The dream of all coders in the world. Really the best 64k for pc that I see. You must see it!

This intro is a must see. Great work of TBL coders.

3mb of music, 2 mb of gfx, or sth.. TBL jees. the sign of quality.

Very nice one! TBL quality demo. Fine visuals and empowering music!
when i've seen it at the big screen at THE PARTY (not bizarre!!!), i wasn't able to close my mouth for a while. someone next to me, said : " they should be disqualified - they're just too good !!"

this is a 64k milestone...although the colors suck a little bit. (oh-oh.did i wrote something blashpemic?)
added on the 2000-10-19 16:55:54 by cer cer
this is one of my favourite 64k intros - perhaps because it was the first production i saw after second reality. the music really kicks some ass, i think the track is even better than most commercial techno/goa music (well, i'm really not into that). the colors a slightly overdone, but anything else ist just epic. great fun to watch!

compared with nowadays coding technices kindof simple, but i really love it though the music rocks

This is what Crest meant with "Thumbs up!". Stash is, to date, the most powerful and action-packed 64Kb intro out there. The music keeps the insane pace going and when you think it's all over... surprise! Absolutely amazing.

The only 64Ks to date worth mentioning besides this masterpiece would be Heaven 7 and Stash's somewhat shorter predecessor, Jizz.

Get this. Really.

One of the first 64k intros having a real kickass softsynth soundtrack.. there had been others doing that way before but this one actually sounds good.

uglyness, stupid scenepoetry. argh.
sucks added on the 2002-01-06 10:51:41 by droid droid
done in 1997 (this automatically annihilates all arguments.. the technical aspects of this intro were mindblowing for its time, those of the product were not), not half as much scenepoetry as in the average replay production..

okay i agree the colors are awful, but this still is a milestone.

thumbs up for the ex-kings
rulez added on the 2002-01-23 10:20:54 by superplek superplek
Why are those colors awful? I think the textures fit this type of intro perfectly.

Im tired of people calling one color tint intro/demos stylish. Really tired even...

Fantastic intro!
rulez added on the 2002-01-23 12:30:29 by [self-ban] [self-ban]
i think it's a matter of taste.. i loved the ptct colorscheme, so i guess i'm not calling it awful because i'm a "design hippie"
added on the 2002-01-23 12:45:24 by superplek superplek
"Why are those colors awful?"

Rob, Superplek. I'll forgive you since you're both Dutch. :)

What comes to the intro it had technically some pretty impressive stuff at that time. So even if colors, texts and design sucks I can't give a thumb down for it.
added on the 2002-01-29 00:04:49 by melw melw
I must admit that for a 64kb the textures are great ! Better than many other 64kb.

Melw, tell me which 64kb has better colours ?
rulez added on the 2002-01-29 16:16:01 by sjaak sjaak
Sjaak: Well at least not PTCT. :)

Ok, ok. I know goa style intros are ment to have psychedelic goa colours. So it's not entirely TBL's fault and I could blame instead those Indian hippies who invented the whole damn thing.
added on the 2002-01-30 10:15:46 by melw melw
I'd rather watch psychedelic goa-colors and great code like in stash, than the average "i can't code so i'll just call it design" flatshaded intro/demo 'o' bullshit.

and besides, stash is a classic, so stfu :)

Don't like music and colors, but when I watched it for the first time it took me a while to understand how they did it.

still one of the best intros.
rulez added on the 2002-02-21 14:20:05 by a_lee_n a_lee_n
I didn't vote on this baby so far? Gosh!

Anyway, the greatest thing was when they showed the intro at TP7, the screen went black, everyone was applauding and cheering...

... sone lonely voice from the back of the hall shouted "part two!" ...

... everyone was laughing ...

... and then part two started. And the laughter was stuck in everyone's throats. It was just TOO unbelievable.

Stash definitely was a milestone, manifested the concepts of softsynths and the dutch color scheme(TM) in everyone's mind, and finally put an end to all those "hey, i can do marching cubes, too" intros. Definitely a thumbs up.

(and btw, i love it that people use to diss our productions in other prods' comments. just shows that we're famous, nothing more, nothing less *g*)

oh this is funny

"compared with nowadays coding technices kindof simple, but i really love it though the music rocks "

(in a comment far above this one)

i dare to say that only 10 to 20 percent of nowadays intros reach the amount of work and "technical insights" it took to make something like this (and still takes)
added on the 2002-09-16 17:52:31 by superplek superplek

Love this demo since long and decided to make a better Youtube for it too. It's bit upscaled for Youtube.

The first production who ever managed to make the audience cheer so loud that I had to use earplugs AFTER the intro was over.

Still kicks ass, after so many years! I remember when I saw this first time and realized it was only 64K, with all those effects and especially the music, it totally dropped my jaw and I'm still partially recovering it from the ground :D

TBL demos and intros are awesome. Magics on every platform. And the Stash is one of best intros i ever saw. And the soundtrack is the bomb. So great. <3
