good stuff
So many cool and amazing effects in this, massive!
Good stuff!

Never trust an Amiga rotozoomer.
So much amazing code in this demo!
I always love dot effect, and the 3d rotating dots are great. Not quite 7424 individual dots set each frame, though, right? I count 1856 per bitplane. But they do look like they have perspective correction, no symmetry (maybe 1 axis?), and are morphing, which makes it impressive. Dot tunnel is great, and I love the twisting rotzoomer.
I felt the demo was music and graphics didn't live up to the insanely high quality of the code, though. It was pretty solid, but IMO it didn't all fit together completely. I would have liked a more coherent art direction, consistent or complementary color schemes, and script effect changes timed to match music beats. I think that could have highlighted the effects further? Also, and any demo over 4k that uses system fonts feels lazy.
Still, this was a great production, that just feels a little rushed.

Very cool production.
The "feedback + scaling" effect with a vector object on top of a red feedback backgound does seem somewhat familiar though. :-P
But you guys really made a great demo here, with a massive amount of effects.

Overstays it’s welcome.
Wow! There are lots of effects, most of them amazing. I have a lot of respect for all the hard work that goes into it.
I still need to see it running on real hardware, since I only have an A500 with 1 MB + floppy + Gotek. How can I run the demo on my machine?

Here is a Gotek-friendly version in HFE format. Was a bit of work since no converter wanted to properly convert it.

Very nice and well designed, my personal 1st place. :-)
Excellent demo with many good effects and a very interesting hidden part: a music disc full of fantastic chiptune tracks, which includes the option to exit and continue watching the demo.

Many Great effects, a tad too long, but I was genuine excited while watching it. Music feels a bit like leftovers from TEK prod, but its ok. A bit more bangin' would have been even better. Why the C64 style font though? All in all, great OCS prod!
That was insane. Thanks TomCat666 for the HFE image, can't wait to try this on real hardware!
Really really liked it a lot after rewatching -- I'd highlight the massive amount of dots for sure, and of course it feels like a very big demo for a single floppy.
Massive congrats!! ^_^
Massive congrats!! ^_^
Great effectshow, nice tune. Aesthetically and thematically erratic, but most of all I think it would have been so much better without all the prompted stuff.
Impressive code and great soundtrack!
Effectbonanza!
Are the gfx actually AI slop? Some of them look like AI slop…
I love how this never stops pushing the limit until the end!
A perfect blend of 90's nostalgia and cutting-edge code!
Well done!

really kick ass tech would have preferred different presentation but a great demo anyway !
Nice Demo. Do not get this to run on my A500. My Gotek isn't able to read the 2MB? ADF disk.
Some superb quality code rolled into a classic trackmo effects show, really good.
While I do love a custom disk format but I'm not sure I agree with them being used for demos. As already seen in the comments, it becomes a barrier for people who want to run it on real hardware.
I will of course be writing it to disk and checking your MFM data!

I posted a link to the HFE image that works properly on Gotek and a real amiga a few posts up.

It has all of the usual tells, including too many fingers on the right hand of the ninja.
It isn’t the Amiga compo without some slop!

Hmm … left hand has 5 fingers, right hand has 4 fingers (while you cannot see the thumb). The upper most »finger« of the right hand looks like a part of the sword hilt to me.
It's great seeing Binary back in activity. This is a really solid A500 demo that was clearly put together with a lot of care. Great music too.
The elephant in the room for me is that many of the graphics have the telltale signs of being made with Gen-AI and that gives the demo a rather uninspired and disjointed look. The logos by Capitano on the other hand are very stylish - I assume these are hand-made.

Thanks for the HFE tomcat. Now it works. Really Great Demo
This was the first demo had to I run from a physical floppy for compo recording after many many years. But this time it was for a very good reason. Luckily the drive in my A500 was still up to the task.
Mindblowing tech in a very 90s package, but it's right up my alley. Just the sheer amount of coding content would have deserved a win, but such is life and competition, of course.

Wow! A huge amount of impressive effects tightly synced to great music, can't ask for much more really.
So much stuff, a lot of it good, some of it probably slop. Won't thumb it because of that.
I thought this was fairly unremarkable in the compo, so I'm not entirely sure what all the fuss is about. (Consequentially, I have no opinion on whether there's any AI in there.)
Awesome effects and show, absolutely love it!
When the big yellow scroller started I thought "mmmmh, this is gonna be very oldschool", and then effect after effect this turned into a "wow!". Great graphics and great music too!
Gfx look fishy af. Other than that, an awesome demo
tons of great effects, with few of them quite exceptional! not to forget about transitions, among the smoothest ever seen on amiga! proper showcase of high-end coding craftmanship!!
it would actually be great to see a breakdown or write-up explaining the techniques used, and highlighting what records may have been broken in each part.
in addition to the code, all tunes are excellent, and the inclusion of a "hidden" section that effectively turns into a full music disk is a very nice touch, executed at a level that stands equal compared to recent dedicated musicdisk releases.
visually, there's also a surprising amount of great graphics throughout, which nicely complements the technical excellence of the demo.
and all of this fitting onto a single DSDD floppy makes this achievement even more remarkable!
as for some of the reactions mentioning an AI feel - personally don't see anything that would suggest that, but maybe better to leave that discussion to those more experienced on that topic.

Unperturbed by all the buzz about AI and modern tooling, one man codes a demo on his Amiga like in the old days. And what a demo!
I distinctly remember coding bumpmapping effects on my A1200 30 years ago that were basically identical to the one in this demo. This is insane.

Thanks for the Gotek-friendly version, it worked!
Long and boring, bringing the worst memories of early 90s ocs horror demos. It's 2026 - be brief, respect the viewer. 4-5 minutes, wrap it up and let others impress the audience. I thought the times of press space for next effect' and 15 minutes snooze fests are long beyond us but here we are - back in full swing...

Different strokes for different folks!
A bit long but no doubt that the code is good!
Nice
impressive come back !!!
It's a great demo. If some of the gfx are AI, that's disappointing, but everything else is good enough to still warrant the thumb up.
Impressive code. Too bad about the AI slop. :(
Loads of impressive technical effects that I need to go away and study! The dots part and bump mapper stood out to me.
I have no issue with the oldschool presentation, and it looks like you achieved exactly the style you were going for. Congrats for pulling this off and managing to pack it all into a single disk.

great demo, well put together, even if some graphics was AI, this is not pixel art competition to be judgemental. it all tastes really well and fuck blind-sighted AI haters, they are still in medieval ages while often using some other's people/companies code to make demos themselves which is equally bad to keep it fair.
so if AI as a tool doesn't work then all the designers who use Unreal Engine and NOTCH and what else should fuck off and learn some coding too, first..
Digression, anyway... we're all old crappy sloppy slackers anyway and...
Good job BINARY!

Personally, I just don't find the visual aesthetically pleasing in this demo. I'm ok that AI was used, but this to me raises expectations towards the visual quality, not lowers them.
So just a piggy.

Obvious thumb up. Oldschool vibes all over the place with a banging soundtrack.
Great demo Binary!
Incredible demo, love all effects. Thanx guys!

Nice one with a lot of oldschool vibes and great music!!
Ah, such great vibes
maybe I don't get it because I'm a millenial, but to me it was just waaay too long.
it has of course nice effects, which would warrant a piggie at least, but why do you have to use AI gfx? I don't get it - it sadly drags the demo down.

A bit too long, and a huge lack of graphical coherency. Anyway, still deserves a thumb up
An incredible number of well-executed effects linked together by superb transitions. Great !

It seems like the easy “AI slop” criticism risks getting a serious slap in the face when it turns out it wasn't AI after all xD
Meanwhile, those who bear the brunt of such unfounded criticism might take it as a compliment.
Let’s hope it doesn’t become the norm to make a drama out of AI use among production that didn’t use it.
One of the best. Unfortunately I'm out of credits for a heart symbol, so I have to come here and comment :-)
i can only imagine the epic effort this all took to make. Gratz!
great demo with a lot of effects! +1 for having custom MFM format. I'm curious to know how bigger than standard 512*11 bytes per track it is.
