- demo Linux Windows Pilot by miniHakkerit [web]
- 280MB (of which there's a 146MB rust.dll) for a minute of kaleidoscoping makes me sad. :(

- I'm so ready for some next level shit.
(This is nowhere near.) - isokadded on the 2025-08-25 18:01:44
- demo Windows ARBO by Crolyx
- It's very strange to see a "my first OpenGL1.1 tutorial"-style demo running in HD made in Unity.

- demo Windows Falling by Gaspode
- Strange one, it has that ASD-esque high-concept idea with the progressive music and foley and one uninterrupted shot, which almost feels like a James Bond intro sequence, but doesn't really have the visual fidelity to pull it off and look and sound coherent. (I wonder if it wouldn't have worked better if it would've gone with a more "traditional animation" feel, no shading, just solid colors, silhouettes, maybe a bit of edge wiggle + 12fps, that sort of style...? I dunno.)
I respect it because it clearly aimed high (and Lord knows we need more of that), but it just doesn't feel like it has its own audiovisual personality. - rulezadded on the 2025-08-17 19:29:14
- 8k Windows new Forms() by Stargaze
- There's a lot to like about this one, and I like how it's trying to place itself into the Moralhandcandy / Kkowboy genre - something you don't see often nowadays - almost successfully, and with the added complexity of it being size-limited. It doesn't QUITE manage (it doesn't have the design cohesion, some parts feel like "I had these effects lying around" and the chord pads sound like the battery in the synth is dying), but it's an admirable effort.

- demo Windows Drone Filler by Resistance [web]
- Man, this is a weird one.
There's clearly a shitton of work that went into it just for a filler, the engine seems to be capable of a ton of stuff (I think I spotted some temporal GI solution - ReSTIR maybe?), it's paced correctly and doesn't overstay its welcome, but then there's trees sticking through geometry, camera going through objects (and the camera looks like it was hand-recorded? some weird bumps on the path), the lighting seems really strange with the light cutting off right after the camera, and the whole thing is 400MB for what's effectively 2 minutes (40MB of which are shaders?! Not that that's significant but it just adds to my confusion.)
Like, I appreciate it _directionally_ in that there's clearly some serious asset- and engine work that went into it, but it would've needed juuuuuuust a little bit of care to be really really good. - rulezadded on the 2025-08-17 15:13:41
- 4k Windows soliloquy by erpholia
- The audio runs circles around the visuals which are basically "here's a glitchy plasma". Lack of visual progression absolutely does not warrant the 7 minutes of running time.

- 8k Windows DetritUs by ThePetsMode [web]
- Decent for a techno 4k but only has enough ideas for about 25% of the music length. :/
Could also use a vsync version cos it's tear-o-mania. - isokadded on the 2025-08-17 14:40:31
