Seems like the experience you collected making Piledriver had a good side after all :) The animation, camera work, pacing, meta commentary, and the interplay between visuals and music is so on point it could take the ballet world by storm. This is one of those demos that just make you smile all the way through, and it's playing on the scene's self referentiality just right.
One small technical nitpick though: It took three attempts until it ran properly here (details on request).

I am very partial to manual lathes :) Also the demo is short, crisp, on point and super entertaining. Worth plenty of rewatches and a good "look, this is what a demo looks like" to use on unsuspecting not-sceners-yet.

Despite it being unoriginal and having a very dated 2002 64kb look and feel, I enjoyed the pacing and attempted comedy, so thumbs up for that.

honestly the only thing holding it back is the render looking really dated.. not from a technical kudos point of view but because it actually gets in the way (e.g. the box feels like it's floating in space in a separate environment to the background & floor, due to lack of any kind of occlusion/reflections etc). if the production value was increased it'd be killer. :)

excellent demo and my only critique is sort of what smash said but manifesting mostly as the background environment for me. It could've had a bit darker material to have a stronger contrast and focus on the box. oh and no Indiana Jones magnetic box reference??? (or did i miss it in that speed? :P)

What I like about this is that you will want to go back and rewatch. While it’s SO fun to be ran over by a hilarious fast editing train on the initial viewing (where can one learn such power?), I keep going back to discover a new heartfelt detail hidden away in plain sight for someone to find. You've mastered timing and audio sync, obviously, but the first part goes by almost a little too fast for its own good. The slow break in the middle was fine and the last part was cool, but it felt like the demo ended too soon and there should've been one more part, either at the pace of the first part or the last. And it felt more than just a little inspired by Domain. But, all that doesn't keep it from a thumbs up.

This is extraordinary for me. Music, visual apprentice, pacing were all top notch. This demo has the essence of fun and humor. It has a series of layers to unpack with interesting audio and visual references.
I have reached for size as a critical dimension in the past. I.e. 'this would be better if it was 1MB...' But I am now thinking I should consider a critical achievement when a demo payload is significant larger then a video of the demo compressed with a modern codec... Anyways,.. this demo gives me much to consider. It is excellent.
