again - pretty awesome stuff. however, i think you should hook up with a graphician for next release
a new and deep insanity
Incredible. Your best prod since Craft, and in some way even better.
Simply AWESOME!
It's always a pity, that I can't enjoy those in realtime.
I guess the real challenge for him would be to make something awesome on a standard platform. ;)

Really great flow in this one. By far one of my favourite lft productions. I concur with noby, definitely the best stuff since Craft.
Really nice music and great style.
That is really insane. Awesome work on the hardware and the demo rocks hard as well. Big thumbs
Fördjävla bra
Embedded rules, an own cpu rules - thump up and my deepest respects...
AAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
wat is this sorcery?
" - and what's your hobby?
- well, it's about making cpus..."
- well, it's about making cpus..."
The insanity goes on, and even forgetting the hardware skills involved, lft's demos alone are still marvelous to watch always with spectacularly great music and great effects. I am wondering, oh I am wondering, will it ever end? What else we will see in the future from lft? This is real demomaking in the core!
LFT <3 <3 <3
Simply awesome.
Simply awesome.
Oh my !!
Top ace.
Top ace.
holy moly, immediate thumbs up!
YouTube: http://youtu.be/L5W3b1gsnVI
You're mad, continue to be. Love it. ;)
The best lft prod, definitely. The amount of work and expertise required to make something like this is unbelievable.
This is very nice, and must have been a crazy amount of work!
holy ...
insane lft delivers insane wild entry
OK that shit is mindblowing. I lft my hat to you - pun intended.
wow! great demo platform you've got there. demo is excellent as well!
demo had some really cool parts, but was COMPLETELY overshadowed by the BRILLIANT music :D Great stuff!
Difficult to judge, on one hand you have 167 MHz for this, on the other you have to bitbang the VGA. Damn, so the design wins. At least. ;)
Can't get any more hard core than this... :)
Will LFT be able to beat himself, next time?
Will LFT be able to beat himself, next time?
Yes, yes, yes!
Excellence once more!
very nice tune
Starts a bit "mehh" and then goes better and better.
Respect.
Respect.
awesome O_o--b
oh yeah!
Cool, but pretty ugly in places, too.
Absolute great demo and soundtrack !!!
fantabulous :D
insane!!! :D
Linus Akesson. MacGyver of demoscene.
LFT, massive respects Norway! WOW! *bows*
One man army!
Incredible. Would like to know more about the CPU/Blitter design though.
Soundtrack by it's self is awesome.
/demoscene
awesome!
great work!
not really happy about color choices, some of the production on the sound. but am a massive lft fanboy nonetheless. : D Technically impressive vis a vis building own CPU, however. Preferred direction and design on Craft and Turbulence (second especially lovely). Understand limitations.
hardcore :)
insane!
wow
.
!!!
lft rules as always
Thumb.
._________.*!!! Shock And Awe! The demo itself was wonderfully crafted with interesting scenes, a very nice tune and great effects overall, some retro (metaball), some modern. But creating the whole CPU, GPU, VGA-out, audio path, loader, ... around it is simply mindsplitting! o_O
Last year I was already hoping and speculating when Linus would show up with his own demo platform on an FPGA.
Well this year he did!! Very very cool! I can not imagine how many hours of work you spend on developing your own building blocks like the CPU, Blitter (with pixel shader support) and the FM-synthesizer. Then putting it all together in your own digital circuit AND writing your own demo for it.
This is outstanding!!! Congratulation on your win!
What next? Expanding your own FPGA-based demo platform to include building blocks capable of synthesizing voices and such? Or something totally different?
Surprise us Linus! Keep it up! :-D

just wow..
AGAIN
AGAIN
it's really sweet stuff! :)
A bit ugly.
welcome back :)
pretty crazy hack! nice FM tune but design was so la la ;)
ossom tech!
Nice piece of engineering, design, composition and impeccable skill in replicating old computer limitations and styles.
Awesome demo as usual, but oh god - the engineering involved and the tune <3
for the platform
You make me cry. Awesome!
Well, *anyone* can make a demo that's cool when they have complete control over their platform!
...I am in awe. :)
...I am in awe. :)
Once again lft amazes me. I would have loved to watch this one live. Now I have to drool at the YT capture...I am waiting for more in-depth info on the website :-)
I don't know if there's a word in any language that could describe what I think about this masterpiece.
Awesome stuff LFT, you are a genius coder / hardware guru! Now can you PLEASE upload a soundtrack link asap! I need it!
What all upthumbers said!
Flash forward to the Revision 2030:
Wild compo entry by LFT:
"So this is my own silicon nanocircuit plasma-etching machine. I will now produce a GPU, and run a demo on it."

this prod rulez! go lft!
urs: "So let's plug it in!"
Fucking amazing, as we've come to expect!
Impressive.

So I have to find another party for my stuff to have the slightest chance :-)

"For this demo, I designed my own CPU": instant thumb up!
What numtek said!
the best wild demo ever?
It's going to be hard to top this for sure.
Amazing!
Very cool demo, nice music, and obviously this was a shitload of work. However, Craft was way more impressive. The FPGA used is extremely powerful and is capable of much, much more.
This is awesome on so many levels.
Not bad.
Very nice... Enjoyed it in every way.... Music, effects... Wow!
wtf O_O
Awesome!
lft does it again! cool smoke effect.
Awesome!
makes me wanna get an fpga and start hacking together something...
.
Enormously impressing!
what everyone else said
Totally mindblowing! This man is incredible! :D
And as usual the music is fabulous :')
And as usual the music is fabulous :')
Amazing stuff, as usual. Design is getting better too I think.
cool.
O_O
not that lft is good at making hardware, he also owns at coding a demo on it. double thumb up!
So you get any effect idea and go ahead to start designing the respective chip for it, woohoo!
WOW. just wow!
Is there any another weird demolatform for Linus ? Great music and synch.
fpgas are fun
ACE as always, dude!
holy fuck.
absolutely awesome, but like ferris, what i probably love most is the music :)
Awesome. Amazing. A LFT computer could have been a true successor of machines with soul.
awesome, as always!
Awesomeness!
lft, you're a genius.
Amazing
Catchy tune, non-stop entertaining demo, neat not-so-hardware - each alone would be worth an instant thumb!
rulez.
holy crap, you have just created the c64 of 2012 and a mindblowing demo for it. marry me please :)
Pretty rad! Would love if you published more about the creation on http://www.linusakesson.net/scene/parallelogram/index.php (like fpga sources)
LFT, own hardware, good demo, great music.
Quadruple Thumb!
Quadruple Thumb!
Great!
Our of this world!
this is awesome. everything about it. hardware, sound, visuals... i could not do this.
Custom hardware makes this 1000x more awesome
custom hardware rocks! loved that infinite balls plotter with z-buffer and depth effect!
insane stuff, just watched it on my c-one.
Insane indeed :)
Incredibly cool to watch.
Great work
After all the work it must have been to design the components, doing so much (good!) content as the actual demo on top is totally mind-blowing. Awesome stuff!
Even the music alone makes this worth a thumb. Really cool project.
^ * 1e100
Holy crap. Five-minute kickass FM tune, incredible tricks and detail, everything done in such style that you just sit there and watch. Spectacular demo.
The amount of work that went into this, all the way from designing the custom hardware is insane!
Also i loved the music, especially very nice leads
