- Got my hands on a laptop able to run it...
To anyone complaining of the blur: it seems to be framerate dependent, I watched it at 320x240 and it looks way better.
Some really great modelling / animation and also great lighting. But the textures looked sucky where i could see them. Some effects worked well, others sucked (the green wireframe + pixel zoom would have probably looked great if filtering / line antialiasing was enabled...) Effects were also used too often. But i guess that if they weren't people would just diss it for being a flyby :)
Tune was ok, not great, but good enough I think.
Overall, it was a great intro, perhaps slightly too flawed to be a classic. - rulezadded on the 2003-08-26 11:03:44
- demo Windows the Jackson five by Kewlers [web]
- I liked this. COuld have been better, but it was still good.
btw, i've seen an artist doing the same type of pics as the black and white distorted ones, using a fat naked middle-aged woman and a large piece of glass :) Modern art sucks :) - rulezadded on the 2003-08-22 15:44:00
- demo Windows the Jackson five remix by Kewlers [web]
- Was not as good as the original, somehow the extra noise/distortion killed it for me.

- 64k Windows fr-08: .the .product by Farbrausch [web]
- Wow, never commented on this??!
FR-08 was a massive milestone for the scene imo. Before, nothing had come close... the complexity of the scenes, the beutiful textures, the amazing soundtrack....
Sure, it was perhaps a little boring, just flybys over and over, but that doesn't detract from the pure technical greatness of it! And don't forget, this gave the farb rausch guys the tools they needed for the later intros like poem to a horse!
Also, if i still like this demo 3 years later, it must have something special other than just the code...
Major respect to farb rausch for making this! - rulezadded on the 2003-08-22 13:19:58
- demo Amiga AGA lapsuus by Maturefurk
- I remember watching one demo on amiga like this, and it really was just an mpeg :)
Good to see it's possible in realtime! And a nice production too! - rulezadded on the 2003-08-21 17:43:47

- Thumb up just for pre-empting optimus's scroller length record attempt.

- wild Wild SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive sega 32x demo tape by Zyrinx & Lemon
- I didn't know the 32x could do stuff like that. Reminds me of too many amiga tech demos :)
And I think it's been too long since anyone used a good voxel engine... - rulezadded on the 2003-08-21 14:19:27
