I have seen many many intros from intro hitmakers like FR, Potion, TBL, Cryonics, Pulse and many others....when I saw this one I stayed with my mouth full open "Is this really 64k ? " .... One of the smartest intros I ever liked....total code as always by Ryg and Chaos.....unebelievable models and gfx from gIzMo and cool KB music with vocodered women voices..... ROXXX AS HELL !!!!

I haven't seen such a "kaupallista potentiaalia" -production since Boost by Doomsday :) .. Dunno if it's because of the tits or what, but I think this is my favourite fr production so far.

A little buggy at the end(credits), but very good atempt at organic modeling/animation and some of the vocals were really good!

A while back I found myself thinking how cool it would be if more demos made as much effort with sound as they did with the visuals. FR restore my faith in a piss-taking 64K. Rocks my socks.

Kinda nice looking, but once again I don't like kb's soundtrack that much(even if it's one of his best).

The case for:
- Amazingly cool music
- with amazingly cool vocoderthingy
- nice 3D modelling

The case against:
- Crashed my PC at the end (ran fluently though)
- Design way too clean (I'm not aiming here at kitschiness or anything, but the typical FR-style - just not my taste sorry)
added on the 2003-04-20 22:57:57 by vhiiula vhiiula
Just have to note againts my comment that, yes, everything in it was pretty impressive for 64k, but still no thumbs from me :)

it crashed in the end and the credits were buggy.

impressive sound, but not up to par with other fr prods, looks a bit rushed

very nice as always from fr... but personally, I liked fr.19 better. Kinda more flow and stuff happening in fr.19
added on the 2003-04-20 23:16:17 by nelius nelius
I liked this very much, but the last little bit is less interesting. But this is only a 'party' version, so who knows... But the vocoder, I personally couldn't understand a word (It is in English, right?), although the effort alone is fantastic.

rocks! nice soundtrack & nice nudity! I have the feeling that fr slightly ran out of time... or out of space. Credits were buggy here too and it crashed at the end (at least i thought it was the end), but still worth a thumb up.

But not much effects though. Anyway, a great intro.

the worst big 64K from fr... but nice song with the vocoder... to few models to make it very impressive

Near then end, right before the credits, the screen was black for about a minute. What's up? Was it my crappy TNT2? :)

Anyway.. impressive as usual... especially the sound. I don't know what was up with the naked model with the socks, but whatever.. :)

these colors are even worse than dutch ones
Music / Vocoder fx are incredible ... KB ownz !

And the rest of the intro is just as stylish : very clean color scheme, IMO. Models are high quality.

Much style in this intro, and i like it ...

Very good. It actualy ran on my crappy old PC too, which is a pluss.

Design is so and so. But very impressive stuff. Vocoding seems to be very inn again, and chosing to do this in a 64k intro now is good timing and good execution. ;)

Vocals (speech synthesis?), music and models were lovely, but I still prefer the older intros by farbrausch which had more effects/diferrent parts/complex scenes..

This is pretty pathetic for fr, althought the music is quite good. I expect much better from the final, including comprehensible lyrics ;) Don't let us down farb-rausch!

this rocks of cf course, the minor flaws are:

- it's practically just one scene with constant colour sheme.

- some parts are lacking animation and appear too static in general, which makes it feel like a simple envmap object show from 1995.

- that chick should immediatly consult a professional doctor about her feet!

after watching poemtoahorse I said to our coder that the next stop will be realistic human models with animation in 64k.. and there you go, (almost) realistic human models, animation, and even vocals. not much besides that, though, just some rotating cubes, let's hope the final will change it...

A very nicely done female model squeezed in there, the colors were just fine for my taste (and eyes) and, as usual, kb rocked my world. I am also against tits/nudity in demos (so sue me), therefore I would prefer if the model had some clothes on.

Somehow, the "blue room" scene needs a geforce to run properly, it blacks out on a TNT2.

Although I personally still consider APoemToAHorse as the best Farbrausch intro, this one's a definate number two, if only for KB's great soundtrack, which deserves the spotlight with its excellent voice coding (a step up from Planet Potion). The human model, coloring and effects are a plus. Farbrausch, don't stop your evolution. Respect!

alright.. well, i guess this is frickin' cool.. the music is exactly what i like and the fact a voice synth was squeezed in there leaves me in awe.. the model actually looks like a real woman (proportions are not stupidly out of scale) and because of that is the sexiest demo woman i've seen.. she does seem to have mittens for hands and gumboots for feet, but hey, i guess you needed those extra polygons for nipples.. anyways, great modelling.. the fact she looks so good and moves quite well keeps it from being too uhm, adolescently sexist.. so therefore, my only complaint is that the framerate is low compared to other fr productions and, of course, the need to reboot after watching.. grr.. but thumbs up for sure..

Didn't like it much... the nudity was a bit offputting, and there was just too little else to justify a 'rules'. The music... somehow the music failed to live up to the rave reviews I've seen here. Add that to the fact that it crashes and it's probably my least favorite of any Farbrausch production to date (!) (except perhaps ghettoblaster :-p)

plek: well your comment proves that you listen to me anyway.
It's just annoying that you always post these negative things that are so vague that one has no idea what you are referring to anyway, looks like you just get a kick out of saying negative things about everything and everyone.
You could at least be specific when you criticize, and try to give constructive criticism, I always do that anyway.
If you don't, you sound like a nitwit wanker indeed, and nobody should listen to you.

Seen both versions. Hmm, sorry. Nude lady theme kinda spoils it, gives an immature impression =)

If we ignore that part it has some nice scenes.. but.. I dunno.. it's missing something. It doesn't make kebbys tune justice! It needs alot more sync. Fx feels a bit sown together and the tune has alot more energy than the demo expresses.

scali: i keep wondering why you think you're in the position to say that. all you do is hang around on the net, contribute absolutely zilch, and cry about your favorite topics, such as subpixel-accuracy. please, get lost.
added on the 2003-08-03 00:18:57 by superplek superplek
plek: As a matter of fact I am working on a demo right now. Besides, nobody has to actually write demos in order to be allowed to post their opinions here. It's not like you have to 'earn' the right to say anything here.
As for subpixel-accuracy, yes I mention that sometimes, because I think that if you do software-rendering, you should at least do it right. So I try to give constructive criticism by pointing out to the coders that such a thing exists, and it can hopefully improve their next production. In this way I contribute, whether you like it or not.

Now it is more 'tron' than 'candy' and I think the music goes rather with candy. I miss the smooth objects from the partyver and the backgrounds were better, too. This 030030030... spoils the smooth design.

The final version got nice visuals but I regret that some of the party version have to go away.
The 030 thing in the backgrounds is really ugly, please, do a 1.015 version without this ugly thing...

Great, although I was a bit disappointed when I read that the lady is actually a stored mesh. (Not that this makes the intro any worse, but it just makes it seem that little bit less magical).

picked up direct x 9 for this. worth it, because this was a nice prod! I liked the idea of including vocals in the music, even if they were vocoded. I don't have anything against vocoded vox, if it suits the style, but I did just come from watching Volatile by Addict. Aside from that I really liked the chord changes in the music.

kb: I was first stunned to see a nude lady (ur, cheap;) but then i was *amazed* to hear the voice!

Can you give up some top-secret tech details?

Say, how much space did the phonemes consume in the executable? And how many phonemes did you need? Are phonemes compressed by some Windows codec? ;)
rulez added on the 2004-01-29 14:17:16 by eye eye
it's a synth and basically includes all phonemes necessary for english ;)

the complete list of fake-phonemes/"syllables" the text parser can recognize is "sil", "ng", "th", "sh", "dh", "zh", "ch", "ih", "eh", "ae", "ah", "oh", "uh", "ax", "iy", "er", "aa", "ao", "uw", "ey", "ay", "oy", "aw", "ow", "ia", "ea", "ua", "ll", "wh", "ix", "el", "rx", "h", "p", "t", "k", "b", "d", "g", "m", "n", "f", "s", "v", "z", "l", "r", "w", "q", "y", "j".

the required table containing the corresponding setups for the synth paramters is around 1.3k uncompressed, but full of zeroes, so it should compress very well.

that's ok, you can blame it on your conservative upbringing.
added on the 2004-01-29 19:27:27 by reed reed
heheh! so it's just setups for the synth? ;) That must be quite a job to get them right. ;) No wonder it's so hard to understand what it says.

sorry for not thumbing it up, though i like the demo, i think it's simply rated quite high enough, i can push it up when it goes down. ;)

Yo listen up, here's a story
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
And a blue Corvette and everything is blue for him
And his self and everybody around
'Cause he ain't got nobody to listen (to listen, to listen, to listen)

I'm blue, da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai I'm blue, da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai

I have a blue house with a blue window
Blue is the color of all that I wear
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my Corvette, it's standing outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think
Blue are the feelings that live inside me

I'm blue, da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai
Da ba dee da ba dai I'm blue, da ba dee da ba dai da ba dee da ba dai

Still my favorite. I ran it on my old 32mb Radeon, then upgraded to a 128MB GeForce FX 5200... amazing how much difference some RAM can make. I have this song on my MP3 player, too; the music and the graphics are equally impressive. You could shut off your monitor and listen... and be amazed that the music is in 64k, or you can mute the sound and watch the graphics and be amazed it's in 64k. Either way, it's simply mind boggling.

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

Today I'm very proud to present you another interesting 'mod(ification)' of surely one of today's scene-gems in 64k intro coding history...

After the unbelievable success of:
fr030-Candytron - THE MIX !!!

I'm glad to be able to give you this time:
fr030-Candytron - the CUSTOM mix !!!

(Of course only with the _official_ permission of the original authors... !! )

As the title might already tell...
This is the version many sceners already have dreamed of obviousely in many posts here in the prod-thread!
The best candy-scenes from the party-version mixed with the great improvements of the final release in _one_ hiQ-divx-video finally! ;-)

Well, it surely does NOT meet the rule of being 64k anymore though! ;-)
But well, for all who already wanted their 'personal' candytron custom edition...
Here you go, dudes... ;-)

Hope you like it as much as THE MIX then...
Have fun now and be sure that we'll be back soon again - for your pleasure only! ;-)

...C.A.P. TV - Your Scene Company! :-)

actually i wanted to refer to a certain excellent demo on a certain evenmoreexcellent computer, but i didn't have the time to do the necessary animations for the start- and ending sequences (plus we totally lacked the space). this reference is also the reason why there are all the 030's in there..it's an in-your-face clue you obviously didn't get sycini ;)

fantastic and all; firstly this is a hundred times better than fr-025, of course a miraculous acheivement in 64kb.

I must admit that in my messed up little head, the music just isn't to my taste/style. Also yeah, i've always had a bit of a weird paranoid complex against demos where people go "tits=thumbsup.period." hm... So, therefore I perhaps don't think of it as 'the perfect intro' (not as flawless as fr-08)

but what i DID like is the amazing screen compositions, including the incorporation of text; which is to die for - and probably the best i've seen in any intro. big thumb up and certain viewing tip

One of my favourite ones. The walk animation is a bit awkward but, 64k after all. :-) Great job on the voice.

I never really digged the style and the graphics of candytron, but the music is one of my favorites ever. Piggy.

I heard on Nectarine and later downloaded a vocal version of Candytron's tune. When was that made up? I love it. Thumbs up kb!

Heard the track so often and watched the demo multiple times, now it was time for a thumb.

I also made a Highres Youtube Rip
While ripping, I noticed that with current NVidia drivers and Win7 there are quite some graphic bugs. in WinXP with current drivers it ran flawlessly.

somehow cant connect to the tune and the color scheme is a little _too_ candy for my taste.
still a timeless classic, of course.

Somehow i love candytron... but in fact the score is the most remarkable thing in it (i still use it as a ringtone, i deeply hope kb won´t sue me), the rest is rather fast out of mind... except for the boobs of course^^

Didn't like it too much, but it's a nice prod and an interesting implementation of rudimentary voice synth in a 64k.

Sad to see that some of the best demos are broken or screwed in some parts on modern hardware... But still it is true masterpiece.

Maybe someone can make a high-res, low compression capture of the party version?
I can do it, but I need to know which software to use :-)

I'd say give it another 17 years, I'm pretty sure they are all still working hard on it.

I've been conditioned to question the "hornyness" here. Doesn't fit in with today's opinions. Disregarding that, it's got pretty good music and tech. Runs well in wine with dxvk.

Just found this while studying. Can't imagine how to do this.
Good taste with the camera movement. The music with speech synthesis is so stylish.
