Great job. My favorite platform game's music disk with a simple but good looking interface. I'll listen this one very often these days for sure :)

Curses! Virus checker won't let me run it, as its a "generic packed" virus (presumably its a generic packed executable, which could in theory possibly be a potential virus)

Nice! But nothing special! Except the tunes from Turrican! And why 100% cpu usage??

Remains a classic no matter what. <3

music is ace, but hey.. uhm,. the text in the window disappears for a while, i get maxed out cpu usage (i think, it says 50%, but i got HT),.. and i cant select no mono/mixed sound so its totally annoying in headphones x)

yepa, it works also on my pc - an old 700mhz athlon device...

it needs some cpu power but is a nice idea. Due the reason that it is a trs release, i will not make a vote ( ownvoting sucks =)
the music rocks so much. thx for bringing some golden moments back!

Seems to be buggy, music lags until left mousebutton is pressed.
Couldn´t access the subsongs ;(
The original Hülsbeck TFMX were used, therefor it´s nothing special.

Agree with the two posters above me. Why not play the original SIDs or convert them to mp3s?

"Why not play the original SIDs"
...they are the original files from turri2 amiga, tfmx not sid

Ah, silly me. Still. It didn't even start playing on my computer, I had to kill it via task manager (though I have driver issues anyway..).

hmm, mcafee reported a trojan inside "TRSretrodisk1.exe" - anyone had any trouble with this, or is my antivirus software a bit sensitive?
added on the 2005-11-11 20:28:34 by Hyde Hyde
Oh, and I'll thumb up anything that's even remotely connected with turrican.

out of curiosity: are there players for that format around? As I recall the title songs used a non-standard format (multiple channels??) and the player routine ate a good chunk of the rastertime available on the a500.

I remember an old Andromeda disk with Turrican sounds on it. Those were the days. :)

I simply like the attempt...

Wasn't there seven voice mods in Turrican 2 on Amiga ?

that stuff was already boring on the amiga, how about OWN music? :P

With this meaning you´re nearly allone - and we got also own musaX =) but we know that many people miss those ol original ( TFMX ) tracked music.

Yes, Turrican 2 and 3 using 7Voice Routine of TFMX but ONLY the Intro and Outro sounds of turrican. The ingame Sound used only the 4 hardware chans of the Amiga due the reason that the 7 voice routine would take to much cpu power during the mixing process.

GreetZ, AMI
Damn just tristar deservs a thumb up and and oldschool product like this even more

Nice idea. Nice music. The coding can be done better. For example: The scroll routine isn't properly synchronized.

definitely rox. good work tristar, once again!

Hyde: The format is TFMX (The Final Music editor, eXtended). There are something like four variants; two four-channel ones and two seven-channel ones (with 7-channel routines apparently based on Jochen Hippel's Amiga player).

As for players, there's Deliplayer on Windows, various Winamp plugins, Peter Palowski's Winamp plugin that re-saves them as one-filed taggable .tfm files, and foobar2000 by Peter that functions just like the Winamp plugin he wrote...
There's gotta be at least something for Linux and Mac.
