Fore note: I'm not complaining. The prod was quite full of content, very pretty, and engaging. It is quite well done. However I'm going to guess some will say it seemed a little step down from the emotion evoking demo of last year. But, that is OK!
fan*ta*stic. kudos!
ASSUM!
Really awesome and a nice contrast to last years prod.
A little bit disappointing, rather unimaginative intro. We have seen all of this already. It's not bad, it looks like small exercise/etude, but yeah...not a blockbuster 64k,sorry.
Calm
Exactly what Starchaser said before, but still a really clean and cool intro to watch!
What to say.. totally blown away by it's style and the music... Awesome... just VERY awesome work, you guys rock hard :D
Started simple and became a great journey. And each time you think it's over ... pow! Best emotionaly joyride in the compo.
What an absolutely fantastic soundtrack, carries the cute visuals quite well. Goosebumps for the drumfill section. Well done again, all of you.
Emotional and kinda magic but I agree with Starchaser that last year's was even more emotional and magic. Not the intro I was expecting from Conspiracy this year but for sure your tech and visual style rocks. Special mention to the music, a beauty even in the hardest parts.
superb
Very beautiful, both the visuals and the music.
Kinda the exact opposite of your last intro, emotion-wise.
Great visuals, nice soundtrack, great buildup, loved it on the bigscreen
Definitely have to rewatch it at home

It's the most matured prod, style and concept wise from the compo. Might not what you expect, might not blow you away, might not win the compo, but it will give you goosebumps and something to think about and remember. Thank you.
not my kind of thing, but definetly nice 'story' and visuals..
Simple and effective.
very nice 64k. beautiful :)
cute
looks great. clean visuals and nice effects
fucking magical
nice !
A masterpiece.
Creating such awesome atmosphere and story out of simple geometric forms - only very few demos reach this level of perfection. Very powerful visuals and audio - for me the best production by conspiracy in a while (sorry chaos theory 2 didn't do it for me).

Kicsi rombusz, ne Vessz el!
Sweet trip.
it was very interesting to watch, seems it has some kind if story.
Gorgeous, grown up and flawlessly executed. I love this even more than "Darkness.."
i love the fact, that conspiracy always tries new concepts.
this time it’s cuteness and a very uplifting mood (thanks to the excellent soundtrack) that carries the whole intro. also…nice build-up!

great intro
great intro
Very nice
nice 64k, saw it on the revision livestream
Beautiful!
I'm torn here. Somehow I would really like to thumb up this nice intro, but...
I was bored. I kept starring at the particles coming out of the diamond and it just looked wrong (not that I really know how particles coming out of a diamond shaped 3d object is supposed to look like!) But somehow the particles emit from a lot smaller area than the diamond-shape - just seems wrong :)
I think the story is cheesy as hell. Well, at least you succeed in telling it - but I really can't help felling that you choose to go for this theme in order to please the "new" demands for story and direction. And I think it shows, and unfortunately it doesn't make the intro interesting.
So, to sum it up, you succeed in telling a story trough direction, visual and sound. It's just a shame, that the story you choose has been told so many times before, and it's getting really boring :)
Sorry for being an ass. Feel free to spank me.

Beautiful one. Worth seeing.
story of a lonely emitter.
Compofillers happen.
Great
Beautiful.
Wow! Stunning visuals. Music is also very good.
This is so smooth a baby's butt seems coarse in comparison!
The demo scene logic is quite strong with this one. I see the diamond with particles as a kind of demo force bringing more demo to the scenery so that it can go from wireframe to flat for example.
Those snares sound really like acoustic drums. Are they generated or is it compressed sound?

great work!
Smooth visuals, but some scenes stays on screen too long and makes it boring. Director´s cut needed.
Still it was impressive show

Something different
smooth, beautiful and somewhat emotional as well.
great intro.
great intro.
This is my favourite type of demo - very pretty and graphically impressive, with a very pleasant music!
I absolutely loved the solar eclipse, the fakeout endings, and the actual end scene too!
Though Offscreen Colonies is still my favourite demo of Yours - it was absolutely beautiful and had a line from Tears in rain monologue :)

beautiful
This was positively different and nice 64k!
Surprisingly emotional. <3
Really well made! Everything fits together. Some scenes are a surprisingly accurate recreation of the short film, but it has an additional layer of creativity in some of the scenes that really add a lot of value.
Beautiful.
tanz kleines pixel, tanz! lovely intro alltogether, nice mellow mood.
i liked it, pretty wholesome stuff. there were a few things i didn't fancy that much, but all in all this is excellent and lovely.
the direction is great & the music gave me a flashback of HJB - Fukwit Daddy with a dash of Fez and Radix, which is a good thing.

pretty !
Super pretty, stylish and emotive with excellent pacing. Ending nearly brought a tear :)
Would have won any other compo. As always, fantastic work! :)
Thank you.
Great stuff!
I like how the little diamond found some friends after a journey that was probably a bit lonely. Whatever it was that made its new friends emerge from that fog came just in time to give it new energy, it seems. I'm curious about what will happen next, now that it is releasing its essence <3
Happy, upbeat CNS ftw! :)
Does a demo 'have' to tell a story? Not necessarily, but if it's as well done as in this demo by Conspiracy then it can be a powerful addition to stunning visuals and music. It was very enjoyable on the bigscreen and goes along nicely with Offscreen Colonies at home :)
Beautiful!
Expected Conspiracy quality, but not really my cup of tea. Still deserves a thumb.
Great one with great audio!
emotional.
it just needs more balls guys next time :)
tentaculated hugs
<3
A beauty, enjoyed watching, and listening.
Beautiful and relaxing. Really nice tune.
Brilliant
Perfect all the way. The texture of the starting scene is awesome. And nice sounddesign, story and camerawork, too!
A pleasure to watch
ad astra.....
Now! this is something totally diferent, a billion parsecs away from the first qulified intro.
The music suits the progression of the visual poetry.
It's imperfect, unclean, and obscure.
Bright and sharp on the climax moments.
TECH-skills vs ART-emotions = WIN & WIN!
Balanced! brilliant!

YouTube: "'Vessel' This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Aldo Heriberto Arechar Aboytes." Vimeo worked which was nice.
Pretty slick and beautiful.
If you look at the link a bit more closely, you will see that it doesn't actually point to a demo capture, lol

Although normally a fan of yours, I ended up in the "wasn't impressed" camp this time. Maybe some expectation management on my part is in order, but this intro did exactly nothing for me.
^ This certainly didn't help me sway towards a thumb up, lol.

Looks and sounds very nice, should have been a bit shorter though.
Great craftsmanship, but it somehow feels like seen before. Maybe it's because the other entries of the compo were so strong.
fantastic prod.
Beautiful artistic story and great soundtrack. I like the stormy / rainy part the most. Ossom work!
Awesome as usual! :)
yes! Shine on little diamond!
btw, I LOVE the insane drumming in 64k <3
Reminds me a little bit of the conspiracy Zine headlines..
Anyway this 64kb could have a deeper meaning for some people watching it..
(i think :) Wonder what you come up to next year.. Some big in your face mindblowing scenes or more like this.. Thumb!

expected more after last time's "amazing" !!!
starts so so but becomes very nice. i love the screenshot scene! smooth and enjoyable 64k! well done :)
this is amazing! fantastic audio, great visuals, love the mood. outdone yourselves!
that looks and sounds very sexy! wonderful!
Very pretty and a good flow
Nice to see you could solve the issue with the authors of TWBTD.
I'm not sure what to think about this prod, I loved it during the compos and I still do, but I feel a bit deceived, imho you should've made it more prominent that this prod heavily borrows from an already existing work of another artist. Apparently you had the space to put your names in the end of the intro, but not to give credits to the original artist. Sure you may had it on the slide(did you? I can't remember) and in the nfo but still, images speak more than a thousand words... if this is watched from a youtube playlist nobody will ever know about TWBTD.
Sure you guys did an ace job with this intro, but I wouldn't have expected any less :)
For now I'll keep my thumb until I've made up my mind about this.

Visually really good. Musically not my cup of tea but gotta give props for those drums in the last section.

Based on 'THAT WILL BE THE DAY', an audio/visual collaboration between composer Aldo Aréchar (http://aldoarechar.com) and motion graphics artist Matthew DiVito AKA Mr. Div (http://mrdiv.tumblr.com), "Vessel" is a 64 KByte realtime short film by Conspiracy. First presented at the Revision 2017 demoparty, where it reached 2nd place.
Lie LJ, I loved it during the compo but didn't realize it was based on other people's work - I don't think it had been mentioned on the slide or in the intro, so hm.
On the other hand, it looks like it's not a simple remake but more inspired by the original with enough own creative work in it. Still, for a prod heavily relying on concept and atmosphere, I'm not sure yet what to think of all this... I will have to watch both again.

I can’t give a thumb down, because, hell, it’s an impressive 64k. But as LJ said, not crediting Aldo Aréchar and Matthew DiVito disappointed me. Almost all scenes are the same – even the opening roses can be found in the original audiovisual clip by Aldo. You had the place to credit both the two guys. Why did you not?
Having hesitated between a thumb down and a piggie, you’ll have the piggie, because it’s still an amazing work for a 64k.

Even if it had been an exact replica, it would still be damn impressive to pull it off in 64k. So I really couldn't care less where inspiration came from. The soundtrack is amazing, though some of the instruments does sound a bit "basic" (in lack of better words) - composition is really great, and really suits the visual impressions.
On the visuals, it's a really lovely ride, that captivates me, takes me on a journey and neve ceases to surprise and move me emotionally. Really great work by all of you guys!

Being inspired by other people's work is not a bad thing. Especially when it's done realtime and 64k.
God some people need to work on their reading comprehension

Btw. fuckings to you for adding (not only mine) prods without screenshots and [at for my prod] with wrong labels, while the authors are working on finals and video captures.Sure you may had it [...] in the nfo but still, images speak more than a thousand words
Saga Musix : Well, there it is anyway ;)
LJ: Maybe , but AFAIK the issue is solved. No need to keep shouting about it.
good artists copy, great artists steal, excellent artists do nothing and moan on pouet! the things that make this intro good (apart from the nice music) seems to be borrowed from that video, so, piggie it is!
It is a 64k (kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk) intro. Not a video. But looks and sounds like a rendered animation. Isn't enough for a thumb up? You guys are so spoiled. :)
it's amazing!!
and yes, while it's heavily inspired by that video, given that it's clearly mentioned in the .nfo, i see that as a good thing.
obviously this was far more work for you guys - trying to recreate someone's else complex visuals in 64k (and add some of your own scenes that fits nicely).

for bringing this into my life, for the bold move and for technical excellence, next time please credit in-intro.
I love how Conspiracy manage to now and then just release a quiet work of beauty between their heavier, high-concept or energy offerings. This is just a joy to watch and listen to.
On the "controversy": An in-intro acknowledgement would've been nice. We're mature enough for this now.

Recreating those visuals in realtime, in 64k, is already quite impressive. On top of that, this is simply a thing of beauty.

Almost all scenes? Hardly. There's plenty of similarities, I won't deny those. However some of it is just artistic choice such as styling of outlines and simple fills, so is any demo doing that need to cite That Will Be The Day?
Plenty of scene productions cite their influences and recreations in the NFO alone, and yet you only give Conspiracy crap for it? To me, this was excellent and is different enough to stand on its own. The music for both is great, but Conspiracy definitely made their own different tune and provided a better combination of visuals, sync, and entertainment factor as a single package. The "original" is nice, but I don't see the issue.

This I can see, though, since you can't read an NFO from YouTube. :)Omid: That was added after the original YT video got a copyright claim. ;D
On the thumb: I already gave that pages back. ;)
Beside all that, it seems they worked it out with Mr Aréchar and Mr DiVito, at least according to a comment from Conspiracy (hopefully that goes to the right place; never know, Google changes that around a lot).
Lovely intro and what kb said.
Awesome! Beautiful demo, the music, the atmosphere, really cool! :)
Gargaj
The music is awsome... I f***ing remembered my problems after the intro finished

My favorite 64k during the compo.
Loved the prod, visuals and music a perfect match.
Very lovely! I hope you'll do more intros of this kind.
And the music is perfect!

Great work!
Awesome <3, putting forward the original work would have been even better (I mean, in a way more visible than a comment or a nfo). However, I honestly love conspiracy imagination and was a bit disappointed to see that this creation was from someone else ... no offense. Will keep watching anyway
OMG the flowers!
Also: YAY to non-orchestral music, more please!
Also: YAY to non-orchestral music, more please!
Traditionally, artists have learned by copying other artists. And much art gains from building on and referring to earlier works. This is part of the strength of tradition as a thing. T.S. Eliot, in many ways a problematic figure, still had a point when he said (as I said to you at the party) "Immature poets imitate, mature poets steal". (Darkness did what I want to do someday, to capture a sense of a time in history and of emotions many people are feeling at the same time. ) Your craft matters, and you did more than copy. You added something. Also, the music really didn't sound like 64K music, it sounded more real. Kudos for that. This intro communicated an idea successfully. Take some satisfaction from that.
Loved the original, loved what you did here. Long live Conspiracy
Fantastic Works !!!

definitively that one touched me

Watched it the other day. Especially love the drum lights behind the clouds/smoke
I love it. My favourite PC prod of Revision, for sure, and maybe of the year so far.
The aesthetic reminds me of blank VHS tape packaging. This is a complement I promise!
I have no idea if you were doing it intentionally, but although there's been a lot of 80s/90s aesthetic demo art in the past few years, this is the first prod I've seen that actually captures what was in my head at the time without pandering in a way that veers away from artistic beauty.
Put that along with the moving music, and a light plot that doesn't absorb so much attention as to detract from the viewing experience, and it's an all around great IMO.

my favourite conspiracy intro so far. Lovely! <3
absolutely mindblown, no more words ^_^
beautiful
Vessel is all kinds of pretty. Well, actually, it's not all kinds of pretty, be certain fairly minimalist kinds. I mean, I get it, I get the metaphors and the symbolism and the distilled emotional payload and all that. But I struggle with coming up with anything to say about any of that, in fact, I have struggled for about two years now. The intro is too safe for its own good.
Visually it's typical Conspiracy quality. I especially like the near-orthographic canyon. I like the suspended flowers. My favorite visual is the brief breaking of the fourth wall just before the lull at about halfway through, where you see the whole realm from kind of a spectators point of view, revealing the ominous, tumultuous storm ahead. It's very brief I feel this is the shot that ultimately ends up stringing everything together, because every other point of view feels too idealized and choreographed for the audience to relate to the drama.
The ending is also effective. I love the editing there, the rapid succession of the shots is just right, wouldn't change a thing about it. The fact that you don't underline or exploit the sequence—like many others likely would've done—is the second moment of genius that elevates this above mediocrity.
I guess I'm ultimately happy that we have a production like this in the Demoscene too, especially as this is about as well done as one can reasonable expect. The real show here is in the execution, the details, the craftmanship. Aside from that it feels borderline hollow, even shallow maybe, but knowing the people behind this (and having talked about the motivations behind the intro) I know that's not really the case. I guess Vessel just falls a bit short for me in communicating something beyond the mundane for me.
