pure art, nothing more to say <3
Pure and emotional. I have no words.
Really wonderful!
absolute work of art, goosebumps inducing demo
deep, dark, beautiful, ♥
moved me!
masterpiece
This just took everything we had in the scene and within about 6 minutes took it to a level that's not even in the same school of thought that we knew so far. The scene might not recognize it for years, or ever - hell I wouldn't be too surprised if you wouldn't make top 3 - but you did.
You emotionally broke hundreds of people using a bunch of lines and about 4 chords on a piano - if this was a real party, you could've heard a pin drop it would've been so silent.
I'm trying to find comfort in knowing that nothing I'll ever make will be as good as this.
Thank you so so much.

This demo excels in everything: visuals, atmosphere, music, direction, you name it. It should've been the compo finisher, and in my heart it is.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! I will rewatch it many times and show it to everyone I know. This hits on so many levels, I can't even properly describe how completely right it is.
(God, how I wish accumulating CDCs wasn't this hard...)

Absolutely beautiful. This has so much of that "intangible" stuff that makes this scene an art scene.
Awesome production.
Thanks for letting me see and comment the last steps of this production. The result is really awesome and the music is exceptional.
Absolutely beautiful, no words for any further commentary <3
This was my shared no.1 demo in the compo, and the best demo by Pixtur in a long, long time. Loved just about everything about it, thank you.
(Will possibly come back with some more in-depth thoughts later...)

Lovely and so utterly stylish.
While this is a style that I cannot create myself, I do value it very very much.

After rewatching this on my local machine, i no longer hesitate what my party favorite is.
Totally and utterly captivated me right from the start and left me speechless at the end. Took a minute to gather my thoughts after. I'm gonna watch this a bunch more times.
Still are STILL my favourite demo group.

really wonderful demo!
I would like to win, but I think this deserves to win!
Made me very emotional. This is a landmark!
What everyone else said.
This not only was the best prod of the entire event, I also could instantly connect, and I was deeply moved, in spite of all the loud and colorful stuff before this was shown, and afterwards. Deep, emotional and moving, and I can relate to the subject, while wishing I couldn't.
Thank you.

Still haven't lost their inimitable psychedelic impact and style. Beautiful.
I think it says a lot when I open this page and SIX people already assigned it a CDC. This is a very well done demo.
So very very beautiful, both to the eyes and to the ears.
astounding.. i dont really have any other words..

It would be more but we've all run out.
I will say good things and bad things :-)
On the good side: This is obviously beautiful. The rendering is crisp, the lines themselves are beautiful, it has a look that is among the most distinctive among all of this year's Revision entries. The music fits the mood perfectly. It's easily among the top-3 PC demos this year, and a likely Meteoriks laureate.
But: It feels like it's going nowhere. I found it hard to know whether it's starting or ending or building up to something, and then it's gone. And some of the effects desperately need easing. All the morph effects seem to be just a linear move from A to B, with constant-time trails, while it is rotating around the y axis at exactly the same speed throughout the scene. That takes away some of the “organic” feel for me.
Obvious thumb, of course!

just breathtaking
I need to watch this again, perhaps with headphones. For some reason while I recognized its beautiful and enjoyed the soundtrack thoroughly, it failed to capture me like it should have, which after seeing the reactions is hard to admit, honestly. Maybe it will get me the next time; maybe I needed the big screen atmosphere.
Absolutely mindblowing. Party favorite for me by a huge margin and that's saying a lot considering the quality of releases this year.
no words. only excitement. you are fucking great <3
Done right. Beautiful
I was speechless after watching this.
Great demo, really liked it, it's very coherent, thoughtful and polished. Well done, big congratulations!
„Too many lines.“
„Where is my color?“
„Artsy-fartsy.“
:)
it‘s not the second coming of christ, but definitely a well-done production.
So basically what ferris said.

Ups, forgot the thumb!
one of my favorites in the compo. beautiful
I love the pace and style of this.
I... just... Wow. Glad you're still there :)
Great stuff!
Beautiful and moving.
And not Arcade-themed, which is a plus.

Breathtaking, emotional, pure art, as all said.
I was definitely convinced that you were the win!

Superb !
The visuals and music are beautiful but I feel like I'm missing something. The start seems to say there is a story in here about death or loss, but the visuals are mostly just abstract - and, to me, not in the 'abstractly hinting at some broader theme' way but just abstract. The beautiful music does enough to keep it from being just a pretty show of lines, but overall it left me wondering. Basically what Sesse said, I guess.
Such a delicate piece. Must absolutely be watched in realtime to appreciate the movement and depth.
what ferris and stijn said. first minute or so had a captivating narrative but then it lost me.
Still demos are so incredibly easy to like.
The opening scene alone looks awesome, but when the movement starts it's impossible to not appreciate the beauty. 6 minutes is usually a bit too much, now not so.

for me it was a kind of opera with a danse, amazing, beauty-full, poetic
Astonishing
Nice calm mood.
Thumb for music. Compatible with hercules and monochrome monitor?
Art. In all senses.
Words cant really describe it.
Masterpiece, my personal favorite in the compo.
Not quite sure how that ended up 3rd place.

missing words to describe the feeling watching this...
wow <3
essentially what Sesse, ferris, stjin et al said. this is a well done demo that is solid on all levels and is worthy a thumbs-up and a very high rank at the compo.
however, for some reason i just don't feel that what many people seem to overwhelmingly feel :(.
there's just.. nothing. it's moderately enjoyable, but also slow and nothing happens.

The demo is gray. The music isn't exactly sad, but very slow and tentative. It seems to be about death. The audience goes wild.
leaving a thumb here now, will probably write a more detailed comment at a later day. amazing work on a difficult theme.
A well thought/designed demo.
I want to know more about Marion now. Who she was, who she was for the author, and why now.

good - but i've watched it a few times, and like a few people commented i'm missing something.
i think the issue is that when you go this minimalist, everything has to be really perfect because everything there is so on show, there's nowhere to hide. the things that are not perfect take your attention away from the experience, drag you out of the atmosphere.
there were things that were not quite smooth: linear or abrupt movements, transitions where the supporting fade came in too early, blended stuff not looking sorted properly (the kinectscan vs the particles). the curl noise particle trail line things worked brilliantly in some moments - e.g. around 1:20 where they look structural, but looked messy and awkward in others. (and it's really not your fault but ive seen that effect so too many times because it's a notch 101 thing, so i ended up overanalysing it while watching :) ). the last section of forming meshes with the trails didn't really work for me.

beautiful experience
Masterpiece
nice / calm / great
Pixtur doing what only Pixtur knows how to perfect. Now go finish the purple demo!
Yup, this was good. Very good.
Simply beautiful and elevates the form
very stylish ..
My personal choise for this compo. Very will nice and strict design. Beautiful.
thank you.
The linearity of some interpolations are a bit distracting.
Other than that There has this rare mesmerizing flow with code, music and visuals moving in unison.

What Targhan said.
Astonishing. styles and the soundtrack pierce me so hard. and I have to appreciate the direction you did on the compo.
what provod said though honestly. am I missing something?

Impressive on the stream. Not sure however if I want to see it again (which actually works for all Still demos in my case). Hat tip for the tech.
So beautiful.
Minor nitpick: Demo doesn't seem to prevent screensaver/power management from kicking in, and crashed here when the screen went blank due to that.

Proof that demos can convey a wide range of emotion!
The choice of screenshot was not the best imho.

Very cool design.
Alas, I am part of the crowd that this demo didn't manage to touch.
It feels as if I had missed some of the verses of the poem, and it lost me on the way.
And as Sesse and Smash pointed out, some lowly technical details worked against the intent.
For me the most jarring of them was that the lines seem to abruptly all start moving at once as a clear cut block, giving a sense of artificial and cold geometry, in direct opposition with the flow and organic idea that this story seemed to be telling. Some effects which I would have appreciated in any other prod made me wonder why they were in this one, like the blinking dots that made me think the path looked like a runway, or the Bourne Supremacy end credits 90° lines.
I'm not sure if it's those details that prevented me from fully appreciating this prod. I surely liked it, its quality is obvious from the very first plate, and the idea feels more mature and more thought through than the vast majority of even the noteworthy demos. But it didn't touch me as it should have. I will have to watch it again, but I also hope there will be a final version.

I really, really want to like this demo, but ... I can't. After two minutes, it just becomes boring and I can't see the appeal. The first 30 seconds, though, are extremely awesome and make me raise my thumb to a sufficient degree.
Lovely and Sad demo, mix is not easy but perfectly done here. Good work !
well done, great content , clever demo.
oh wow! - not much left to be said, missing a CDC for sure!
If emotional music and atmosphere is visualized, it has to look like this! oh wow!

this soundtrack... <3
Lovely! Thank you.
This is art and beyond any imagination. Only Pixtur is able to do such things. I'm fascinated, but I also have to say that my brain is not able to understand it completely. So I apologize and have to say that I'm more with KeyJ.
without a single doubt the most beautiful demo i have seen. ever. pixtur and cynic should hopefully be acknowledged far beyond the reach of the demoscene for this piece. and - equally important; the sound. lucid. holy shit. what a masterpiece! it could easily stand alone in the ambient world - but coupled with the talent of these two - YAY <3 standing ovation. bravo!
one more little tidbit (sorry).
i am so happy i dont know how to code and make demoes. you all seem to argue that a demo is bad because the code is not excting enough or poorly blahblahblah. by no means is this the case here; but come on - just watch, listen and enjoy.
if you do that and let go of all those pre-inhabited ideas of what your perfect demo would be like - life would be slightly better yes? :)
again. thank you still!

yep! :)
Great Production!!!
It's alright. The whole part with the face and worms was the best for me, otherwise it did not really "move" me. Still, I like how it hardly feels boring despite being so slow overall. The music is spot-on. Keep it up, and keep it slow!
So I finally had time to watch it. The demo feels polished.
Rendering is clean and subtle effects are quite impressive to watch - great job "there" or "here" ;-)
The demo is not the easiest one to watch, especially for an unsophisticated viewer - but who's sophisticated anyway :P
All in all, it's original and memorable - should have ranked higher.

maybe it is one of those wine demos that get better over time with some rewatches but for now it bored me a lot on the visual side. the music on the other hand is fantastic!
the soundtrack carries it a lot, esp. when the piano sets in.
beautiful counterpoint in the competition.

Breathtaking.
if this aint art I dont know what is...
i dig the idea while the execution of the concept lacks alot. would love to see this developed over a longer period with more dev time and polishing spent on it.
My favorite from the compo
Still keeping me up there
just rewatched and this is still one of the best demoscene prods I've ever seen :) <3
Decent. :)
The only reason I can think of that poueteers are having virtual orgasms over this demo is they are enchanted by strings and piano chords. And that's great for them, but it doesn't have the same impact on me. Maybe I just don't get it, MAN, because I'm not, like, a true ARTIST.
Anyway, I'll give it a thumb up, mainly because I also gave Strings/Wake a thumb up and I don't think this is any worse, and out of respect for the thought put into the design and sound.

Pretty
Lovely!
Made me think in the way I believe art should make you think. "3rd" omg.
watched it again for the 20th time. the music, the tempo and the imagery makes it slightly better for every viewing. i love the subtle perfectionism. that's difficult. thanks lucid and crew - again :)
Amazing! Really amazing ... I'm feeling satisfied right now, I've arrived ... somewhere ... Thank you for this!
magical soundtrack and beautiful visuals. I think I liked strings better, but they are very different
At one point felt like an ink wash painting.. Stunning artwork!
Captivating atmosphere. And what Sesse said.
Greyscale demos usually fail to really turn me on, and this is no exception. But it's good for what it is.

i don't regret any second of the time i took watching this beauty.
this experience is wonderful.

Excellent design. I love it.
love it!
I liked the beginning. The condolence image was full of details. It must have been a lot of work put into this. But the rest of the demo did not please me. I am sorry. I seem to belong to a minority as most other people liked the demo. I found it boring, both the visuals and the soundtrack. Piggy.
pretty sweet
this demo is a masterpiece, I totally forgot where I was and who I am from the beginning to the end.
both visuals and music are on a next level, I'm totally blown.

aMAZing. Will be sharing this with many
visual meditation
I really admire how courageous this demo is, in terms of style, rawness, theme, soundtrack. Not exactly a party starter. It makes no compromises in communicating its ideas.
This felt like I was inside somebody elses mind.

hey gaspode, how are things? :)
Altogether minimalistic and haunting in a comforting way, this PC demo speaks to the beholder with such a moving message about... life and death, I guess, one which weaves along the moving invisible air with careful grace typical of peaceful exploration games.
Quote:
Who is Marion?
That is probably the main thing that made me feel the whole time that I'm missing something to understand the demo.
Should I be in a sad mood? Is it to be looked at separately and not relevant for the remainder of the demo? Is that statue said Marion? Should I know her, is she famous for something important or nice? Help!
But apart from that, pretty great.
