Haha, this is mental! I love how true to the original it is! Good Shit!
:D
Ha. This is amazing.
Amazing stuff for the 2600!!!
Haaahaa :) Made my day !!
KK you've done a stunning job translating the soundtrack, lots of little details I picked out. Was really curious how this would sound when I heard about it and was pleasntly suprised. Great work. The demo is also rather bloody good :D
AMAZING! Quite an applause at the party ...
KK you rule.
KK you rule.
now THIS is a demake of my liking.
The platform difference is so huge it works fantastically as a tribute prod.

Yeah that's how it needs to be done.
FUCK MY GOD YES
the first 32k VCS prod I've been legitimately impressed by and really love. Great work!!!
Amazing. Finally a good use for 32k.
KK, soon to be called: ultimate de-maker.
Next level shit.
Vote. Repeat.
Yes.
very well done. but it gets a bit repetitive in the end as the original had more lasery sync details and camera cuts to keep the visuals interesting ;)
Waow...
(Is it my defficient ears or it sound like 3 channels audio (bass with continious sound + melody in same time + drums, round 0.44 for exemple) ??? How come ???)

Nice. =)
cool remake!

Nice work on the music, and especially the "tunnel"-like scene is really good looking!
Minor issue is that linecount seems to be off sometimes, my TV did some rolling at a couple of places.

Mindblowing. It's been long time I applaused something so hard @ the party.
Funny! A bit of work must've gone into this. Well done. :-)
Nice!
Now that's some hardcore demaking right there!
Really surprised me at the party. Props for doing a "demake" that was actually entertaining, it's more miss than a hit with that. While a lot of similar fx has been done over the years, to me this felt like a true next milestone since 2012/13 when it comes to design/music/fx.
I think that there has been tons of cool stuff over the years of course.
While this easily lands in personal top3, I still have to point out that the design is not original so I guess there is still something to aim for :)

The code doesn't push any boundaries but is solid, and the music is a great remix. What's outstanding however is that the demo inherits the dynamic pace and flow of the original, and as a result we have a "modern" demo style on an 8-bit machine - which is just lovely. :)
Nice usage of VCS capabilities to emulate original effects, like the lasers.

Ridiculous! :D
And a great conversion of the tune!

Completely enjoyed it. :) And what Slummy said regarding the tune, just great!
Awesome ! Really nice result !
Great stuff.

^_______^ Zip!
I wouldn't dare to run in on my own atari vcs, too scared to see the chipset exploding into peaces !!!!! Awesome jewel we have here thanks to you :)
Would have love to have the TTT file !!!!! (but I guess there's none right ? )
KK: I guess he means the Tiatracker file.
hehehe this is great
Hahaha, awesome. =D
I have to admit that when I saw DMA in greetings I thought for a moment that this is not KK production. But it was played as last entry...
Amazing VCS prod ! I probably wouldn't have done better on a PC ; )
lol, brilliant :D
effectwise the tunnel is the most interesting. the rest is pretty normal playfield stuff. intro logo is nice too

KK: Is that some new fancy VCS tracker under development?!?
Surprising !! VCS ?!!! Waouah !! So cool !
Good, good.
However! I would cut one minute out between 2:07 to 3:07, it's getting pretty repetitive at this point. But to be fair, even this extended minute is kind of true to original, as it was also a little bit repetitive/boring ;)

um, wut. i was expecting an atari xl remake, but not 2600/vcs. holy crap. great use of rom.
Quite an achievement
Ooooh, I love that tunnel... :)
Yeah, yeah.
There's not too much good quality prods for VCS. KK you're the man!

Very very entertaining!
Fun!
Wow! I didn't expect to see this demo remixed in that platform
@KK: thanks!
Definitely misses a lot of low end in the sound department, but I don't have too much negative to say other than that. Probably the most interesting 2600 demo after the wamma/trilobit stuff, though the ROM on this is almost an order of magnitude larger. Still while it's remake instead of codeporn this at least actually carries a solid concept. Far too rarely seen on the VCS, despite being shown possible about ten years ago already.
awesum!
Amazing, I like you made it loop so I can watch and rewatch on my VCS.
Stunning! KK is the best !
VCS scene rulez
KK's "usual brutefroce tool attack" to conquer the VCS. Great to have to you on board with your new approaches!
@allothers: Don't be shocked and keep on exploring your skills on VCS!

Party destroyer :D rules!
Very nice
Someone shared a video cap of it on social media and when I saw it I was thinking: "Cool, a new intro for my Atari 800 to try out" - Then I went to pouet and whoaah! Awesome demake on the VCS!
This put a big grin on my face!
It´s 5 mins later now and i still wear the joker-face! ;)
Awesome, awesome, awesome!
pure ♥

CHIPHORSE FFS!
Not bad. :)
wow
And here is my missing thumb:
Now that was awesome :D
Impressive style on VCS, lots of animation. Love the smoothness of it, especially the horizontal scrolling parts. Music is very nicely done.
Haha! This is the demo of the year!
Cool effects. TIA big room. Smallest ATARI rulez!
Kick ass prod!
magic
yup!
Very impressive!
Awesome!
Taking a demo for the most high-end demo machines and porting it to one of the most low-end demo machines, and porting it well -- that's impressive.
this production cannot exist, wtf!
that was pretty nice, would have been better if it was a remix of ziphorse ofcourse :)
:)
Really nice!
Amazing :)
KK for president..
Now do something amazing on the c64 next please ;)
Buzka ;)

The demo frequently looses sync on real hardware. First time when "EAT" gets displayed (minimal timer overflow for one frame). Enable TV Effect "Jitter/Roll" with 20 to see in Stella.
Any chance of a fix?

Nice!
Awesomeness!
Incredible rendition of Ziphead by CNCD and Fairlight! I wish i could upvote this 100 times.
Great to watch !!! Impressive what could be done on a console that saw the light 1977. And the Atari-VCS2600 also has many good games so everyone should have one. :)
normally vcs is too oldschoolish for me but this one was cool. impressed!
Oh my!!
covering this demo for VCS this way to be still interesting to watch is a big thing :) Congrats and thx for great fun on the party :)
Well done!
Great remake!
sweet
Immensely amusing and impressive! I'm one hundred percent convinced this demo would've stood on its own legs just fine even if it wasn't a remake.
KK, is there some interactivity hidden in the demo? I noticed that you sometimes read SWCHA before the dancing silhouette animation.
I am always interested into the code, and while looking for the occasional sync loss, I stumbled over the SWCHA access.
Truly amazing considering VCS specs!
Deserves a statue!
Hahaha, this is so much fun. Must have made the compo quite memorable. :D
I agree with Maali it gets somewhat repetitive after a while.

actually good demake
Effects and music are outstanding. Not a big fan of that remake hype, but congrats, its awesome as a standalone prod anyway.
Don't care about re/de/makes, but this is just wonderful for the machine under consideration.
impressive actually
Ziphead on an Atari 2600 seems i have forgotten to thumb up this one even if i have seen it a bunch of times and like the music and demo
same here. this is insane!
masterpiece
WOW!
Impressive, and probably the first 2600 music that I like! Thanks!

great
Atari 2600 !! Unbelievable...
Amazing VCS demo! Completes the Fairlight/Poobrain/Altair ziphead trilogy nicely
Wow!
Really cool!
totally great
Incredible in every aspect.
Amazing!
This is still so incredibly good. One of the best examples of a fully complete downport that does not skimp on the aesthetic of the original.
One of my absolute favorite productions ever.
