- 64k Windows droplet vs. ocean by SandS [web]
- The reflection-over-ocean effect is cool, but what else is there? Nothing, I'm afraid.

- 64k Windows Summerfrog by Fascination
- Comeback from an old PC group (remember Space Jam from Asm94?). Clean laid back intro, gfx you see in the screenshot are good, and some nice effects bring them into the Windows era. Hope to see more!

- 64k MS-Dos Fluid Motion by Valhalla
- Quality intro + music, good 3d in 64k for the time - masks, dolphins, submarines, and the bump-mapped cubes that really bumped. :) Too bad the final version with SB support was about twice as big.

- demo MS-Dos/gus assembler instinct by Gollum [web]
- Yep, this is definitely a little-known/underestimated demo. Maybe because it's so hard to get working (my Athlon 1.4, cache disabled, is the first PC on which I could see it all the way through!). $volkraq did a good job with the music, and the whole thing definitely has an old-school, but polished, feel to it.

- demo MS-Dos The Control by Coma
- Umm.. Dune?! Guess again..
One of my faves at the time. Music is a little more sane/on-key than Paimen, and some real video in color this time. Design isn't quite as consistent though. Running it on anything faster than a Pentium may produce humorous results. - rulezadded on the 2001-08-24 16:32:42
- demo MS-Dos Rotaliator by Dubius
- OK, Haze by Shock is a month older and also had 32-bit color, but Rotaliator made much better use of colors. BTW, what was the deal with using AMY.GIF (the girl-face from Autodesk Animator) as a texture? Kinda cheapened the demo a little. :)

- demo MS-Dos Haze by Shock!
- I should add that this could very well be the first demo to support 32-bit color, not Rotaliator as I once thought (correct me if there's an older one). But, to keep it fast on those oldschool PCs, they made it letterbox and took the vertical resolution down to 100 or 120 pixels. So it's not exactly a visual masterpiece. :)

- demo MS-Dos Haze by Shock!
- This one has a great soundtrack for those who like the pure "demomusic" style. It's a bit slower and more colorful than the other Shock demos of 1996.

- 64k MS-Dos/gus Jade by Shock!
- Nice intro, wouldn't run on my Pentium 2 but it's running again on my Athlon! Some 3d stuff, mostly 2d stuff, e.g. bumpmapped juliamorph, and spiraling light rays. Good music too.

- demo MS-Dos One by Shock!
- Kinda like State 808, but the effects are synched a lot better to the music - although it's shorter as a whole. The plane object doesn't really fit in. If you can still boot to DOS and like simple techno stuff, give it a whirl.
