I think this demo is trying to have a message, but it's not very thought provoking. Visually this is just a collection of photos that shake around, cross fade, and scroll with some text and a voice-over. There are no effects, flybys, particle animations, or realtime raytracing. This could've been made as a flash demo and still maintained it's cross-platform status.

imagine what could happen if halcyon&dajormas did another coop :)

I liked it. The voice-overs were kinda cheesy but the rest was ok. Never heard such music in a demo :-)
Simple, enjoyable and stylish. unlike most of the other entries.
spedes+jormas co-op ?
simple and tastefully made == a good time watching it.
It wasn't bad at all. Good feeling troughout.
absolutely amazing. one of my favourites of the asm demo compo. the overall feeling when watching this demo is just great and the brilliant music rounds up this production to be top notch for me. should have be in the top 5 for real!
yeah i doubble what Jazz said. This demo is great. i think its nice with a no 3dshow demo. pure atmosphere and the phat tune!!
I like it.
I'll second Uncle-x's opinion.. Nothing too tricky here but it works! It's always great to see stuff that's not supa-dupa-3d-kaboom-in-yer-face in these "accelerated" times ;)
great atmosphere.
this is cool. tho very slow
cheesy voice (round 1, fight!) but great demo. Nice rythm, very engaging for a 2D slideshow
well I'll second Little Bitchard.
stylish it is.
stylish it is.
Simple and stylish
I wonder, if a 3D artist worked a few weeks through all this and converted the pictures into 3D scenes, would that make it more impressive? Ok, this could have been done with Flash. A lot of other demos look like they could have been released as animations rendered straight from the 3DS Max scenes, and entered in the animation compo!
Demos are no longer "demonstrating the power of the hardware technology", games are doing it much better. We all know you can render pretty many pretty polygons realtime on a PC. After playing some Startopia (which is an old game by now?), the 3D stuff at Assembly somehow fails to impress me.
Maybe I'm weak-minded, but I was impressed by "the message", technology (if you call random morphing 3D blurps "technology", hey those must be ~10 lines of OpenGL or DirectX calls...) is a possibility, but is it the answer to all our problems? :-)
Anyway, since it was a democompo after all, it would probably not have hurt if there had actually been some demo effects in this... :-) But the best parts might pass for a TV ad or something...

well, perhaps the key in demoscene has been to do stuff realtime ... and thats why people like when stuff is as cool realtime as prerendered... but then again, youre just an idiot

stefan you're an idiot, these pictures were shown on screen r-e-a-l-t-i-m-e, with code...
and the demo is great too.
WOW!!! Were all those pictures shown in real-time? How did they do? So many pixels and that effect that paints them... nearly impossible!!! And they were shown with code.... godamnit!!
probably the most stylish entry of the compo.
the voice sort of sucks, but nice kraftwerk-style electrobeats in the background and neat 2d effects.
Cool prod, fabulous music. Great work Vesuri!
There is no point in this production being in the demo compo. In wild compo this would have been okay.
@drstranger:
Why is there no point in this production being in the demo compo?
Do all demos have to look the same, have 3d and tons of layers/colors/effects/whatever? Give me one reason why this is not a demo and others are? Do all demos have to look the same?
It is one of the productions i enjoyed most in the whole compo (with variform and 32 degrees)

drstranger is one of the pathetic lamers around in the scene i have ever seen. i would even say he is not even a member of the demoscene or knows a single bit about the work behind those productions. stay away from demos, you cocksmoker!
my alltime topfavourite demoboyband #1 is back!!!
stylish, the music rocks, and so do the graphics and the overall feeling.
true, there are not really effects in this, but effects weren't the point of this demo in the first place. from the design point, this certainly rocks, and the amount of sync/composition work is huge in this demo.
big thumbs up for being not the same old song.

oh, and by the way - again a jormas demo seems to be absolutely underrated by the scene. this has been so for years.
there are demos above the "fancy looking vectors sheme".
this is one of them.
this is one of them.
Ok, my only two negative points first:
a) even ONE single effect would have been enough, please next time ;)
b) Slowly we know that the world we're living in sucks.
Apart from that, i love the feeling and the really great soundtrack. I'm SO glad to see that there are still people out there who can express themselves and don't fall into the trap of pseudo-important scenepoetry. No, this one is honest. Glad to have you "back" :)

This is the worst "demo" i ever see in my hole Scene live. I really hate this shit. I cannot explain how bad this it. Deltree da Jormas. 1000 Thumps down for this one. THIS SUXX.
i could do better things with powerpoint.
i respect DA JORMAS a lot.. but.. this is a lamecopy of FINN/gmunk http://www.gmunk.com/2001_NYC_transit/FINN_QT.html. Sorry.. but sucks..
Wow, that clip rocks! I wanna see a demo that REALLY looks like that... Now you MUST throw your thumbs up to Vesuri for at least trying :-)
No brainkiller, but somehow nice.

Best "ALTERNATIVE" Amiga group is back!!!!!
Respect.
Respect.
Killer design and good music. I like it.
If it only would have had some effects, it would have made a very interesting demo. It's like they're building up for minutes to something bigger, and then nothing happens. :-)
Bonus points for source and platform independence, though. :-)

i totally agree with trace... a poorly made ripoff with crappy code.
nice
Fan fucking tastic
Is Gameworld 2000 released yet?
I have the 19 minute soundtrack

I like this prod, it has no impressive effects, but it has nice style and music. Most graphics are photos.
Really cool themed demo. Nice photomaterial
^^
let you think and it's well done.
I like it.

Good atmosphere.

About the demo: true, there are no effects. There should have been some.

Style!
I missed this one!
Cool.
missing thumb!
Interesting
And the daily dose of Raspberry Pi ports: here
was (and still is) a stylish demo.
So Cool !
I enjoyed it a lot
Brilliant and stylish!! I love it.
Fucking excellent design and some brooding electro.
nice!
What, never commented? Underrated classic, still works today, superb soundtrack.
superb design and killer soundtrack
Beautiful.
so stylish!
so great to this very day
Always adored it, never commented. Sneaky late-thumb it is.
Not brilliant, a bit corny but surely good. I did like the colours, graphic style, the coherence.
