For me the key is using Bartmans Amiga debug plugin.
First for performance:
You see exactly where every cycle goes,
instead of only having a simplified mental model of the hardware flow.
Second for development time:
A few dotzend lines of C replace hundreds of lines of asm. When really needed then inline asm can still be used.

That was very nice - love the 90' style! Well done!
This is a grower for me. I admit I wasn't grabbed initially (I thought it was "just" good), but I like it more each time I play it. My fav effects are the one after hyper jump and the cube shaped logo. "Done" reminds me a bit of Pacific prods. Pink has a rare ability to make the melodies sound so smooth and natural that they somehow never feel "forced". Love the arpeggio part and a bridge at the end.

I knew this development plugin was good shit, but it is a bit more extreme than I had expected! Really impressive video demonstrating it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ4tKisnr7Y . The part where one can scrub within a frame blew my mind :D

Not super-interesting, but the music is fairly enjoyable. (Was the end-credits music somehow inspired by the FR-08 loader music? I half-way expected a remix after the first few bars… :-) )
