Lovely :). The music I didn't really care for there though. Not that there is anything wrong with it in general, but I think it would've worked better without the jovial melody, and instead with something more glitchy and abstract. Also ran rather well at fullhd even on a very low-end radeon.

I liked the music.
Nice effect but the whole demo feels uninspired and empty. Those screen distortions seem to come out of nowhere, and the black background feels too empty.
A fun concept that could have been worked out much better.
Expected more from ASD... interesting concept but nothing happened at all :(
Love that style, and the music as well. Sure you did better demos, but you're still producing better stuff than most of us, in your own unique style. One can spot it's an ASD demo, even without seeing who did it <3

i think the problem i have with this is that ASD made some of the - for me - best/inspiring demos around so the expectation is very high on a new release. unfortunately this one looks and sounds just okish (as a demo, even if someone else had done it) and feels somehow recycled. i don't know. to sum it up: motivational piggie for the next big demo ;)

First of all , i like it. really nice effect, the mellow'ish sounds fit too, but only a black background and a total lack of any 2d supporting graphics make it look quite empty to me. But thats just me. It somehow looks like 1 effect recycled over and over again. But a really nice effect that is.

A jawdropping 4k, a really cool 64k, but very little wuaw/kb ratio in this one It's basically a single idea with simple music. The melody is nice, but that's not enough to lift my overall impression.

I'm no fan of the stuff amusic usually come up with in ASD prods, but this track was cute and I liked it a lot.
Also props for making a demo that actually works on "normal" hardware. Others should more follow you up on that.

after 20 seconds i really liked it, but after 3 minutes, it was just a messy mashup of colors and shapes.

Lovely tune, lovely visuals. I love how light it is, reminds me a lot of the times when even ASD demos were a bit less pompous and filled to the brim with stuff.

if you choose to have one single effect roll on for 3-4 minutes, you better have some goddamn well done direction to go with it. instead, you chose to have none, and as a result my eyes hurt from all the spazzing.
Hey, interesting style (IQ shapes, lol :) and awesome music. I really love the music, and a funny fact, from 2:15 the music reminds me a bit of Nemesis in Amstrad CPC, don't know if it's intentional but cool :)

very asdish. soundtrack is original and interesting. like others said : a bit repetitive. also it looks more like an winamp visualisation plugin than a demo.
A little low on content for a demo. Looks more like a 64k to me and the impression it leaves behind would certainly be better that way. But still it looks good, except the flickering. Music is good, too.
It wasn't a bad effect, but had no real impact and after 10 seconds the show's over.

A few words about this lil' demo. Just like the Butterfly Effect, this demo was built on the music rather than the other way round. It is fast made (music took about 2 afternoons and the visuals about 3 or 4 days if I'm not mistaken), it lacks polish and it's actually an effort to not let a year go by without releasing anything. The truth is that this past year has been a very tough one for asd members on a personal level, which took away both our free time and our inspiration. Apologies to our fans who are expecting a flagship demo, but this year there's not going to be one (unless something remarkable happens). I hope you guys enjoy it for just what it is. A small, fast-made demo.
As for size coding, I suppose this could be done in 64k or even 4k. The instruments are pure synths so it could be done in a soft-synth (if I ever learned how to use one) and the visuals are textureless. In fact, most of the filesize of the archive is due to the music being encoded at 320kbs. We've never been into sizecoding though, and I highly doubt that we'll venture on that path in the future. If however anybody feels like remixing it into 64 or 4k, feel free =)

Unless you only use the samplers or/and Malström in Reason you ARE already using softsynths - however those in a 4k/64k softsynth might not be as userfriendly and feature-complete ;)
Drums are sampled but they could be reproduced with a bit of work. All other instruments are Thors.
I'm a bit disappointed this time. The visuals are fresh and new, but look somehow like uncontrollable chaos. Too weird for me. Also the music doesn't fit really well. While the visuals are so colorful and always in motion, a somehow happier or (hippier) touch would have helped a lot for a stronger atmosphere. But it's fast made, so it's OK.

It's not really mindblowing, a little bit "empty", probably can be done in 64k (the music too!) but it's cute, enjoyable, and the color scheme is nice :)
I feel there is an attempt at innovating objects so thb up :). You build a complex geometrical object from many simple ones, however. These latter are too numerous, too many are displayed simultaneously => I can't focus well my attention on the whole.

There is some background story to all this but the margin of this page is too short to explain further. But lets say it is some sort of battle between good and bad chemicals - the good ones win at the end.
Euskal 20 was a fun party. There was a single day of good weather so got to the beach and spend some time thing about the future. And the future is dark!!

At the party there were plenty of creative people doing all sorts of things other than demos, which is a shame but at least it shows that the flame is still there. Do visit Bilbao next time, I think they (we) need your demos more than anything else.

I always liked those oldschool 2.5D kaleidoscopes as a child. In full 3D they seem to be even better!

Tune is chirpy, but it seems to have so much trouble. Jerky in 1920x1200?? Can't force AA, too many glitches (checked the video to make sure they were in there...), slow framerate even in 1280xsomething... I don't get it :'(
