Third time in a row at assembly demo compo, kewlers' demo manage to be my personal favourite. Definitely should've won.
Should be first or second. Very nice idea to dig up the old particle bobs and spice them up with 3d acceleration. I did not like the color theme, though. (mud, earth, blood.. bah)
I don't dig Kewlers prods _that_ much and this wasn't an exception. Cool effects but as a whole it just didn't cut it for me.

i really don't understand what makes kewlers prods always rank so miserably at parties. this was a great experience on the bigsreen - especially because of the sound.
maybe it was a bit too long and please say that using those textlayers was meant to be irony but apart from that it's a great prod, should have won and stuff...

I feel this one should have ranked higher, but I didn't pay the several thousand US dollars so I could vote at the party. The particle systems are definately tier one. Once again kewlers raises the bar that others must reach.

now this is some serious rock'n'roll! I read people comparing this to "protozoa". while this is true in terms of the somewhat biological theme, to me this rather looks like "variform 2" with its in-your-face-effects and driving demoflow.

i think we have here one of the best demo ever seen... with a good track, with a good idea, with an incredible style, with amazing visuals... with no polygons, with no shaders, but with something over material power... 100% rulez... perfect... i'm not english so i can't find enough words to qualify such a good prod... but it's great, that's sure !!!

Good demo, but the effect in the screenshot is a bit overrated - 2D sprites on top of blended 2D layers for the tunnel. Planet Risk was much better (and they have a similar effect that looks awesome).

built around a single fx, it's already tired when reaching the middle. Yes, they can blur textures. And yes, they can do GREAT music. Feels like a waste for such a powerfull tune.
Yeah, graphics are great stuff. The song is too typically Prodigy without nothing really kicking ass but the breaks. It was different by the partyplace-equipment, yeah.

lovely stuff.the particles are funky and so are the effects.the soundtrack is one of the best tracks in demo-history (even if it's bigbeat). great producing.
this could of been *really* good without the crappy texts. the music wasn't really my taste either. if it had been made in the same style as typo for example it would of been a major rulez. give us a remix!

This actually runs ok on a shitty onboard intel graphics chip, despite throwing up a "you have a shitty gfx card" error. Extra thumb!

this is the quality we've learnt to expect from kewlers. pretty much everything said already - killer fx, massive soundtrack (although bit too monotonic for my taste) and bad gfx. a final release with -nostupidtypography switch would be nice. :)

I remember enjoying this years ago, but rewatching it now time has not been kind to it. It relies very heavily on selling a novelty rendering style, and has very little to offer beyond that. That's OK, lots of demos are like this and I agree the sprite effect still looks pretty cool.
The things that ruin it for me are small, like the childish text about shit and sperm and the tacky portamento "bowee boweeeeep, bowee boweewoo" synth in the music that ruins an otherwise great track. I think nobody paid much attention to this stuff when the demo was new just because the rendering style was so eye catching, but I can't help noticing it now.
Seems like the voters at ASM2004 agreed.

This has quite a lot of memories bound to it,- testing my amp back at the dorm - highly drunk getting to the loo (keeping the volume on loud) having this playing at demoscene.tv - coming back from the loo, yelling "THIS IS FUCKING KEWLERS!" at 2 am, friend in the room just nods. That fucking bass, gets me all the time :)

somehow the two tunnels ("take a ride in my alimentary canal" and "urho kaleva kakkonnen") are not displayed on modern hardware (win7 x64, i2500, amd hd6850), rest of the effects work fine. oh, and it doesn't exit at the end, had to kill the process
