- would be a worthy recipient of the scene.org award for best 64k... in (1993).

- demo Windows fr-055: 828 by Farbrausch [web]
- just about saved from being horrible by a couple of flashes of almost greatness.
lets forget the "technical" issues - the same nasty alphablended white lowres-textured polygonal stuff sticking around that has blighted visualice's stuff for ages, ugly polygonal objects where they really don't fit (and no postfx to help smooth it out), bad textures, bad uv mapping, layers that dont really look good and a whole raft of other problems. and lets ignore the sound (which i pretty much did anyway - it does nothing for me).
my problem with it is on the artistic side. to me it feels old and stale - like a series of images taken from a bunch of movies and glued together with added pretentiousness. sorry, it gave me nothing.
as i said tho, saved by a couple of parts which did provide some strong imagary. - isokadded on the 2007-02-18 17:24:57
- 4k Windows Syltia by Bauknecht [web] & NecroStudios [web]
- it flowed very well for a 4k, the music was nice, it had quite a bit of content.. i just really dont like the effect/rendering style.

- demo Amiga AGA Kilofix by Illi Recentes ImperatoreS
- i dislike the 3d at the start (gfx-wise, i mean) - but otherwise it's a rather good demo. seems a lot better when it's in 2d/fx mode, tho.
btw - gotta admire dr doom for having that much skill as a coder _and_ an artist. :) - rulezadded on the 2007-01-11 13:30:43
- demo Amiga AGA Atari Falcon 030 Starstruck by The Black Lotus [web]
- it remains great work, but the ripping incident (which i'd like to hear cleared up, please, cos from where im sitting it looks like a frame by frame steal), and the way it looks on real hw has taken the shine off it a bit for me.
it's the blockiness of the skyboxes, i think. there's just too much of the 3d done on prerendered textures, and too little that is actually rendered realtime for me to be blindingly impressed by the rendering code (compared to when i thought some of the shadows, 3d except the foreground object, etc might be realtime - yea, naive i know).
it's still a fine piece of work from the guys, especially louie, though. :) i was just a lot more impressed before the ripping came to light and before i saw it on real hardware, talked to some amiga coders about it and so on. it looks a lot better on video where it smooths together a lot better. - isokadded on the 2007-01-05 11:17:45

- demo Windows Atomrave by Einklang.net [web]
- i really like the direction. great. all the little touches and stuff. enjoyable.
the rendering looked really out of date though, sadly - 5 years late and sub-64k. - rulezadded on the 2006-12-30 18:33:20

- 4kum4: why, because if it's a cracktro it instantly turns something sub-par into something superb?
