Call me crazy but that logo is a child on all fours sucking a guy's dick. It's disgusting. Evoke's logos have always been fuck reads but this time, no, please no, please change it.

^ I think it could rather be seen as an adolescent instead of a child ...and after all this is an underground culture event, not a sunday school. I'm sure you'll get over it.

Just tried booking a hotel, but prices for the Evoke-weekend seem to be through the roof. About 350€ for 2 nights and breakfast at Leonardo, and Philero does not even offer 2 nights on that weekend anymore. A single night would be 180 EUR there as well. Other places are completely booked it seems. Is there some other large event on the same weekend?

Ok, just checked, there seems to be a music-festival the same weekend "Amphi Festival" with about 12-16K visitors... That could explain the hotel-situation.

Regarding the logo: I just asked a colleague to take a look at it and what did he see and he immediately said "He's sucking that guy off".

Maybe time for damage control? While I personally would still visit, I'd rather not buy a T-Shirt with that logo...

yeah, the logo interpretation jumped out to me instantly as well. I wouldn't be comfortable at all wearing it on a shirt :| evoke shirts are always great but this year I'll have to pass if it stays as it is.

Of course I didn’t design it intentionally for what you stated there to see. I didn’t have anything in mind except forms and abstract type. I also saw a lot of things there then - Animals for example. But never the blow job. I got told this interpretation at Revision from one and we just had a laugh about it.

Imho the fact that you all have this interpretation now is because the wolf is cried out. Just try to be open for other interpretations or accept the fact that there were no intentions for any from the beginning.

If you would know evoke designs you also know that the T-shirt will be a different thing… so if you weren’t disappointed by shirts in the past, have trust that it would stay the same way this year.

yeah, seems there's a big seminar and amphi festival, I guess that's the reason for the hotel craziness. I was lucky to still get a double room at ibis airport hotel for 90€/day.

If you are on a budget, similarly to the Airport hotel it might make sense to take the Train from Trrimbornstrasse to Troisdorf (20 Minutes) where there are still some cheaper hotels right next to the train station.
