dila: It could be done faster in software. However, the OSX version runs well on my iBook G3/600, with 8MB ATi Rage Mobility, and the PC version flies on a Celeron 433, with ATi Radeon 7000 PCI... And these are nearly-a-decade-old hardwares. So, who cares. It weren't done to prove any kind of technical superiority (even if it runs well on relatively slow hardware, IMO), but for fun.
