Excellent music, gfx, and effects.
Great idea & realization!!!
Yesss!
ok, this is a historical one.
i can't remember this being done before — at least not at THIS level. everything is perfect: smooth, gorgeous, brilliant.
this is truly an outstanding technical achievement with most original concept.
my favorite demo of the past several years across all platforms.
i am speechless.

nice
Interesting idea, and it looks very smooth and anti-aliased at times... but I'm sorry, maybe I'm getting old and my vision is going, but I can barely see your demo in a tiny 2.5x1.5cm thumbnail in the already small GBA screen. This is not an enjoyable demo-watching experience.
also a couple of suggestions for the final version:
1. since you're obviously just changing the background affine transform for the display flip, why not allow it to be flipped at any time, to see how it looks one way or another without having to reboot
2. I also tried it on a NDS lite, and there is no correct orientation. Maybe some displays have a 90-degree subpixel layout. Since your tiny demo screen would fit the display sideways, why not also allow 90 degree rotations?

A very original idea :) At first I didn’t get it, and then I really got it!
Otomata ftw! Love the soundtrack too.
Now that's subpixel rendering, great job!
Nice!

This looks great. Well executed with lots of effects that take advantage of the subpixel trick.
Really enjoyed this. Demoscene essence to me.
should've gotten 1st imo
yes
on the big screen this was super enjoyable :) I agree that probably nobody will watch this on device since it's super tiny, but a fun idea, great execution!

Nice one. Stylish, enjoyable. Thx for greetings
completely impractical, utterly awesome
Runs well and looks amazing on the real hardware (New Nintendo 3DS XL in GBA-1:1 pixel mode).
Although, the screen size is too small. It would be great to see a full-screen demo next time. May be for 3DS, by the way?

music
strongly rulez for the kickass music
also very strongly rulez for the subpixel demo

really enjoyed this one
rulez:)
What a great idea.
I completely dived into the music, thanks for this! And the effects are very smooth!
sweet, well executed idea, and absolutely fantastic track. the free "lowres LCD" post process effect is a bit of an unfair advantage though ;)
I only saw this technique used for font rendering in the past. Really cool to see it on such a wide range of effects. Great stuff!
so impressive
Excellent demo, the subpixel concept is fantastic. The music is also top-notch. This is the demoscene we love so much. The limits of the possible have been pushed again now!
Pretty cool!
I don't think it's the first subpixel demo (this comes to mind for example) but definitely the best. And extra kudos for the platform, I like GBA :)
Great idea!
Super! I really enjoyed the rendering and overall style here. Polish is high on almost every part, and music ties it snuggly together!
amazing! cool idea, great execution and music.
I really like the music, but concerning the visuals I kind of agree with Nuclear. It also feels a little disingenuous to crop the video recording like this, leaving out the > 50% of the screen that's just black.
loved this in the compo, the idea is great and the music and visuals gel so well <3
