The daddy of 'The control' by Coma. Enjoyed it a lot when it was used as a display in a club I used to frequent. =)
I think this demo's sweet. I really enoyed it when I first saw it, and let's not forget that it's doing a fairly impressive job for trackloading off a floppy. Nice music too.
fantastic demo - great concept - always liked watching this, as every time u see it u notice more weird images flying by (like the rolex watch) heh... r0x!
real nice.
I like it too... quite a lot of video fitting on a floppy... colours are weird sometimes but that fits the rough style :)
was never too much into this one. its innovative no doubt about that, but the tune and atmosphere just doesnt do it for me.
Not quite so impressive these days, but groundbreaking for its time.
wheres the download link?
Video demos should've ended here. They didn't, though. Oh well.
first download link dead, emucamp link working, divx link dead.
i never really liked it. but i was very impressed by it back then
loved this one, plus it had killer music by papa smurf.
boring as hell
An ok demo, but I never enjoyed it as much as other people posting here.
0wns. Period.
I was in awe the first time I saw it. Not much effects-wise, but the overall design and atmosphere rocks.
yes, grab this prod :)
Enormous classic! I remember seeing this at the Berzan Datasekten shortly after it was released, me and our coder Johannes were amazed at how they had crammed all this video data onto one disk. Wicked production. (And it has a front 242 reference - bonus points awarded for that one. ;])
wow, this one could easily fit into some MTV 'Party Zone' back then :) Alongside with 9 Fingers ofcourse. a true pioneer!
Except the music, this still feels pretty fresh.
an awesome demo by fairlight, technically really impressive for 1993, a loooong (yes, blocky) video on a single 720k disk !
and the music is one of the best mod ever created, in just 50kb !!!

rocks!
Never really liked this...
Good 1993s blocky gear. :)
Thumb up for Front 242!
2 4 2 !
I do like it!

relaxing 242 !
This release has been added at: www.modcast.de, the daily Modfile Podcast and Radiostream resource.
great videostreaming code! once again some amazing ideas on this platform. the music is not at all like 242, though, and quite dull.
An amazing classic. I actually remember the 50kb size of the nice music. What can you get for 50kb music wise nowadays ? ;)
compression 101
not like this one so much, but impressive
@rez: 880 ko single disk (720ko=pc crap)

One effect & a bitchin' soundtrack ... all you need for cool demo ...
ok only
Classic stuff.
i forgot to thumb this?! classic killer
Always loved this.
Virtual Dreams rules!
Virtual Dreams rules!
What they said.
boring, but I would have cheered if had seen this in 1993, I guess.
Cool with video on amiga =)
Great one, i watched it so many times back then!
ahh yes, really cool
Fantasticly great stuff with a nice soundtrack.
video replay + overlays
i don't fancy it that much

Great!
it.ownz.
A positive exception among the awful techno demos of the time.
Wow. Not exactly something I'd watch often, but mega cool for its time and it has some very nice cyberpunk vibes.
holy christ!! this old thing even runs on 060 out of the box. nice one disk video :)
Crap. Boring boring boring. Technologically nice for its time but. BORING.
...
Did I say BORING? :)

Managed to watch it but never liked it much.
already a classic.
Class!
Gets boring after a while but still I loved this back then, awesome soundtrack!
LOVE.
It's a classic! All on one floppy disk..
And the music...rulez!
And the music...rulez!
In a world filled with junk, this is pretty damn good. look ma, no beat machine!.
Thanks Mindcandy vol 2
Thanks Mindcandy vol 2
like it!
Took me 17 years to get the whole Tetsuo reference thing. Duh.
29Mb of datas crunched to 720Kb is a nice thing, but the whole thing is quite boring...
.
I don't like it very much, it's boring and some visual effects are ugly. The music and the movie are ok.
=)
I know the demo is technically impressive, but it never much excited me. Music rawks tho.
love it and the track is awesome!
Back in the days in one disk, rulez.
Nice and catchy, 17 years later.
nice
720kb even ;)
overrated, ugly and boring.
incredible, stunning, amazing!
nowadays people got used to lots of of movie codecs - it simply became usual. i guess, most people seeing this now for the first time can not understand what it used to be back in the 1990's
besides that, "242" moved away from usual demo style back then, and rather became a new piece of art - and for me it still is.

I've never been a fan of music video style demos, especially so back then, but it's worth a thumb for the tech.
:)
retro
short, but classic, used to annoy my parents with this atthat time :)
Great idea !
Great technical demo with awesome video compression !
One of the ugliest amiga demos I know that has this level of recognition. Horrible music too.
If there would be an award for "didn't age well" demos, this one would certainly be a hot contender.
STONE COLD CLASSIC MOFOS!!!
When I saw this for the first time when it was brand new, I thought it was bland and not worth watching again, but in hindsight it was still a DEMO, exploring some new things. Nice production.
fond memories of this one.
Cool!
heady and catchy piece of intro. the music rocks.
In the past I didn't like this so much, nowadays I think it's a cool demo with a nice soundtrack :)
I appreciate the technical aspect, but it's not my cup of tea. I was never into digitalisations and poor techno ;)
Liked it back in the Times...
Not my cup of tea... In every possible aspect...
Incessant blocky playback with dweeby bleep music. :/
Certainly very techincally impressive at the time. Impressive "video-playback" for the era, but not that much more, besides perhaps the pop-culture-positioning. It did rule, though.
i mean.. its alright!?
