- demo Windows fr-055: 828 by Farbrausch [web]
- holy shit.
this is new. this is a big deal... a revolution.
i can understand how the audience responded with stunned silence. it's not minimal, or for that matter, thematic. there is content, but no message. it's not an "alternative" to any certain type of demo. it takes everything from the past several years of demos, puts it in a blender, and returns it in a totally new form. effects, 2d, 3d.. everything about demomaking is in fact here, just in a strange way.. and not noisy so it disturbs you, but slow and ambient so it draws you in. i haven't stared at my screen like that in a long time. believe it or not, not just anybody can pull off something like this. visualice, i salute you.
p.s. have a subwoofer.
p.p.s. for the record, i hated chimera, and i'm fine with most "mainstream" (whatever the hell that is, anymore) effect-centric demos. - rulezadded on the 2007-02-22 01:46:48
- demo Amiga AGA Tour de Scene by Tulou [web]
- fresh style.. a nice reprieve from pc demos :)

- demo invitation Windows Explosive! by Traction [web]
- pretty dull and uninspired, but, decently quality i guess.. granted, i could probably do the same thing in werkkzeug :) music was, again, adequate, not up to lb's usual level of creativity.

- demo Windows No way back by Traction [web] & Ümlaüt Design [web]
- sorry, but changing camera every beat does not make dull effects any better.
preacher: nope, sorry.. i'm months behind in demo watching so i'm catching up with bp06 stuff now. :)

- demo Windows 1ShortBeep by CLRSRC [web]
- beautiful and post-modern. i guess it's for the better that it doesn't kick into a heavy drum beat.

- dentro MS-Dos Freedom CD Intro
- Ah, the days of CD compilation! This takes me back. Hornet got a lot of help making this.. dentro.. but it has American code and gfx, can you imagine? The music is awesome, and the 3D-to-2D writer sets the mood.
Anyway, I put this here because.. Freedom is finally free! It will be at scene.org in /pub/demos/compilations by this weekend.. both data and audio, plus cover art, disc art, and sticker art. Escape is already there. So after you're done with MindCandy 2, pull out your 486 or grab a copy of DOSBox, and let it be 1995 again. :) - rulezadded on the 2007-02-09 02:15:08
- 32k bbstro MS-Dos Lunatic Asylum BBS Intro (1) by Logic Design
- one of the nicer pc bbs intros back in the day. good fonts, logo, and adlib music in 16k.
