The concept is very nice, obviously based on the story "The little girl with the matches" by Christian Andersen. The audio is excellent (both music and narration). There were some glitches in the 3D here and there, but I am not sure whether this was intentional in order to show better lights/shaddows.

Very nice demo even when it's quite slow here. But I prefer their ASM 2001 demo 'Gerbera' when it's about atmosphere

i had a hard time staying awake during the show of this demo, it's boring. though the visuals were great, so i spare you a 'ok', get back to your old style please.

Human models just never seem to look "right" in realtime... Especially facial animation... that fact really detracts from the impact of this prod. Also, I gotta agree piriste's comment.

Great demo from moppi... the atmosphere is great, the 3d models rule and the engine as we knew it, perfect. However try to fix those polygon penetration glitches in the final because they distract from the great atmosphere.
Great demo, great visuals, good atmosphere, the narrating voice might be spookier, but it is quite good.
Just tell me one thing! Why did you stab the little girl - and the evil dark figure - with a knife and a FORK? Maybe I just miss the spoon? (but there is no spoon)

oh man that bathroome scene should have kicked the crap out of haujobb's ass... i'm usually not a big fan of story-based 3d prods but the excellent camera moves and character animation are absolutely awesome... nice nice nice!
ohh a side note to the authors. I have problems running it with AA (gf2gts)and quincunx (gf3ti500). It makes a box with more light than in the scene. It is in the the upper left corner. Excactly 1/4 of the screen size??
hm.. i am very ambivalent about this prod.
first, i hate the voiceover voice. without it, the whole thing would seem much less cliche.
i liked some of the less obvious cuts in the demo, when they break out of the linearity of the storytelling. the lighting of some of the scenes is great.
the modelling is nice in places, and flawed in others. (the grandma-ugh)
technology wise it is not the fastest renderer, and also has some pretty bad artifacts, most of the them due to modelling errors though. Seems like especially the modelling would have needed at least another week of polishing.

i love this. very good 3d modelling and animation (quite a rarity). and the rendering effects are nice too. all that with a great atmosphere too.

i believe that people should be allowed to re-tell classical stories. i wouldn't say they "ripped" it, though i didn't notice any h.c. anderson-credits in it. :) anyways; great atmosphere and animation.

It's nice, that moppi cteates different-style demos, not like haujobb. Haujobb's demo was cool , but it was in usual style. For Moppi their new demo was in new style. Not in designish one. And it's good. I voted for moppi. They're the best. ( But anyway, FFWD by moppi my favorite :) )

this was PRO-stuff.. very good demo. loved it.
deserved the 1st place. great tim-burton-like ambience, quality 3d and superb music too. and it doesn't become boring after 2-3 watches, like all other story-based demos.
lugBOOber: yep, we got the initial idea from HC Anderssen's story, but if you analyze the story in our demo and also the original Little Match Girl, you will notice, that the punch line of the two stories are all different. Yes, there should be some kind of credit to the Man.

i think the narrator fit well this demo. the voice could have been more clear but as the story was well known, it didn't matter :)

Old fairy tale suits well as an idea for a demo, but still something is missing. It was a bit sad and touching story, but true feeling was somewhere else.

It's a neat idea, the graphics are good and the scenes are nice, but it's choppy at times on my Radeon 8500, and rebooted the machine on exit, so I can't give it a full rulez. Sorry..

Left me speechless after seeing this on big screen. Not that big effect again when watching at home from monitor but nevertheless a significant piece of art.
One of the few demos that actually has a sort of "good movie" effect - gives vibrations and makes you thoughtful for a while. Halla is a very special demo.

Memon. I have the latest drivers and now im running a ti4600. The box has gone away (was baddest on the gf2) But the zbuffer problem with the shadows are still there umph... Quincunx AA run it smooth as a weasel (Still the zbuffer shadowy stuff :()
On a side note, both i and the woman wants to know whats up with the knife and fork. Im still viewing this with great pleasure, and find it has been done very loyal to the original story, but with a spirit of its own.

I have to check the shadow stuff on my new machine (same display card), when I have time to do that, and maybe upgrade the shadow rendering stuff to use more up to date stuff too. we are working on the "final" version... will be ready when it's done ;)

Meaning that if your parents has dropped shit on you, you propably continue dropping the shit too. In this case it means that the girl is no different than the father... in some... level... i... guess :)

too weird to be boring, impressive breaks, sound, fire. cant say i am going to watch it over and over again but even if there have been shitload of demos and i knew the andersens fairytale, it came as very original to me.

An excellent prod. Nice story, excellently made, 3d engine is good too. Had some serious glitches on my old gfx card with the shadows, but looks pretty smooth now.

This is one of my favourite demos. I don´t like story demos that much, because I often don´t see the point, but this thing has a great mood. It´s shocking me even on my small monitor and after seeing it several times. I like most the part where that guy with the fork and knife in his back is in the bath. I always feel a shower when seeing this. Great stuff!

Well... I've seen better moppi's demo... Yes, visuals and music are good, but all the production seemed to me just a little boring and, if we can speak of movie-like demo, I didn't like how it was directed, in particular the cut of some scenes (but others like the end are great).
Maybe I expected more from this production and maybe I don't like this kind of demo so much...

Some creepy-ass stuff in here, and some really impressive stuff too. However, it has very little staying power, cuz after the first watch you notice that it is in dire need of a great deal of polishing. Still, that first watch is a good one, so do it.
