  try this ;)
  speaking of modern cards/igfx: connecting monitor via digital interface (and via VGA on post-Ivy Bridge(?) Intel iGPU, not to mention HDMI->VGA converters - anything that's not a native VGA) would limit refresh rate to monitor default (i.e if display native timing is 1920x1080 60hz everything under DOS would run at 60hz, even textmode)

• "out of range" on both S3 and NVidia (well, 78hz is too much for standard VGA, don't forget to switch pixelclock to 25 MHz if 8px wide fonts are used :), works flawlessy in DOSBox. awesome trickery!
