Purple design for ever :)
added on the 2000-07-30 15:17:40 by lord k
The Perfect Demo.
well, it's a PURPLE+blasphemy, most of the design was done by thorsten/PURPLE... it's of course a really great demo !
This demo is really great, all design is clean (antialiased). Some original ideas. You must watch it !
it's unbelivable to see state of mind and kkowboy at the same party. this 2 demos have 2 very different style but i love them. kkowboy IS pure design and a pleasure for your eyes
Good electric lines design, and the wireframes too!
blasphemy have terrific design (at least their windows demos) and I think are the best code-wise in the scene along w/ komplex. I don't see how it could have come in third. All their demos are very polished; love the antialiasing.
Very nice presentation. This demo is useful even if you're not info demos and the scene, it's an enjoyable relaxer after a busy day! =)
Nice visuals and good audio.
Nice visuals and good audio.
after this demo, you know the design demos.
one of my favorite ones! your eyes will never be the same after watching it :)
wireframe/flatpolygons/designstyle but has some interesting effects (Like the great one in the screenshot or a tunnel with radial mapping, or another hairy ball thing and more..)
Liked that too a little.. (you know that I don't like such kind of demos, so the fact that I like it a little, means that you will like it very much! ;)

They greet Tesko, that means kkowboy "has it". The Tesko blessing will live forever. Oh! yeah! the demo... yeah! way cool.
very good design, the true definition of a newskool demo, i love the last tunnel with lots of colors like a church, this demo is a must see !
i must vote for it.
They realy know how to design demos! I like the splines and the tunnel-zoom-blur in this demo where cool. Cool music.
I really like the design in this one, so clean and simple =)
purple and blasphemy lead the pure flatshaded-style to its perfection with the creation of kkowboy. very minimalistic and absolutely great!
could be my very favorite out of Blasphemy demos (and... maybe Purple too? ;)
the music is very moody and so is everything else. roxxorz!

kk.
a prequel to an even better demo, Moral Hard Candy which is even better in my opinion.
One of the few wireframes it somehow appealed me. Nice curved blurred/color lines
Some very nice design with a great look.
Good.
sucks
Fantastikk.
kkool.
what? no comment from me yet? well, this is absolutely great, especially md's music. you *have* to check it out, one of the best pc demos (although i prefer mhc, but there's not a lot of quality difference).
.Kkudos

Almost perfect design.
magnifikk!
smooth and clean
Quite very nice... Its consistent and manages not to look that 'old' (unlike so many other flat/wire/nu-media/'look mum, i know how to copy mtv style' -demos)..
it's timeless.
a coherent minimalistic package, beautiful deep colors, wonderfull atmosphere once again created by md's music. really what could be best done with his music.
it inspirated and gave a design orientation to many demos released during the last years.

what a kkute demo.
Wonderful ...Super effects.#1 in my demochart
a fine example how simply anything can look good when done with a decent palette :)
of course when i see this now (for the first time in my life) it looks like utterly horrible nu-media-crap, but probably it wasn't it in 1998
and of course, i would give thumbs up for three minutes of blank screen if it has md's tune in it :)

nu-media-crap?
drop your prejudices.
it doesnt matter when it was released, beauty for all seasons!
raaaaaaaaah blasphemy ok but then, we all can recognize that purple touch in the design!!! som eof the scene even reminds me their great "plastik" demo.
then, music by md so just perfect again ;)

i even plan to change my nick...

rockt
Hmmm... very nice and soft look.
RRulez
Simply a must have when it's about design. Purple and Blasphemy brought it back to the PC scene.
Great design, cool engine. Definitivelly a very good demo that has inspired lot of others since its release.
IMHO, one of the best demos ever together with Moral Hard Candy
the mother of all design demos - should be in top10
remember to vote for this
.i.love.the.colours.and.the.overall.feeling.and.gekko.is.right
Wireframe flat minimalistic trend demo, but some effects are very nice in here, like the feedback splines in the screenshot and more I don't remember (Even more than a year to watch this). It's an old clasic similar to Moral Hard Candy. Where are these blasphemy guys btw???
Ohh,.. I already thumbed up this
such a classic. the "danish-design" shines through. :) optimus: "trend demo"? it was done in 98 - ahead of it's time? :)
good one. dezign, kkickass music, perfekkt synchro, and a good overall demo.
yes
Masterlyl design from the design masters.
at least some from blasphemy is mostly VJing atm afaik..
Yeah this was very smooth !!! almost perfect visuals.
yep Byter is vj'ing, www.effekts.dk with some AlienProphets (gaia & nudge).

Aaaaaaah, this is so amazing!
!
God. I always thought that this prod was made in '00 or '01, but in '98! This prod hasn't aged a day...
perfekktion and timeless. It has the magikk. The reason why we all watch demos.
inkkredible
wtf
Saw this at back2roots when it first came out, never downloaded it till now? I can't believe I missed something so amazing all these years. WTG
almost love it.
hasn't aged a day indeed

Just rulez! Great demo! Sports some really amazing stuff. The design just kicks!
classic.
Interesting, well thought out but it is a little soulless. I like it but don't love it. Originality still makes it stand out. The whole genre didn't grow to be an endless stream of demos imitating each other after all. Good thing, that.
...and legend was born...
This is for the music
mighty soundtrack. Those colors. Blasphemy yeahh.
my fav sw. rendered demo! GREAT!
STYLE!
broken link!!
Nice one.
nice one indeed
immoralsoftvegetable ?
This deserves a thumb. And a video :)

Like the style of this one.
I can see it's stylish, well-designed and all... but it really didn't have the "Wow"-effect on me. However, it was launched in 1998 and it must have been pretty impressive back then. Furthermore, I thought the music was pretty well executed. Definately not my style of music, but technically very well put together. All in all a good job for 1998. Overall, it's a small thumbs up.
Solo2: Err, what are you doing? :) That has to be the most analytical pouet comment I've seen, since like, ever.
Gloom should check out SoLo2's demoblog.. ;p
what nutman said
wot.. no thumb from me yet.. I just thought the opposite of Nutman. This prod haven't aged for me at all.
I still don´t get the hype...
excellent! design'n zik at its best.

traction???
Great.
Very, very nice. I love this :). Then again, I'd love anything with a soundtrack by MD :D.
WOW
I don't really like the music, but the visuals ? Respect.
A really great demo.

o.O I cant believe I didnt thumb this long ago. Anyway... LOVE the kkowballs! SW FOREVER
Another one I haven't watched for years - I still love the blurred colour tunnel at the end.
A great demo.
yay, kewl.

Kkowboy turns the demoscene to the new way!
one of the best!
One of my best moment at a demoparty :')
rulez
a classic.
ThumbBoy
where is ma thumb, boy?
great
classic
YYYess!
One of the absolute best demos of the 90s (and all time for that matter), ingeniously mixing nu-skool design to a rethinking of oldskool effects presentation. And indeed the effects are fucking fantastic, and are all the more highlited by the excellent presentation. Also note about the music: that shit's GOOD.
Design!
holy shit!
Unbelievable it's 14 years old, as it concentrates a style I want to go to - apart from the dotted lines - which I bet were darn fresh back then.
Love the music, and quite can't actually add anything noteworthy apart from that it still rules.

Blown away by this back in the day, still good!
Findest demoart.
Finest even...
Amazing demo for 1998.
definitely one of the best ms-dos i've seen. like candy
Nice design.
Kicks! Very well known demostyle and more packed in this great production. The greets scroller reminds me actual C= 64 demos :)
<3
A coherent style that actually feels more modern than 1998. The countour metaball effect was excellent.
great tunes, clean style. Runs a little slow on my P1 200Mhz, but the P2 400Mhz runs silky smooth. Excellent prod!
My only true gripe is that it's too short!
Also, for my Voodoo 5 5500 I had to set it to double in dos mode or else I got some intense flickering with triple buffering.

Interesting to see how styles change through the decades.
immortal!
10/10 would thumb up again
Classic
Great style :)
this prod needs more kkowbell
What noby said.
design teacher!
Of course this is great... great music, great design, great gfx, great code
This demo is kind of a bridge between the old and new school worlds. The music is very impressive. And: Design.
WOW this one's amazing!! Thanks for the heads up.
good
I'm trying to run this in dosbox on macosx and get "[pmode/w]: Not enough memory available".
I'm thinking that this means I need to mess around with autoexec.bat and config.sys... But I can't even find a config.sys file in DosBox. Anyone think I should really need this for running in Dosbox?

^ change memsize in your .conf file. And you'll likely need univbe too.
(just tested: set memsize=48, vmemsize=8 and machine=svga_s3; on Daum you apparently need to start with -hicolor or mess with univbe, but on vanilla you'll be fine. -lowmem is another command line option when memsize=32)
Thanks! It started and ran fine after increasing memsize. However one color channel (blue) was missing.
I tried to remedy this with univbe, but it made the demo exit saying it could find no suitable mode and that I should try running univbe :)
Anyway I feel a bit satisfied even if one channel was missing.

wow, super nice. Ahead of its time.
oh, i've didn't even commented it? it was one of first demos i've seen (along with bakkslide7, back then i didn't know what the hell is going here and why it runs in the small window, now i ofcos know it's because of 512x384 :)
anyway, can't say anything than RULEZ BIG TIME, mainly for perfect and coherent (stunning and innovative back then, yes don't forget earlier purple/blasphemy prods and te2-rb, but hey, it looks fresh even now) design and sweet-spot orange/blue color scheme. and utterly _marvellous_ md sounds ofcourse! =)
p.s. ohh, it's nearly 20 years old now, and it runs under win10 (though with "window frame in fullscreen aka non-WS_POPUP window" issue :)

WOW
Lookin' good.
I was fighting a bit to launch it on PCEm but when launched it just reminded me how strong Blasphemy was on DOS
Still good after all these years.
set the style-bar high back then. great tracking-skills by md/kschzt!
It was real pleasure to watch it again and under Windows.
It's great example that to withstand the test of time there must be music first and then visuals with good synchronization.

still looks great :)
How come I haven't seen it before? Oh, I know. My PC was crap and I couldn't run it :D
nice demo seems i have forgotten to thumb this up
o_O
rly coooool
This is sooo good! Visuals, style and the music didn't get old even after 24 years! MD's (as kschzt here) music is fantastic and this particular piece can be heard on his later "Between Gaps" album released on Merck label.
Atmospheric demo.
