I had plans to make a demo called Devolution in 1997 or something. Duke then said that the title sucks and we changed it. Devo rules! Nice demo.

In my book this is a very good demo that I'll watch a few times again. There are lots of details to discover. Minor issues are not so important.

what wullon said. ati fix works here, although the particle parts are a bit sluggish. maybe not as in-your-face as some would like, but still enjoyable. a thumb half-up.

Loved the volumetric line rendering effect, loved the raymarch stuff!
(there's certainly nothing to complain about the design and effects here, but there's probably some technical / implementation issue around as during every scene change in this demo I'm experiencing some kind of frame rate stop taking about half a second)

Maybe you're running out of vram and that's the drivers reloading some textures or something? Everything is calculated and loaded right in the beginning.
Obviously deserved better than that 4th place...

It also crashed for me during the loader screen (saw the black screen with white bar) for my ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB of RAM) with Catalyst driver v9.7 in an old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine. :(

It does work on ati cards, download the 'atisuxx' version and update those old drivers

Thanks, I'm not good at debugging crash dumps but seems the ATI driver dll made the access violation. The atifix version only fixes the minor syntax error in shader code (which compiles with nvidia just fine btw).
