The Nordlicht Demoparty 2025 official announcement: 25th - 27th JULY, Bürgerhaus Obervieland, Bremen, Germany
category: general [glöplog]
Cool. One week to go!
Small reminder that if you plan to arrive with a caravan or camper van, you should be able to find a free spot on the parking lot in front of the party building. However these spots are strictly for parking only! You're NOT allowed to actively camp there, meaning while probably nobody cares if you sleep inside your vehicle, you cannot put any items such as chairs or similar in front or around your vehicle! There is also zero access to electricity or water for your vehicles. This is an absolute no-go and we have to abide to these rules. Just mentioning this so you're aware of it and don't arrive with wrong expectations.
tl/dr: sleeping in your car / van / caravan / camper van? - nobody cares.
Build yourself at home around your vehicle? Please don't! Seriously!

oh, and while I'm at it. PLEASE don't leave anything of value to you inside your vehicles. Because such items are NOT SAFE in there.
Bring them inside the building instead, where we can lock them away if needed.
spelling fixes:
"abide by" and "build a home"
"abide by" and "build a home"

PLEASE DO NOT email us via Google or Microsoft accounts (gmail, hotmail etc.) because our host currently does not handle them well at all!!
Why is this so, isn't mail just mail? I ask because my address happens to be @gmail.com. I can upload the main content elsewhere but how would I signal you where to find it?
In recent months, big corporation email providers such as Google and Microsoft liked to block our private mailhost, which prevented us from replying to emails sent to us from hotmail, gmail, t-online and so on. So people would never receive our response mails as they were quietly discarded. We've since updated the mandatory dkim and spf domain entries to get around this issue, but in all honesty I still don't fully trust that the issue is fully resolved.
So, just to be on the safe side, I suggest submitting your entries from another mail provider which reduces the risk of your submission getting lost in transit (or our replies). It's only a week until the party now, so if you submit your stuff and don't receive a reply within a day or two confirming your submission, you should be worried! :)
In summary, using gmail or hotmail "probably" is fine now, but I would still recommend using another provider if you can.

@SunSpire thanks for the explanation.
Why is the Nordlicht 2025 party not on CSDb mentioned?
I don't have access to csdb (my account was deleted multiple times due to inactivity). Someone else there would have to create an event page for Nordlicht each year.
