- demo Windows Planet Loop by MadWizards [web] & Nah-Kolor [web]
- updating to 40.72 detonators helped, now the demo works on my setup, too.
and yes, this is really nice demo. on top of cool visuals i like especially the colors and synchronization with the keyframing. also the music fits this style pretty well.
only minus, as ryg and sagacity stated as well is the incoherence - but then again it's pretty common demos are incoherent so i don't mind. :) - rulezadded on the 2002-12-29 20:21:13
- demo Windows Planet Loop by MadWizards [web] & Nah-Kolor [web]
- didn't run with athlon xp1800 + win2k + gf2mx + 28.32 detonators. requires more than gf2mx (the readme was somewhat vague on the requirements) ?

- demo Windows a deepness in the sky by mfx [web]
- High quality dix version - Note! it's ~250Mb big, this kind of stuff doesn't pack very well with traditional video formats so we had to use very high bitrate to encode it. Sorry, modem/isdn users. :) Anyways now at least people without high end graphics cards can enjoy watching the demo...

- demo Windows dionysos by Calodox
- Rules big time! First I even thought the music was by Alec Empire until I heard Shodan made it - totally rules.
And people, get real. The compo size limit in megademo was 40Mb, and this one doesn't exceed it. What's the problem? - rulezadded on the 2002-12-17 14:36:29
- demo Windows Superjam Superheroes by Condense [web] & Mandarine [web]
- Stylissimo!

- demo Windows opium by Move
- Quite a big disappointment for me... Perhaps this would've been cool back in 1998 but now it's just not worth it. I liked the music, though.

- demo Windows raw confessions by Cocoon [web]
- Excellent modelling! Nice to see Cocoon in back in the circles and doing the stuff they are best in (Shad is still one of my fave 3d demos).
And for the "I don't have geforce" whiners - you simply can't do stuff like this on a old hardware. Demos are not like games that have to support all differend gfx cards and work on all possible configurations. - rulezadded on the 2002-12-16 10:46:29
- demo Windows a deepness in the sky by mfx [web]
- shiva, it helps with the point 1) - as i don't think majority of the people have gf3/4 but just about anyone should be able to play video files.
nevertheless you should still get the big screen and sound system :) - isokadded on the 2002-12-16 10:30:50
- demo Windows We are by Haujobb
- Ok.. seemingly on some Radeon cards this demo might crash or play really wrong. You can try running it in windowed mode (might help or then not), wait for a possible final release or go watch it with your friend who has a GeForce.
Hmm... anyways I think I'll make an exception and comment on an own group prod now.
As Thom said already this is quite polished demo but every piece don't still fit together. Now after watching "We Are" for quite many times I think it's not about anything itself would be bad quality (on the contrary most of the gfx are great) but it's more about missing a connection between parts. I also personally like the soundtrack by Xhale but it doesn't perhaps fit that well in this demo.
As for the repeatitive progression, this was also ment to be a sequel to We Took The Greenpill.
On the good side, I like the synchs alot and on a right state of mind this kind of flashy and quick changes gets easily hypnotizing. - isokadded on the 2002-12-16 10:26:17
- demo Windows a deepness in the sky by mfx [web]
- To experience what this demo is really about you need:
1) A fast computer (gf3/4 preferred)
2) A big screen
3) Massive soundsystem
For those who don't have any of the three elements above available wait for a final & high quality release as divx which Droid promised to release so also the people without sufficient hardware can watch it properly. - rulezadded on the 2002-12-16 10:02:40
