• dixan, well.. you see, this sprite is not a sprite in the sense that you can replace it with any random 16*16*4 block of pixels. the whole routine is optimised especially for this particular sprite, replacing it with a less ugly but more complex sprite would probably allow less sprites on screen, and some parts of the code would need to be rewritten too.

  i like earx' idea by the way (on-the-fly zip to diskimage). not only does it offer a solution to the file/diskimage debate that's acceptable to all sides, it will also prevent any further discussion about individual prods in the future. it really shouldn't be that hard to implement either, considering the emu's can already run zipped diskimages... :)
