Very funny ;)
Cool
as an arduino project: rulez
as a wild demo: sucks

Sadly I won't be at @party 2013, but if I would be there, I will surely want to give a try and play it. I think if the player could somehow create the demo effect by acquiring over time different properties and allow him to combine them together. Like starting maybe with just 1 single color, low resolution and text effect, then moving to getting more color, be able to create small shade palette and so on, to make it feel that there is a kind of creativity involve without having to write code for it.
Very nice product - and what a story of the making! :-)
And as much as we all enjoy lo-fi special soundchip characteristics, here is the real deal.

nice stuff :)
Technically hard to judge (but probably hard), visually quite incoherent unfortunately. The part with running around an asking people really gave me a laugh :-)
"I hope people realize the MOD music, speech and digitized ending music was coming from the hardware and not a video edit DUB."
I realized that, but honestly, it was way too muffled and low-fi. The whole demo is neat, but for some reason I did not like it at all. :/
AVRs are plenty powerful, and the Gameduino hardware is quite a beast as well, so it's not exactly impressive on a technical level either.

I was seriously wondering if that nes rpg part was interactive or not for some time there.
I really love the Pixelwork in this one, so thumb up!
