At Spectrum writing on the screen 1 pixel (1 bit) is macerated, going through the pixels is quite painful. Therefore, most intros work with colors by characters (or half characters), and so the resolution is quite modest. However, fullscreen pixelshader is not impossible on this machine (at 25 fps). If you think about it, you can see, since the formula for each pixel is a function of x, y, and t (mostly the sum of them), so the sub-function of y and the t are constants during a line, their computed value - quasi gives the line. So all you have to do is add the function of x within a given line, and extract one bit per pixel. Then you can put the bytes together from 8 pixels, so you can easily precalc one line in 32 bytes.
