Meduza got an upgrade! Very good.
*insert unrelated and pointless comparison to previous mfx demos here*
i have to watch this a couple of times but from what i saw at the compo this feels a bit too lsd for me. extreme amount of work nevertheless.

Typical mfx-ish style. Nice but why am I not surprised? :)
really good demo. i love this style and the graphics. but unfortunately the music is crappy. although thumb up.
nice work
Thumb up for the visuals, i will ignore the horrible soundtrack ;)
some more unrelated and pointless comparisons to previous mfx demos from me.
some scenes looked quite nice, especially that 'growing' in the end, although i can hardly recognize it.
mfx.

mfx.
Nice explosions. I bet we'll see them at simulaatio or stream :)
hohoho!
Fucking incredible!! As beautiful as MFX demos are, I'm not usually entertained by the single looping scenes, but this had some development and direction and was really good to watch!
Definite thumbs up, despite crashing my PC on the stonehenge type scene.
Definite thumbs up, despite crashing my PC on the stonehenge type scene.
excellent music and visuals! waiting to see the full quality version of it :) (since it was dtv stream)
Coolness! Great Explosions, Visuals and nice Music... Kicks Ass!
niko ja nikon räjähdykset. vitun jees
didnt like the music but the rest is fucking great!
music and demo did not fit. again one of those noisy bp06 songs that remembered to zeitmaschine fr.
this is an effectoverflow. perhaps sometimes less would have been more. i only give piggy here for a medium overall.

generally good coded production but music... ;/
great production!
good visual and nice music!!!
good visual and nice music!!!
I really enjoyed the music even tho it seemed a little flawed in places..
and what can I say about the code/visuals.. my goodness.. =O
and what can I say about the code/visuals.. my goodness.. =O
After very very long time MFX release a good solid quality demo, not only their usual epileptic crapthing. Modelling and music owns this demo. A true winner.
MFX created a very massive and imaginative presentation. Really Marvelous!
gods
This is awesome! great style!
normally i dont like such music but in this fine piece its fitting, it speeds up your heartbeat. ;)

Didn't really appeal to me that much for some reason, and also it crashed when it came to the Stonehenge-part. But nice work anyway
wonderful in many aspects but the music wasnt so good for my taste.
what the hell do you people smoke? this is massive. :)
teh besterest!
Simply excellent. The best mfx demo I have seen in a long time. And the music is right to the point. It doesn't get any more psychedelic than this :-)
Very well directed and the visuals are most of the time beautiful. The music is not so good, but who cares with such graphics :)
AWESOME!!! All the trance-goa-rave flyers mixed up in just one demo ;)
A shame that you're still sucking in the typography selection (even just for the loading screen).
However, the prod is great and i love the music.

I loved to get scared
not my partyfav, still a nice demo.
The track is titanic, however the demo is too chaotic. I prefer the stone henge end scene once the pace has slowed. The amount of work and talent shows, just doesn`t appeal to me.
fuckin' ace! i love you guys in a very non-sexual way (except from you niko. sexx0r me beautiful).
WOOOW!!! Great psytrance, great visuals and totally great directing! Phat! This is like a real fukkin kewl music video. Much of the experience is that the pace is so fast that you don't ever really get time to see what excatly is going on
Must be one of the best MFX demos for me as well! Very cool graphics.
... *gasp* I need air! Amazing visuals and incredible sync! Thank you!
after huge epic fights mfx is finally standing zen in demog0ds' stratosphere.
good effects and nice colors
\o/
ok, what can I say?
Excellent music, but what's displayed on the screen only gets a "meh" from me.
Annoyingly low framerate on most parts, and the explosions didn't look good at all.

Absolutely fantastic! Loved every second.
rocks!
Has a great noisy + disturbing taste.
dune wars goes lsd powered...
but, actually the goa music not my cup of tea , and retro-religious-popArt suxxs a lot, almost coder-colors crap...wtf those elephants and shiva paintings has to do with techno..

The second best MFX release of BP06, losing only to the Uncle-X at the monday morning rave party -video. But nothing could beat that.
Couldn't help it but this gives me some Matrix flashbacks. I don't know if that's a good thing but this rules anyway :)
JaK, this is GOA stuff, check a bit in google and you will see that everything fits. This is NOT techno.
masterpiece
reinvented the 'trancedemo' genre
matrix meets space harrier meets xmix
ruuuuuling. Best demo I've seen in ages.
JaK: just look at Matrix Revolutions :>
This is so awesome.
A bit too chaotic for me (too much stuff ?). Quite brilliant effects, but the colourscheme didn't grap me either. Well done anyways :)
Superb!
For some reason I have to watch MFX demos atleast a dozen times before I realize how good they are, but this time I already got it on the 2nd running during the price ceremony... This thing kicks ass! :-)
FINALLY the GOA demo! this is so cool I almost wet my pants during the price giving ceremony (I fell asleep during the pc demo compo). I've never seen so much detail and tuning of the effects in a demo before. The monster ship is just so perfectly evil and the weird psychedelic transitions from part to part are mind boggling. I think this will stay as my favourite demo for some time to come :) Absolutely brilliant!
Crashes on my computer. Looks great at parts, a lot less great at home than on the screen, very unfinished and I prefer Aether to this by miles. But it still rules.
wicked!
Awesome!!! Just nothing to say more
Landmark.
Ahh, this is awesome! Maybe my favourite mfx demo now. Too bad I can't watch it properly though, so a video please :)
Great stuff, maybe a bit too much for my brain... Definitely like the last demos better
the machines are digging!
.
what.
a.

the music is absolutely horrible ... not in all parts ... the beginning is quite nice but with approaching time it gets just flat and annoying. Nevertheless this Demo is a huge stack of work. Its technically brilliant allthough i think that there 'd been more possible with that engine. Some scenes are really nice, even some modells. Runs better than expected on moderate hardware.
By far the best Demo in BP06-PCDemo ...
(Very good but no rulez due to THAT Soundtrack)

at the party i just didnt "get" it at all, it was a bit of a sensory overload. watching it at home it made a lot more sense. =)
some lovely scenes in this - the glowing "grass", and the explosions for example.

Music is pure hardcore poetry.
But the whole thing looks a bit too messy and flashy.

Awesome fits definitely :)
a bit messy but still cool.
matrix in a balletdancer
one of the best mfx releases
Impressive amount of work in a visually mindblowing experience. Every piece in this one fits so perfectly together. Awesome production, and the best in it's genre.
Still goa music and goa themes leave me kinda cold, but that's just me.
Still goa music and goa themes leave me kinda cold, but that's just me.
And then, MFX entered the ASD league. :)
Loved it :)
Deserved to win, and rightfully so it did!
felt strange, felt disturbing, some fxs were just astonishing, all in all: felt good
very strange production, but hey - it's outstanding and brilliant! more!
Full of greatness and weirdness! So, I like it...
screen overload at some time. The music really made it at the party but I don't get into it that much now.
All in all, it's a great show but I'm missing something .

Yea kinda reminded about ASD :) But it was cool, loved the transitions.
amazing demo!
i love it!

pikzel says: cute!
one of the bestest demos of all time! i LOVE the industrial edge and the graphics, colors and code are simply in a league of its own.
ganesha says: awesome!
ofcourse!
I could say stuff about how fucking incredible this demo is, but I'll just say: wow.
Definitely one of the best mfx prods ever.
And trace was right, even if it only appears 2 times, change that typography!

Kickass. Waiting for the video. Or OsX version. Well, I prefer the video...
FooLman: I've made a 600 MB 1280x720 50fps mpeg2 capture which probably will be put online tomorrow...
Monstruous !
The part i prefered is the explosion of one of the 3 big ships.
The part i prefered is the explosion of one of the 3 big ships.
The best demo in 2006. Even bettre than the previous one . A good mix of hard coded effects and 3d scenes. This will be hard to beat for sure.
well. only thing i didnt like, was the music, rest is ace!
the matrix meets goa trance for world domination. you guys are sick!
Go Cthulu, go Leviathan! Death to all the new gods. Muahahahaaa
this is huge. I still feel again the low-freq of the music spreading in my body during the show while being completely hypnotized by the images. GREAT.
Though it runs but crashes after a while on my now-dead GF4 Ti4600. (on the multi-eyed electro beast).

I saw there are some neat pics and textures in demo / data folder which was not used in party version demo.
Will you use it in final ?
Will you use it in final ?
aether with more explosions and less ballet dancer. Still kicks ass. Hoping no one else tries to imitate poorly (:
now where did I put that acid? nice.
altho it crashed on my atix700 these fantastic effects convinced me mfx are too cool to rule.
It was OK. A bit blurry, but still cool.
nuff said
All of the above.
holy crap!
The music wasn't my cup of tea, but the visuals make up for it. Crash right near the end for me. Still a great prod and I look forward to the final.
pornographic!
hahaha.. the spacemonster scares me.. it is not evil, but it has a purpose that serves its own kind and it is not a humanish purpose.. about time we had some demos that are not about love/hate/politics and other boring human cliche crap. :) more alien lazer purpose I say! ALIEN DOES NOT WANT COMMUNISM OR CAPITALISM OR BORING STUFF... ALIEN WANTS TO WIN DEMO!
goa demos for the ppl!
Damn!
And the Stonehenge scene was INCREDIBLE! Nice work!
Music is ...... (bad)
lot of works in design and direction
so just a piggy
because unfortunately it's not my cup of tea
next time perhaps and no more horrible music

The best aspect of not having anything to do with this prod is that i can thumb it up, because the guys truly deserve so!
Good work (and the music is awesome, expecially the noise-ambient twists).

This is so incredibly fucking excellent.
Really cool and refreshing. Looks like a blend of XMIX 2004 and Aether somehow.
P.S: WTF?! MFX now use evil shaders technology? :)

...awesome coding skills and a very own style but it's getting boring over the years... but, anyway, it's like the n-th sequel of a coma light, no way to thumb it down. Damn.
video please? :-/
This totally fucking rules. It has a quality track with visuals true its own concept all the way through.
Undoubtedly this was the best demo in pc compo.
It won not because it is so amazing and breathtaking, but because other demos were not so good. It didn't have real competition.
Nothing fresh and surprising. Ugly music and colors.

kinga: ugly music and colors...
what do you know about electronic music girl?! especially about psy-trance? colors was ugly? which one? :> this is psychedelic club visualization style, not colourbook with unicorns, flowers and rainbow...

No bashing, more time = more finished demo. Looking forward to it!
unfortunately crashes right after initializing on my AMD XP 2400, 1GB RAM, GeForce FX 5900 128MB ... :|
I wasn't really paying attention to the bigscreen when this played at Breakpoint, but now that I've seen it on my alienware, I can truly say:
Holy shit!
Holy shit!
I get GL_INVALID_OPERATION after about half of it on my 9700 mobile :( but the demo rocked on the bigscreen :)

and runs smoothly in 1600x1200 even with 256 ram :)
pretty good, stil consider the ambient-musicdisks to be the best works of mfx though
trippy. glue sadly crashes inbetween on my home machine, so i have to go with the memory on when it was shown at bp, or wait for the video.
anyway, looking forward to what comes next.
anyway, looking forward to what comes next.
epic production. Congratulations !. It feels about 8 minutes, it is around 5.15 ? I would run it again and again, however it just doesn't run on my machine.. (5600.. ).
The very first scene was very stylish but then i was let down by your typical cast of demoshit like spikeywormythingies within tunnels. uh! Some very nice effects (good to see the "light bleed") but the whole thing feels so damn demoish. You can tell that the crew didn't include any French designers :)
"but the whole thing feels so damn demoish."
coincidence ? you know what, it is a demo ...

really great
i actually wanted to watch it again at home, but my sucky computer (P4 + Radeon 9800 pro) just freezes in the middle of the demo
anyway, i really love it despite the fact that my sound system can't really compete with the party's one and imho, this changes the experience A LOT.
congrats mfx

This one was cool!
now THIS is a demo. way to go
it made me fell asleep in the compo. it's nothing i expected of a party winner. but then i saw it again and i grew to like it more and more. this demo is mystic.
it has a consistent visual style - it's psy colors and not ugly colors (Kinga). like, if you never heard about rock music before, you won't get why those guys are painting themselves black.

final version is better :)
The final version crashes here when the creature is supposed to detach from its rose-like stem.
When I click compo version it works.
When I click compo version it works.
Oh now that's strange, the crash does not happen in all resolutions. This happened at 1600x1200
I got this crash, but after I forced Anti-aliasing and anisotropic to off in my nvidia driver settings it didn't crash anymore.
I still had to leave to Antialiasing box checked in the demo settings.

great demo, i really dislike the music though
well again top notch from the technicaly aspect.
Music went completely opposite to the title (content) IMHO ... deities and trance doesn't fit for me.
In the end isn't it time now to change the colorsheme, finaly ?
Most visuals were great arranged, but the tune ruined all.

i had to watch it several times to make up my opinion.
the visuals are awesome, the psyke-ness really feels nice. the music is too psy for the average demoscener it seems, but too me it's great - better than most stuff thats released in the psytrance-scene today.
in israel they'd shout killllaaargh!

just as impressive as it has been on the big one.
great one. i really liked the music.
awesome!
I must say I am very surprised by the comments on the music...It's a great psy-tune which fits in a particular way to the demo. I really enjoyed it during the party (and the gated voice has something really deep and fascinating).
But eh, I won't fight. Just a matter of taste :)
But eh, I won't fight. Just a matter of taste :)
Holy shit this is awesome! Demo of the year :)
you made me love mfx :)
i thought that your demos are, tho visually very stunning, all in all a bit boring to watch, but this proves otherwise.
very very very good work.

very very very good work.
please somebody share it with the lamers, release a video version :p
Given the release of the final version which does not crash on my machine, I've given it a couple more views. The demo is simply great. The music track has grown on me a bit and is a part of what makes the whole package. The one thing I noticed.. When watching this demo, it captivates you. After it's over, it's like suddenly waking up from a very funky dream and suddenly the world is present again. I salute MFX for creating such a masterpiece. I'd like to see more, maybe change the music to a little more 'trance-y' sound in a future prod or two.. Deities is a great piece of work. If I could make my thumb up go higher, I would. :)
videovideovideovideovideovideovideo. now. :)
video is on demoscene.tv
chaotic, deep and unintelligible and and rulezz
just watched it on DTV ( btw it sucks major donkey's ass that DTV needs ActiveX. I had to use that #@! of IE ), anyway...
what a trip!!
what a trip!!
p01: This is what I did: Login, view page source, copy url, download the 38mb nsv file. logout. :)
tomaes: :p thx, I'll probably make a userJS to automate that and avoid teh horror of using IE or installing a bloody plugin to have ActiveX
gargaj: there can never be enough lsd.
Finally downloaded video from DTV, good demo!
nsv si teh evil. any hope of having an XVID/DIVX version?
I will provide a h264+aac version to anyone sending me a mail.
Nice visuals but not really my taste.
obviously a GREAT demo
but somehow I got that feeling that this was more of the same, kind of a aether 2
but somehow I got that feeling that this was more of the same, kind of a aether 2
Too much glow. Way too much glow. Too. Much. Fucking. Glow. Also, crashes at what I'm guessing is about 80% through the demo.
Other than that, well done!
Other than that, well done!
uncle-x It consistently does when I go beyond 640x480 with high antialiasing settings. Granted, that's probably nvidia's fault, but still, the end result looks similar :)
Looks impressive and very unique. The music is good and fits the visuals perfectly. Powerful demo, I'll be watching it very often I think!
knos: thanks for the opportunity, but couldn't find your email anywhere... your profice says hidden...
Could you provide me the video, though?

I fell asleep during THIS! (How, one wonders)
uncle-x: maybe the final shouldn't crash but it really should have a video hopefully by tomorrow :)
mechanical tenia travel on mediocre music
it contains probably some recycled stuff from Aether
there is perhaps some interesting effects but finally it becomes quickly boring

... wow. spaceships inspired from macross rocks :)
and music. wow :) this is in my favourites now..
what the...?
I like it, it's beautiful and shimmering. If I were to make it I would probably relax the flashing and flickering a little, and the glow thing that makes the colours way too saturated once in a while. Otherwise it's brilliant.
A good solid production. The blood splatter effect felt like a new thing and the fuzziness made for good ambience. Fades to white a bit too much though.
Thump up for final version.
Amazing experience..
Amazing experience..
after seeing this every day for a couple of weeks I feel that some of the up to white transitions are a bit too long and that the final tree effect is a bit rough because of the popping/sorting.. strange textures in the data dir compared to what is actually in the demo :) is the middle part of the 'stone henge' scene the ass of the spaceship? such that it grows a tree out of its ass? I kind of like the idea that the ship is some kind of seed, but it probably isn't.
Weird, I havent commented this yet. After watched this demo numerous times I have to say it's just brilliant, all effects and syncs are really nice. I spot new things everytime and last time I spotted all three Jesus childs :)
Kixx0r
what a trip!!! i can't find the words to describe it!@! even if the thing is 'too busy' from time to time the overall impression is awesome.
the scenes look very complex as if they originate straight from a dream and go "deep". the only boring one is the bananahenge at the end.
the music: i'm a sucker for this shit! fucking speedy trance stuffs!
it's great, need to check again..

And fine fellows, pleased me. I will say current one. Before I liked in mfx conception of works
and ideas. All was simply and topically in particular for me (dose 2,mother, mother my ears bleed,
sotakone and more...). Now I like mfx as
profess. product of demoscene. How I must be I do not know! Thank you mfx after your works. CPU LOVZ U!

Really doesn't work for me, maybe it was the god-awful music. Some nice visuals though but strugling to give it a piggy :(

great fx, bad music
Beautiful in every possible way. Some of the best effects I've seen in a while.
Gets better with time even - amazing detail
One great piece of demo stuff...
Good remix 1in10 by the way (http://www.psychedelic.be/jamroom/download.php?band_id=28&song_id=44&mode=song_hifi)

Messy.
I was really close to give it a thumb-down but I realize that it would be a thumb-down for the hype, not for the prod.

Because of the visuals.
One of the very best - the scene with the waving grass around the monoliths is awe inspiring!
mfx simply rule!

Music was not really my cup of tea but loved everything else in it.
Nicely done hectic visuals, with a fitting soundtrack. Good job.
Fantaaaaastic soundtrack! Excellent effects - very nice show to watch!
Some of the animation looks a bit awkward, but the atmosphere absolutely rocks.
Crashed :(
still completely awesome.
wow. just wow.
good stuff
nice work!
Impressive! And this madness on the screen is true mfx!
crashes after a minute or two here, but it's definitely awesome!
good stuff
Lots of eye candy. At 1680x1024 it's a bit too much for my T7200 / GF Go 7700, but it sure looks good.
well if there's 1 thing to complain about -- it all transitions so quickly that i dont get a proper look at all the fx
i'll try it at home, in the dark, on a big screen :)

more late thumbs from me. this was my first actual demoparty and the first real goosebumps!
This was damn good! The MFX trademark filters look incredible and I really felt that I was being led somewhere unknown.
Great atmosphere, superb music, "dirty" image filters. Yes.
Looks abit like BF2142 and nice music :)
Bestest, music is a bit meh.
always hated this demo: bad music, too much "piu-piu" laser gun shit, LSD colors. not my cup of tea, but all the work and shaders save it from thumb down.
aye
Fantastic demo! Great ending screen on there, the music is also really cool.
What an optical and audio trip...
better late than never. this is outstanding.
nice
Aum Namah Shivaya!
TOTAL KILLER
i know it used to run perfectly well on my machine a while back, but now i just can't get it to run in fullscreen. i always get the following error right after launch:
"failed to initialize 32bpp mode (framebuffer alpha channel is required"
anyone knows a fix?
my hardware:
E6600, 8800GTS 640MB, WinXP SP3, tried several WHQL and non-WQHL forcewares to no avail.

i enjoy this one a lot. the visuals and the music are a nice fit.

fairly odd
KORYUKEN
!! :)
well yes :) naturly.
Despite my strong feelings for this demo, I somehow never got around to giving it my thumb. Well, here you go! :)
W.T.F.!
Never managed to give me any kicks.
the video arrived meantime, and so do the thumb now
Superb
Yes, brilliant.
love
Intense trip and an interesting story.
I love this demo, it's probably my favourite PC (windows) demo ever made. Incredible graphics and great effects, featuring one of my favourite tunnels ever (the reddish/greenish one). The soundtrack is excellent goa track, that just enhances the immensly psychedelic mood here. Insane ammounts of detail and the overrall quality of this demo makes me jsut adore it.
Huh?!? Not commented yet!
Trippy!

This must have rocked on the bigscreen. Probably needs a huge sound system and a non-sober state to really appreciate
It totally rocked on bigscreen at Numerica 2008.
Creates a surreal atmosphere even when sober.

A bit weird for me, but more than okayish.
Super sweet!
how could i forget to thumb this??..
could be exceptionally good (for the video), but music totally spoils it for me.
Awesome!
extrakewl!
Got to love the soundtrack
FULL ON! \o/
Reminds me alot of one Track from animatrix soundtrack.
But the visuals together with the driving beat are just great!
Had to rip it in HQ and uploaded it to YT

Nobody does rave demos better than you guys!
for the concept
psychedelic.
its ok but nothing mindblowing
:~
Such concentration of style in one demo is prone to cause black holes.
Greatest !
The final version (03.05.2006) do crash (exit after preloader).

RESPECT.
I, for one, am a deities fan.
Intense trip. Didn't like the monotonous track at first, but then it grew on me and Ihave to admit it fits perfectly.
decided to run it realtime again,
enjoyed and remembered where it used to hang up sometimes on my old sys,
had the inner lol when it hung up just after doing the main job.
great demo one can never forget! :)

What a (LSD) trip! Incredible goa trance music.
oh, at the beginning I though that finally I found what I had been looking for, but no...not yet, but it is look like a massive effort anyway
