Best PC demo ever. Full stop. Perfect. 5000 years ahead of everything else. md's track is the most twisted piece of aural design ever made. If I ever die, I want a monitor embedded in my thombstone, playing this demo in loopmode. Download, watch and rest in piece.
they invented the minimalism everbody immitated... the original still rocks! cool soundtrack.
Just the best demo i've seen. Perfect.
i'm an addict.
No! No! No! I don't like this demo at all!!!
Not only flat polygon "design" whatsoever trend,. But Now it's also in Black and White!!! Heh.. the world is just so funny =)

optimus, just fyi: this was the demo that STARTED the flat poly/layers trend.
disapointment. this demo doesn't work for me - it is well done containing a lot of number-design-elements which is nothing really original (were they first? were? so WHAT?).. the music isn't anything special as well.. for me TE-2RB has no face.
and then these annoying credits which are cycled twice.. just why finnish, polish and russian people mostly tend to show their real names in credits? why using handles then ;D
TPOLM surely did better things than this one.

This is what design is all about. Not by favourite demo, but this is a great demo with impressivly bold design. And ofcourse MD is the greatest.
this is nuskool icon. the demo that started it all. the milestone of design. the bridge between demoscene and professional typographic/video/performance arts. I watched it at least twice a week back when I had a second DOS/GUS machine on my table, now I don't have that machine temporarily and I feel like I'm missing my weekly fix.

Oh yeah right.. Nobody ever made flatshading earlier than '98.. Right? ;)
Also ... Sucky groups today (i dont say tpolm sucks tho invidually..) also use flatshading.. just because... sucky polygonfillers (software) or well... lazy (80% of the cases in accel since GOOD textures are HARD to make so they say.. lets do "dezin" instead)
as you might understand dezin aint for me.

lator, what is your point? this demo is 100% brilliant!
Lator doesn't have a point.
Brilliant demo, not the cornerstone of flatshading and layers (come *ON*), but a must-see anyway. without a doubt one of the best audio tracks ever used in a demo.
I used this demo to initiate people on the demo scene. That was a perfect excuse to play it again and again and again and....

great piece, should be seen and experienced if you havent done it already. nice all together.
hey lator, just shut your little trap and get real, i doubt anyone is interested in your little one man crusade across the demo scene, you only make yourself look stupid. btw.. learn how to spell design before even using the word, bitch.

love it.
anyway. if you like some prod, it doesn't mean that everyone else should like it too.
though lator does act like a complete retard. no offence mate.

this is one of the few demos, I can watch again and again after years. the style was asskicking fresh when it was released and the soundtrack is brilliant. a true classic.
(funny thing: somehow this demo looks better when it runs on a rather slow computer :).

I actually burned the track to a cd for 'car-usage' two years ago.
It frikkin' awesome. (yes the rest of the demo too)

You may like this demo or not - but you cannot question its originality (when it was released) or its influence on later demos.
Personally, this is in the top3 of my all-time all-platform demo hall of fame.

pengerkadun posse:n massive!
i could vote this thumbs up just for md's music.
but also for his typography
in relation to fthrs design.
and some of the wireframe scenes which look plain cool in b/w (bakkslide7). :)
i guess some of the 3dmodels could be polished a bit (especially the tunnels), but i guess it wouldn't fit the dirty/messy concept of the design if it were too neat and perfect.
all together a very slick demo with just enough sceneduration to keep it interesting. go tpolm :)

Indeed a trendsetter!
This design, style and sort of music is now common, but this was the first. Do I need to say that it's wonderful? (:
5000 years ahead.

break all!
One more demo to suck
delicious.
I'm kinda indifferent to this. I like the typography and music but those 3d-scenes are pretty crap (and slow to boot).
And what the hell does 'One more demo to suck' mean?

I am no glop whore, but I gotta post again in this case.
I think that the people that puts off this demo are missing the point. Of course you can dislike it, but do not discredit it. I am not going to be a crap-critic trying to figure out "what their authors meant". But I think that the guys behind this prod, have proved to the scene in past productions that they can, in fact, do the most awesome eyecandy. In this case the fact that there're flat visuals is not because the coders are crap, gimme a break.
I remember that when I watched it for the first time I went "NOW, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?". I had to watch it again.
Look at the release date and think about the stuff that was being released back then. And try to say "not original, nothing to see here" again.

track is lush as fuck.
the 3dscenes could do with some perspective, they kind of felt loose when i saw them. win32 version required.. no news about that sadly :/
and of course they actually spent some time on the typography. it was a very promising demo, lack of time again... wish i could see it, haven't for the past 2 years.
damn lush track.

Perfect Atmosphere and music. It simply blows you away every time you see it.
Gruiiik! this baby rocks!

Very abstract, technical looking demo. I didn't liked it that much when looking it first. But it's indeed probably the most serious and polished demo by tpolm!
difficult digestion for my humble being, music it's pretty cool 8)
like this alot, it is very cool in a dark room. Music is super. Also good typography
finish the win32 port already!
comment above.
a shame that we can't see this one in the top-ten.

rocks.
let's make it to the top ten :)
dis shit don't run on my system! know it! :D
can't recall seeing this one in 98, so I just watched it... and I don't think I've missed anything special... can't say it's crap, but it's not THAT good either
brite: try rising the volume abit. might help..
one of my all time favourites
I haven't voted so far? Godfuckingdamnit!
te-2rb hasn't lost its appeal during all this time and won't lose it in another 4 years to come. A must for every demo compilation.
wont lose in the next 5000 years.
I have watched this demo already four times today. I just love the music and the style :)
the beginning of modern demodesign
just a voting...
perhaps one of the best demos ever made.
soundtrack owns.
click.tap.snap.tick.knock.rrrrrrrrettriggerrrrrrrr!

The godfather of all flatshading intros and demos. Minimal b/w design at it's best. Still, I don't like it THAT much.
allready four years and still inspiring. very few demos had the the same impact.
yeah definitely one of the biggest step in graphical demodesigns and demo soundtracks.
marvelllous. allmost a cult if not a religion. at least a drug..

Ohyeah. Just clicked download at home a few seconds before going off to work, can't wait to get back there :)
Yes, this is definitely cool. One of the few prods that I remember having felt like something entirely new when I first saw it.

ahh.. first square win32, now this. boys - your mother might be a motherfucking giraffe but it doesn't change the fact that this demo is brilliant.
(now all we want is all jaska intros ported to win32, too :)

an amazing demo with some nice new features in win32... and I think jaakko's tune is my favourite tracked tune, ever. I love it so much.......
like it. win32 port. cool
the win32 port doesn't look right.
ok. now it did. bug?
the win32 port looks spiced-up :)
the win port looks buggy.
anybody solved the crossword already? :)

i solved it and i know the dirty secret of the win32 port :D

Mhmm, I found it by just digging through the exe and that's imho much easier than solving the crossword. :)
Oh please, the crossword was dead easy :)
Was a bit confused first about what to do with the damn thing after solving it. Even though a quick peek at the infofile would have cleared that up.

the 'life+fashion+vision' remix is so fukkin great that I finally have to give a 'rules'. :)
remix is great - but its not md's best tune :( - i keep feeling some 'power' or dome 'drive' are missing
MD track is great!
then get the musicdisk (part 2)!
thanks for everything.
data
This demo is brilliant. A massive-on-your-face with emotion ja impeccable design. Nevermind the little cracks between textures here and there. This demo is definitely worth to remember.
Oh and MD's soundtrack. Damn. I had heard this track before on that MD musicdisk that Xilo, L6 and other classics. Superb!

A different demo with an amazing soundtrack, nothing else to say.
You can do so much more in 256 colours with greyscale. Nice DOS production, and against the norm.
awesome. has the feeling.
i just rediscovered this one.
haunting soundtrack and cool typography.
Moral winner (or at least it would be a good 2nd place after Crionics' Loco) of the compo.
great atmosfere
wow.. '98. respect.
Sometimes I dream of having thumbed prods on pouet... but it's only a dream.
very cool
=)
classic
Best demo ever.
there is no escape from te-2rb ;)
the music is better than the demo
This didn't work for me... Piggy for design and music;)
top-notch forever
yeah, i love this too.
elektro dark music,
introduction words, title and group,
transparent black&white polygons 3D TV, clipped in a square with some numbers changing randomly under it, rotating
3D geometric figure, wireframe, distorting
3D filled polygons background rotating, a title of random letters on it, light alternating dim/bright
through some kind of 3D polygons tunnel
object, 3D, wireframe and polygons, morphing, stretching
credit words, with 3D rounded object behind
flying through some tunnels, random letter overlayed, different effects
to end some connected lines moving, tpolm copyright

my missing thumb
forever classic.
incredibly good
a new demoscen era was born after this demo.
.
cdc for a original msdos version! :)
What rez said. And fuckings to me for not having thumbed that demo up knowing it's in my top10.
classic
wat? forgotten thumb is not forgotten anylonger.
An extraordinary demo. The music, the mood, the atmosphere...
Excellent!
wow, beautiful
no thumb? fixed.
After seeing it for the first time, my thought was that the first scene felt too long - but midway I really started to hope it won't end at all. It's darn stylish, still today - man I have to watch it again right away <3
Works well on W7-64bit with DosBox.

bloody amazing soundtrack, and an amazingly captivating outcome
Updated screenshot/youtube for good measure. :)
ah so its here the song i had stuck in my head for 5 years comes from an old MS-DOS demo :)
n
okish
w00t! nice
sad the track doesn't get more intense but awesome in it's simplicity and great glitchy visuals.
I guess it's nice, but I find it boring..
the design alone is a thumb up, the additional feeling this prod gives makes it a classic that I love to watch again and again!
enjoyed watching it again
i like it
fukken blurry polygonal\line mess in monokrome 640x480 under great trippy soundtrack. for the style! :)
I Really love the massive music from this time. Unbelievable design, and dark and moody flair. Here Tpolm functions as archetype for some years of impressive demo design with astounding IDM music.
Pretty much the quintessential late-90s IDM & random text overlay demo. Can't believe I hadn't thumbed it already.
now that is a smooth and stylish prod!
I liked the first minute but then it didn't go anywhere and I got somewhat bored. Not a bad demo by any means and it sure is very stylish (and the music fits perfectly) but I may have to watch it more often to really appreciate it. Pig for now.
Still love it!
Surprised I hadn't commented before.. since there were only 6 comments from 2003 between the DOS and Windows ports, I'm going to assume I commented then and it got lost. :)
One of the highlights of the large TG'98 PC demo compo. It was my first European party and Snowman/Hornet and I were tasked with handling entry files. We used our newfound authority to push back the PC demo compo deadline, resulting in at least 25 entries (15 were shown). I got to meet Axl and Thor/TPOLM, who brought this along. It wasn't quite like anything else at the time.. maybe a little Orange inspiration. Of course, it inspired other IDM/mono demos for a couple years. The music really makes it stand out. If you can get your hands on the mashup of TE-2RB and Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Real", it's a brilliant piece of remix work.

turn-of-the-millenia style demo at its finest
Still one of my all time favs.
what StingRay said
Superb music and trendsetting design.
Only snag for me is that you can see the clipping algorithm divide up the wireframe triangles against the screen border in the tunnel parts. This may or may not be cool according to your clipping fetish.

An odd cookie, but I like it!

beloved štuk
the demo that changed everything. pure white magic
What a little jewel. This demo creates a strange kind of atmosphere with a great tune that matches perfectly. The flow is so smooth so it is still a pleasure to watch. For me an alltime classic demo.
Beautiful prod!
that music is so huge, also demo too
love the design, and atlhough i like the music, i'm not too fond of the low sample rate of the snares...
i liked music, but the scenes were hit and miss... a lot of potential though.
oops posted on wrong prod -.-
New Skooll era?
i love how the music soo much fit to the demo
:)
lovely one
