I just came. Me so horny!
Looked at it again and found it's probably done just like all other recent Censor Design scrollers (LUT => Attribute/Screen RAM). But the underlying patter is chosen very cleverly and moving it slowly to the right completely tricks the eye. I'd say, it's a perfect effect :-)

JAC: ever wondered how the impossible starwars-scrollers were done back then? just use a "texture" to distort width (andOr height) of your scrolling ;)
