Quite a long precalc, but nice idea.

This probably holds the platform record for the longest pre-calc in the history of pre-calcs :)

I experimented with similar technologies in the past; kudos for actually making it happen, even if I am not sure anymore, whether this achievement is in a positive sense or negative sense.

Hi guys, I am the author.

Yeah, the pre-calc is embarrassingly slow, but I had to re-implement the raytracer in the calculator VM of the ZX Spectrum, as otherwise, it would not have fit into the 1k constraint in pure Z80 code, which runs about 10 times faster, so it would STILL be a very long pre-calc, but instead of 4 days, it would take 10 hours or so.

As for disq: no, the contest rules explicitly allowed for snapshots AFTER the precalc, given that the original code fit in 1k. They did check that the original code produced the same animation, so I was not cheating.

@nagydani, I do not think anyone implied that you cheated.
It is a cool prod, even if it is not really practical for a demo compo.

Thanks to the author for explaining the situation, exact rules and why it was okay. On-machine computation is always a nice edge. Congrats! No mention about the inter-frame compression/decompression scheme? Also, @nagydani will you publish source code?
