aardbei gone 'sonnet' way.
added on the 2002-04-02 11:35:47 by bhead bhead
Really goodlooking intro, camera movement synched with sound effect that fits really well, and that last effect with that kinda melted 3d object is superb.

Should have got 2nd place. Great work.

Props to that final scene. Too much sonnet for me the rest of the time.
rulez added on the 2002-04-02 11:42:25 by Shifter Shifter
this is better than sonnet and yet slightly borring. thanks for the greetings :-)
ugh.. to boring to my tastes, but it looks rather nice.... the particles in the beginning were great

just disappointing...

great intro, one of my favourite 64k's.

very good job! Some parts were quite boring, some were not. That liquid-thing is just awesome

Great but damn slow here...

Very nice intro, should have placed better

Very nice intro. Should have benn ranked higher.

Great intro.
Nice blobs and fog effect.
However, It was better to make it common about both the sides of a screen.
An eye becomes bad.;)

After having leeched and watched all 64k intro entries of ms2k+2, I really can't understand why this one didn't place 3rd at least, perhaps even 2nd. I like it very much. Have watched it perhaps 5 or 6 times now and still find it enjoyable. I like the theme of the prod, like travelling to foreign planets and stuff. The music is great also ('specially @ the greetings screen imho). Only con: that last scene with the blob-thingy is a bit too long, but that doesn't change anything about the following fact: This Ruuulleeezz!!! :)

Hm, don't know. LOTS of nice stuff, but nothing really breathtaking, and all seeming a bit unfinished and thrown together... I'll stick with ok I think.

Really great 64k from aardbei again! Still remember that ass-kickin' 'Please the cookie thing' as well of course...

This one's best scenes are definitely the starting one with the 'sparks' flying around...looks really great.
Also that later scene with the landscape and the sparks moving towards that crater is brilliant looking and very stylish...

The last part looks great as well but is kept on screen too long and starts getting boring a bit after that long time.

I really disliked it that this 64k wasn't ranked higher on the MS2k2 results in the end. #5 was definitely too low for such a very nice coding-piece like this.
Would have rated fr-022 (ein.schlag) much lower as it was much more 'just a click-together of some routines with boom-boom uninspired music'-production though. It surely looked funny when seen first on the big screen though...but it wasn't really impressing later on when watching for the second time...

But Aardbei's here _definitely_ keeps its attraction and style...
Would have liked to see that one within the first 3 ranks though...

Anyways...much typing...now tired! ;-)

Bye,
Weasel

...Looking forward to the next Aardbei production...!

Very well indeed. Lots of particles, nice blob at the end and the morphing sphere is impressive. The music is quite nice too. The final greet is rather cheesy imho and should have been left out :-)

Mot, you are not rasmus, so shut up ^_^

oys: hey, don't
yeah, don't, 'cos this intro rulez! the blob thingy is one of the effects i haven't seen this way...

but why does this ask from me whether i'm rasmus or not, when i'm not? :))

There is something wrong from my humble viewpoint... design related... maybe, but, since I'm not sure... hm, blah, nice intro 8P

yay, some nifty stuff in this. Needs more fish, though :)

This is simply stunning! Not quite Heaven 7, but I'd say it was the next best thing. Hard to believe so much atmosphere can be packed into 64k.

I guess it could have been more consistent without the glowing particle scenes. Regardless of this, I still consider this my favourite release at this year's Mekka.
rulez added on the 2002-05-08 02:15:32 by Wade^Hjb Wade^Hjb
I'd just like to add that the music in this intro is outstanding, containing more atmosphere, melody and variation than most 10mb+ demo tracks.
added on the 2002-05-23 01:16:46 by Wade^Hjb Wade^Hjb
ile: I am not defending rasmus, I am sure he is perfectly capable of doing that himself! :-) It's just that it felt like a joke you heard so many times that it's not a joke anymore. My two cents, of course.

btw, it's moT :-P

Yeah that's what i said... Mot
hadn't i commented this already? it's a nice one indeed. haven't watched this intro since mekka but as i remember it was one of the highlights in the competition together with fr-019 and pk is not dead. one word: atmosphere.

i think that this intro should have won the compo.

Anyone got the music in some winamp-compatible form?
added on the 2002-09-25 11:01:27 by Gargaj Gargaj
Watched this again just now. Forgot how good it was. Lush particles, rich textures, and tasty blobby treats. Everything looks really round, and it all has this sort-of hand-drawn quality.

And that tune... That tune is the product of a warped mind. Respect. I'm going to rezip this and send it to my email massive, before I fall asleep.

hmmm.. kinda dull.. features one of the longest decrunching screens ever! (fortunately there's an option to get around that but then it's no longer a 64k).. beautiful particle effects.. good modeling and blobby things.. nice mood.. a few good 2d effects (wished there were more).. nice music.. well, nice except for the kick drum which is much too loud and sustains too long thereby really detracting from the rest of the composition.. just a matter of opinion i guess but it almost ruined the prod for me :)
rulez added on the 2003-01-08 07:26:31 by dyscotopia dyscotopia

amazingly beautiful space scenes! also some landscapes and underwater and ofcourse spiky object & co look rather cool. on the other hand, muzik is weird and that doesnt mean good this time, not at all, also i cant catch any particular vibe going thru intro.

thumb up for the space and work involved
+ its all unbelievably smooth on my lame-ass-computor

Has its moments.. The particles at the start were good looking.. I also liked the rubber spikeball (wish the tentacles were longer though).

Most other stuff in the intro looks a bit flat (not enough contrast?) and the colour choice was not to my tastes... and now a message to everybody who wants to do a water effect... SHALLOW WATER IS NOT LIGHT BLUE!!!!! ;) It is not hardcore rgb blue either.. when are people going to learn? :) The water in swimmigpools tend to be blue, because the bottom of the pool is blue..
added on the 2004-01-30 17:17:35 by loaderror loaderror
Then how come all those pictures of coral reefs show light blue water?
(Technically, it's the water reflecting the blue sky, and the sky is blue because of the absorption and diffraction of light in large quantities of Oxygen.)

this is a strange one..
sometimes you think the whole thing stinks; with terrible music and effects (blobs, spirals) that anyone can do.
othertimes (like volcano and ending) both music and effects are just damn fine.
too fine for the pig; as is the overall polishness.. thumbsup
