I know from reliable sources that the demo (until the final version atleast) only works on GeforeFX and above.

I rewatched it sober here at work on a GF6800 and i still like it.

This is an extreme-partyrelease. Due to lack of sleep, it only runs on hardware that supports pixel-buffer-objects. A final version that runs on ATI-cards too is in the works (just needs some shader-tweaking now). The demo does require ps20-compatible hardware.
added on the 2004-07-26 11:23:46 by hornet hornet
Um, I thought it already did work on ATI. The compo machine had one.

i liked some of the scenes in this demo was quite enjoyable... like the "wooden" tunnel. The music kicked pleny of ass at the big screen! however, there were better demos in the compo that diserved this rank, like Solar - Push the tempo. This isnot worth 2nd place but still not a bad prod at all! keep making 'em!

And here we go. A final, ATi-compatible, version of the demo has been created. Beside hardware-issues, looks and timing in general has been adjusted. See readme for details.

This is our first coded demo. The basic framework was created during spring, and the demo was "finished" in about two weeks just before SceneEvent where it was released.

The final version has been uploaded to scene.org/incoming/demos (please move the file and update the link on this page). Until the file becomes available from scene.org, it can be accessed from http://loopit.dk/releases/loopit_goes_demo_(final).zip

Hope I didn't crash any machines with the partyrelease :)

there are good parts at the beginning... but after a while, it was so ugly and boring it made me sick...

really nice, the two last parts had some REALLY nice sync (altho far from perfect), and it looked fun. bit too much repetition and stuff tho.

Strange, i did not remember that scene with mushrooms, but who cares anyway. I like the demo.

I've added an ugly grab of the demo for all those with no pixelshader hardware. It's available at

Great work - good code, cool music and nice design, the scenes could've been a little more coherent i think - but otherwise.

Thumbs up across the board! See h0rnet, you had to make that video version ;-)

Watched it again yesterday, and it was a lot better than my first impression of it.. Still a tad boring, but it has some nice parts. (And since I'm me, I don't think I'm allowed to bitch too much about the colors.. )
is there a tangible reason why you use a boomtown-esque logo?

gamers :)

watched the video.
well, nice; but again, you don't need pixelshaders to these type of stuff...
rulez added on the 2005-01-12 07:17:06 by blala blala
Yeah, and it could be done in software too! You don't need hardware acc. either ...
added on the 2005-01-12 08:18:11 by thorsten thorsten
Indeed, we don't need vertex- and pixelshaders to do these effects, but it allowed us to prototype them quickly and handle highly detailed objects.

I would have liked to do a ps1.x port though, but I think it's for the common good to focus on the next project instead! :)

Cheers,

looked cool, but in the middle of the demo starting at the credits-part it became incredibly slow with constant 1fps and probably some graphic errors as well. geforce gt6600, win2k3, amd 2500+
i just assume it's a weird bug, i quite enjoyed what i saw hehe
