Wonderful! My favorite of all the entries this year. Great humor and execution in the separate letters, and well-made text animation. The only lacking point I can think of was "PLEASE OH PLEASE GET A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER"

No interest except in the 90s
Great job! Nice to see something like this in realtime, though using a 3rd party tool to me it's no different if this was a video made in after effects. Doesn't take away from the fact that this really excels in editing. Not too sure of the music, it's decent enough but lacks punch, and I really dislike the German English accent in vocals (not just here, in general, sorry :)). A native speaker would've been much more enjoyable.
Love it :).
Simple yet fresh & efficient concept, and great execution.
(except, indeed, the oral explanations of each letter are not very clear, accent and/or mixing could have been better)
Probably the coolest meta-demoscene-prod since 2001.

Simple and fresh, I liked it. :)
Sooo cool. This release makes me really happy in a lot of ways.
Nice trick, but way too long for what it is.
not that fresh and a bit long but somehow neat :D
"and try to mesmerize it"? I'm pretty sure you mean to say "memorize it." :D
Neat concept, good heart, alright ideas, but yeah, a bit cringy (voice acting *cough*) and long.

Lovely and fresh. :)
I'll definitely mesmerize this one from the party ;)
What others said. It's fun and it's pretty well done, but there are clear weaknesses (the actual saying of the letters, reuse of “axis” for X/Y/Z). Overall a weak thumb. This is the kind of prod you can only do once, of course. :-)
choice of colors, animation, conveys the spirit! <3
This one has written love and dedication for the demoscene in every byte
Go Gaspode!
Nice demo, liked it from A to Z. :)
T is for thumb up !
Sorry, didn't comvince me and that "A - Z Alphabet" speech sample got rather annoying after a while.. Still, as I understand the idea and dedication, I don't thumb down but leave a piggie here.
this is that kind of demo that i really don`t wanna see.
It`s boring.
It`s not an art.
It`s not funny.

That was brilliant. Every letter has it's unique idea and designed scene, it must have been some work.
Great
I like it. Nice way to visually get the letters to represent what the word is about.
I will mesmerize it!
I will mesmerize it!
I had to quit halfway because after the 4-5 minutes of loading time (irony) the framerate got so bad the audio started skipping.
Very very cool idea/design/style! Thumbs up!
You think this might be the cause? :)
Run much better the second time - some great typography and imaginative design there, tho I wonder if a fully flat solid-color look wouldn't have fit better. The aforementioned German accent didn't bother me as much as the idea itself of having a voiceover with rather tortured rhymes.

Nice demo. You get what you expect.
excellent music, cool idea. it's nothing, i would watch twice. but hey, at least it's unique.
I love everything about this, it's perfect as is, with all its imperfections. Great idea, great execution, lovely crafted transitions and animations, and a killer soundtrack #hookstuckinmyhead. Well deserved 2nd place and could have won in my book :)
a lot of good ideas and a good realisation
Best FONTS demo ever!
Great!
cringeworthy
Ah, I cheered so much when Gaspodes name showed up on the bigscreen. Great demo, like always! =D
nice schooling demo :)

Which doesn't really say much except for the fact that sometimes history isn't worth repeating.
A bit of constructive critiscism: If you do a demo where the vocals are a key factor, make sure they're audible. It was impossible to make out most words on the PA.
nice idea
Almost impossible to hear what was said at home with a headset or in my home studio as well, which is a shame. Some of the ideas in this was pretty damn nifty, but overall it dragged on for too long for my taste. Also "mesmerize it"? :)
From the comments I was expecting something far worse. Nice idea, cute design, sadly the audio quality kind of ruins this. How about a remastered final version?
I've had this very same idea for years, although mine would have been very different. Thumbs up for direction and the concept, the audio side would have benefited a lot from having subtitles.
Cute concept and okay execution with problems mentioned by others above. Overall piggy, and IMHO it placed too high in the compo.
(That compo had more tooll entries than unity entries... :p)

O_o--b
cool'n'smooth! I was almost certain that V would be for vector :)
I don't feel the vocals are cringeworthy at all. Having the lines spoken by a non-native speaker is part of this prod's charm. And it's thoroughly a very beautiful production no matter in what angle you look at it. So much heart and dedication. Cheers, Gaspode!
Hmmm I just rewatched the demo capture on YT, and the vocals sound a bit muffled, stronger than I remember from the party screening or is that due to subtitles that helped understand them?
So I guess mixing-wise there is indeed still room for improvement. But the accent does not bother me at all, it's good :)

i like it
I guess not the last time we'll see this. ;)
Yes, the voice is a bit thin, but the idea and implementation are really great. Technically not awesome, but demonstrations must entertain me especially. This makes it.
Nice idea, well executed.
Yeah. Cool idea. Good one :)
GREAT IDEA !
Should have won !

Something doesn't really work here. As gaspode usually delivers great stuff, this was probably just his weak day. It happens. Just a piggy though.
Cheesy but cute and fun, can't hate on this.
Voice is mixed too low as others mentioned. Coming from a native english speaking country (admittedly one with a terrible accent) I don't mind at all the non-native english accent in this. Personally I find something endearing about european accents and I think there is also something nice about showing the true origins production. If the accent was too strong to understand then that would be different but it is perfectly clear despite being a little too quite. I prefer this over a deliberate effort to find a native english speaker when english has so many accents as well. To me an american accent or english accent or south african accent is just as unusual to me as a german accent for example. Even within english speaking countries their are strong regional accents, would you use someone with a cockney or geordie accent even if they are native english speakers? Don't even get me started about mixing up australian and new zealand accents.
Forgot what my point is now but thumb up.

brilliantly done even if its cheesy and the typography effect thing gets a little boring along the way.
but hey, its a very stylish prod and even realtime (woohoo)!

Cool!
rofl. love serif.
As a demo, I really _really_ dislike this. I know where and what you want to do with this, but it's more a tribute than a serious entry for a compo, I'm not sure you expected to get 2nd place as well, so no hate for that.
As always, you are better at imagery than most in the demoscene and that is what keeps this above sea level for my taste. Drunk me probably liked this during the compo, can't remember, might even have sung along with it, but sober me isn't that fund of it though.

T is for Thumbs Up.
Voice could have been a tad louder, but maybe it worked well in the hall itself. Anyway, I laughed a bit. It does well. :)

Missing thumb is missing.! Hey, finally gaspode goes realtime :)
Fresh. A little long for its kind.
Nicely crafted but completely not my cup of tea and way too long.
I felt this was a bit cheesy.
Here comes the thumb :)
fun prod! loved it on the stream, and since it got 2nd place, i can only presume that it was enjoyable on the party too.
Phun :D
Added to my demoscene 101 playlist :P
Like it! Well executed idea. I agree on the voice being a bit thin though. I could hardly understand the lyrics...
I liked it a lot that the letters were pronounced by that vocoded voice. I thought that was essential to the theme. But yeah: try to get a musician to do some eq'ing next time. Very stong theme, so thumb up for that.
Awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome.....!
nice, but too repetitive.
a bit mixed about this. Piggie
Nice idea but I found all aspects super boring. It is about as interesting as reading a plain text file.

same here. just awful.
great atmosphere at the party, though nothing you can watch at home
Mega cool!
fresh idea & nice execution
Actually, i liked this despite the audio volumes being a bit unbalanced.
All the letters are introduced with a simple, yet consistent style with great attention paid to little details and the music suited the pace and style well.

ok
cool
Great idea.
Loved it.
Cube, really? Everyone knows C is for Commodore 64.
very enjoyable
classy and fun :)
i'm conflicted.
the idea is brilliant but i can't help but feel that with a bit more time spent on it it could have been 10x more powerful.
giving a thumbs up because there are some brilliant design ideas, but....

"E" is for Escape, which is what I pressed.
Shows that even a very well tuned direction doesn´t save a poor concept.

Fun to watch
Cheesy... yes, but still fun to watch with a lot of effort put into it!
Nice looking!
Missed this cool one!
nice
Lovely! The rhymes must've been hard to come with
