6128 just to watch this demo! It's absolutely fantastic and it made me love this beautiful little machine!
i'm not normally a a CPC person but this demo makes me want to be one
I'm impressed
i discovered the demo last year, i forgot to thumb, in order to rise a new level in thumb history ;)
BATMAN FOREVER !!!!! CPC4EVA !!!!! - this demos is FUCKING INSANE!!!!!!!
Please!!! I need more!!! Great prod!!!
Words cannot describe my respects for this demo
Nice and dark demo, a spanish scene classic!
La caña de españa ;)
Amstrad is alive!!!!
Not sure how come I forgot to thumb it up. Lovely surprise at the Forever party.
forgot too, awesome prod.
A true masterpiece in every way!!! <3
Breathtaking!
I knew it ! I knew it could be possible to code such great demos with a CPC :)
I remember clearly that evening. I sat in the partyplace and all the main compos of FOReVER comes to finish when Other 8bits category reveals this masterpiece. After atmosferic intro I stayed jawdropped and in the following minutes I went into standing ovation uncontrollably. Until then I have never experienced such a collective enthusiasm while the demoshow. True spirit of the demoscene.
No thumb from me yet? Surely gr8!
Great atmosphere and phenomenal graphics. Looking forward to the next Batman Group demo!
cool
Almost 10 years and still KICKING ASSES
great!
Just saw the demo the first time and am completely humbled about the great effects on a 8 bit machine. Shock and awe.
Impressive! One ace effect is chasing another. I like the P.T.Z80 screen:
A big Z80 flying towards you - which is always good - and electrons
flashing along circuit paths which is a really nice idea I have not seen
before.
I am so proud I once owned a CPC6128. It will be hard for the
Superman Gang to beat this ;-)

porn CPC!!
batman rulez forever
Truly the peak of perfection for the platform. Hard to imagine what could ever outperform it.
Pure perfection. One of my all time favourite demos across all platforms.
Patu Mies Ikuisesti.
Incredibly awesome!
En Commodore 64k las demos son más chulas.
Increíble
really nice...
a true classic.
Incredible!
Definitely one of my favorites ever
Absolutely awesome!
