very strange prod, looking good but wich is more a cartoon real time than a demo.
perhaps the first of a new style of demos ?
it's too like an intro of a game than a demo, but it's funny, just a little bit :)
not the 'standard' style of Cocoon for sure !

first of a new style of demos? wake up. take a look at freestyle by condense/syndrome or three little goats by moppi productions, just to name two examples... the idea of telling a cartoon story is OLD (and if you don't want 3d, try ninja2)

this cartoon-style 3d is beginning to get popular.. first le petit prince by kolor, then paradise by medieval and now this.. sure those arnt the first demos using cartoonish 3d but it is really stating to get a trend..

fairly okay demo, amusing concept, much more like a cartoon.. and all 3d-cartoons become boring fast.. 8] watch it 3-4 times and you're unlikely to return to it for months..

Hey guys..this is SCENE, ok!? And demos are like music in a certain way! Everyone has got its own certain taste!
On the other hand it's our own creativity here and what WE want to release 'just for fun'...

This demo is a nice and different one among most others and shows another very funny way how to attract the scene and sceners with originality!

So simply keep it as another very well done scene-production and laugh your ass off whenever watching it!
It's REALLY worth it!! :-D

Hope to see many more _different_ cocoon productions in future!!

Boring demo with nothing more than a (slowish) 3d engine.

If the animation is so good, why not put it in an animation/wild-compo? Gotta give credit to graphicians though, looks nice. The french accent was the only thing I found humorous about this production ;-)

what impressed me about glon is that there are no "dead" moments, and the style is homogenic. great storyboarding at least!

OK, I finally got around to downloading the final version through my slow-ass modem. I found the demo quite enjoyable! And even non-scene people might enjoy seeing it once or twice. The objects are minimal, but the motion is well done (and there IS violence, but in a Wile E. Coyote kind of way :). The creators, could probably work on their English a little, it's a bit.. weird. They could've used simpler words, really. And what the heck is a Glon, anyway? :)

For those who complain that it's just an animation, not a demo, two thoughts. 1, they did it on their own time, for free (well, I guess they got some prizes :), and 2, with today's hardware, do we really NEED an animation compo anymore? Think about it. As long as there are still some effect-based demos and artistic demos, the scene will have a good balance.

I'd probably give it a rulez rating, but there are more than enough already. :)

You should have heard the crowd at takeover, more noise than when we first saw vip2.
Of course when you first see it it is awesome, the second time you already know what's going to happen and it just isn't funny anymore...

Well you SHOULD afford to buy every graphic board because it crashed on EVERY graphic board. And don't be insultant once more to people you're already being insultant to with you bad code!
You crashed too many computers with Shad 1 and 2!

vegeta: shut up, people make demos for fun, and there are no guarantees that it will work on one special computer. crashed computers are quite common when watching demos, but you don't hear me whine about it...


well... I really don't know what to say about glon243... it was a hilarious show and made me scream out in laughter several times, but is it a demo? does it belong in the democompo of a party?

argh, what da heck, obviously a production well worth the download... but no thumbs up from me...

Ile is right, it ran out of funniness after a while. It was a blast to watch at takeover, so thumbs up.

My real gripe is that with every fix for this demo, It still couldn't play on 5 out of 6 computers availible without some problem popping up.

Yes, it's a demo. Even if there's no naked ladies or abstract shapes being shown, that doesn't say a damn thing.

I laughed my ass off, too, and I seldom laugh at demos... More like an animplayer with some "mandatory" effects, but a truly hilarious one, at least in the beginning. And the animals were well animated and cute.

you'll probably says that this is an original demo with a new concept, but melon design (for example) have made more conceptual and nicer things many years ago.

As for music, demos don't need to be top-of-the-edge of design or code to be fun and entertaining.

Glon243 allowed me to share the love for demos with my family, as they are not too aware of design vs code vs scenish fight, in that way, it's a very good demo too.

Nice....Different style,humorous,nice graphics,rad animation and generally a demo you must see 'cause it's not another "video clip".

This is very funny and animation is good, but still i think this is one of those demos that rulez when watched first time but second time it gets boring.

This is really weird. I dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing... But hey, there is some originality, and it differs alot from the other stuff. I'll give 'em credit for that at least... The humour is a little repetitive (from my point of view), and only the first part made me laugh (or smirk at least, since it was so unexpected). But when I come to think about it, it is quite nice overall...

What I sorry about it is that it ran under W95, but reboots during the loading under W98. Oh, and the intermezzo parts go chugg-chugg under a TNT2...

Yup, this is well made and good fun. The character animations are fantastic. But I found the humour became very predictable rather rapidly. (After the first owl scene, in fact.)

Hey! Don't thumb this baby down!!! I don't remember any previous time I have laughed so much when watching a demo! And except from the story, the 3d detail and the animations of the gfx are really great, really hard work coder&designwise too. (Ok, ok! I shut up! You can thumb up or down anything you feel like, express your taste free,. I have just gone far away... sorry :)

Sorry, but where is the design work (it's just a unmotivated sequence of 3d scenes with inbetween screens) or the hard code work (linear shape animation is hard work???).

It's different from most standard demos and that in itself deserves credit.

But it's actually a really great prod. Very slick, the design is consistent and it all makes for a very entertaining show.

I should also add that the graphics throughout are excellent and really create a lot of atmosphere - especially the moon and clouds.

Funny and original, but I think it should be more demo-like.

I really tried to like it, but I found the humour repetitively boring, lacking impact, and the moralistic tone (even if ironic) annoying. Plus that little violet creature doesn't deserve such punishment. Overall i found it very hard to enter ..

Really worth watching for having a great laugh, but I wouldn't consider it a demo, I thing it's some type of short movie

if this was a game id be playing because of the twisted graphics...nice piece, that lack history a bit. i mean...girl fly thru tunnel, eats mushrooms, trip and go with her mates into a house, pull a lever and fall down a hole...not excactly stephen king is it?

totally unlike other cocoon productions i've seen so far. The others are great as hell, and altho' different, this one also manages to kick ass!

Somehow i got the same kinda feeling watching this as I did when I saw Budbrain megademos the first time.. the animation is really nice and the characters are unique and interesting. And guys, buy proper videocards, it didn't crash even on my weird GF2+Viper550 combination..

i watched this long, long ago.. for those who don't know, the idea for this was ripped from a (film) animation known as "dirty birdie".. i'm only giving it a rulez because i've given such to worse productions ;) and the humour is actually humourous, unlike other "funny" demos.. it's alright, but to really make the theme work, it should have gone on longer..

well, at least it didn't crash like other cocoon prods...

but wtf? it's not even funny, and way too slow and simple :X. the idea behind it is very good, but the result is something like 'humour for kids'.

Very strange but I find this very boring.

Great demo full of ideas, I still enjoy watching it. And it is one of those demos which entertain non-sceners as well. Music and audio fits perfectly, and who cares about rather mediocre code quality if the rest is carried out perfectly?
