damnit :/

i need to present "got papers" at a workshop at suomen pelimuseo next week, really bad if it would still be offline by then.

how about using the latest latest backup by archive.org? ;-)

yes, someone already helpfully suggested that, and that's what i'm gonna do. however, i'd like to be able to maintain the site further, or at least to get the latest backups from the webserver which i can't.

the things with backups is to have some *before* the webserver can't be accessed anymore 🙃
smartass

Should be back up. Will need to do some investigating what kind of attack caused this. Let me know in case there are more problems.

In future: for faster response time in case of problems, notify me on ircnet.

And yeah, I really need to add untergrund.net to some monitoring system for alerts.

Speaking of "got papers"...

Oct 13 23:20:00 unet4 suhosin[30249]: ALERT - script tried to increase memory_limit to 268435456 bytes which is above the allowed value (attacker '188.155.85.200', file '/home/unet_homes/gotpapers/pubhtml/wp-includes/functions.php', line 5584)

:)

(but the actual downtime appears to have been caused by some shitty crawler recursively crawling http://erbsen.untergrund.net/board3/portal.php, where each page load creates a shitload of SQL queries. Looks like that phpbb install hasn't been updated for 5 years...)

scamp, looks like the pop/smtp service is down, and has been for the past week, since the 13th. am i the only one or is it actually the case?

Will check.

It indeed was down since the SQL server problem last week. WTF. Why did nobody (including myself) notice and complain..?

Anyway, fixed now.

thanks for that. cheerios.

my mail client still sends the same error though, looks like it cannot connect to it.

What error are you getting?

probably something on my side, even if i didn't change anything in my settings since it stopped working at untergrund.net.
i pump mails from untergrund.net through gmail, through POP3.
what gmail gives me since the untergrund.net issue is the following:
Quote:
Connection timed out: There may be a problem with the settings you added. Ple...
- and no way to know what's written after this -notwrittenentirely- "Please".
not sure.

Had the same problem for a few days. Today everything worked again.

finally took the time to get myself on fixing this issue. i just had to "confirm" the same passwords that were already saved. go figure. scamp, as said, the issue was on my side, sorry for the hassle. thanks.
hfr, thanks.

I just realized something a bit odd. "https://www.untergrund.net" gets you the ordinary Untergrund info page while "https://untergrund.net" redirects to https://www.zxaaa.net/. Is this by design I wonder :-)

By selecting anything at ftp.untergrund.net I always get the message: "This file contains a virus or malware". Anybody knows what the problem is?

Your browser is the problem. It's called Google Safe Browsing and they want to protect you from anything suspicious, such as demos.
I got it... I didn't use Google Safe Protection, I just turned it off at Firefox safety settings. Now it works... :) Thanks.
