Some extremely cool scenes and effects, especially loved the reflections on all the spinning objects like the tape, floppy and compact disk. And the demoscene lifesaver rings were a neat idea. Very fitting music, too!
The nonstop flashing in the whole first half of the demo was a bit too much for my liking, however. I feel like maybe less would've been more in this case :)

Great flow and uses relatively small amount of content very effectively. I was immersed in demo for whole duration, instead of waiting for next scene to happen, which can't be said for most demos nearing 5 minute mark.
Was also great to see "demo demo" win, instead of one of them big budget hollywood productions :D

The visuals were super cool, art style executed brilliantly and I believe The Message was touching to everyone interested in the scene in one way or another. Grayte stuff!
Nice message and some very pretty scenes. Got to agree with Sauli's comment. However, some of the stuff didn't work for me at all, like the Rush Hour scene and the nostalgia pandering with the disk/tape/etc objects that seemed completely out of place. Weak thumb up, I'm looking forward to see where and how you can evolve this style.
This is exactly what I want from my summer blockbuster demo. Flashy stuff, in your face attitude, tight sync and the music made me play air guitar in my home office. Fuck yes. By far the best demo in the competition and if anything ever was a breakthrough performance, it is this.

This is a really good demo and I'm glad it won the compo. I was impressed by the consistent style and excellent visual design. Congratulations! I'm not sure to whom this is "nostalgic" as promised on the compo slide since this is clearly early 2010s retrowave style :)
Great production with polished soundtrack. A worthy winner. I suggest all of you to check the speech given at the ceremony though. Scene moment of the year.

I'm notoriously known for beating on 'nostalgia' bait, but c'mon, the man is called Outron and made an outrun demo, I'm not gonna hate on this!!
cheesy as fuck. the silver car scene was indeed very Rush Hour-silly. but it plays well on the 'most demoish demo'-vibe that was direly needed in that specific demo compo.

There's a raymarched cube. There is an envmapped car. There's a tunnel (well, two). The scene poetry has evolved into cliché slogans. And there are some objects spinning around in the center of the screen. Neither of this makes for a very interesting demo.

Not a huge fan of the somewhat ”glued on” text overlays, but other than that, a very solid ”assembly demo”. Keep it up!

It's one of the few times a PC demo gives me the good vibes, especially the music.
But everything is nice, clean, energetic, reminds me of older demos, like last time I really liked a solid PC demo with similar vibes in presentation/music is far enough.

You guessed it right! The tunnel and the car are indeed renderer as two separate passes and then merged. Some of the car's shaders include a simplified version of the same ray marching routine that is used to render the tunnel.
The depth info from the car rendering pass is also used to prevent the tunnel rendering pass from drawing occluded rays behind the car. We have this dogma, that the demo has to run smoothly on my mac laptop. I know this prevents us from doing really complex scenes, but the goal is that you don't need a super expensive graphics card to run the demo.

So very good, in every aspect. 10 out of 10. 11 out of 10, if the prize acceptance speech is included.
No idea what the prize acceptance speech was so I'm forced to judge it on the demo merits - there's a lot to like here, what's there is well done, and I really can't knock the enthusiasm there, but it's also as safe as you can humanly get with the bisexual lighting and synthwave, and I could've done without the kumba-ya populism, earnest as it may be. Still, on principle it's at least doing what a demo is supposed to, and that ground is getting thinner by the day, so the win is deserved.

The technical part is good but the artistry is hit and miss. The segment with the car is especially underwhelming because it moves like a snail in a scene that should give the sense of speed. Also I'm freaking tired of fractals. People, let them go already, they bring nothing but deadly boredom.
