Quick question - why isn't there an "all" option for "platform" and "format"?

Thanks Gargaj for spotting it, Tom is working on it right now ;) Soon it'll be fixed.

Gargaj:
I see your demand for ALL in both cases!
My guess is it needed to be subdivided! :D

For real:
32k images is a lot, i am completely fine with the selections as they are now, atleast this doesn´t lead to false assumptions when looking at(&comparing_automatically) the graphics.
Gargajs request should be handled most-soonish, though, as he won´t stay the only one asking, just make your own lifes easier by just adding it! ;) (maybe like: "ALL (do not compare when watching!")

I assume you did know theres ArtCity@Bitfellas and just wanted to have another archive with a different approach?!!
This is cool - thanks for making it =)

Who needs museums and exhibitions now? ;)

@ISL: When your server is idle it should run optipng vs. pngcrush on those PNG screenshots. So many nice lossless compression features in those tools: palette optimization/reduction, brute force compression tweaks, etc. Just an idea to convert CPU idle times into moar storage capacity and less network load.
-Ohh.. and cheers for the site!

Now add an option to print one on a tshirt and reward the original artist with some money for that. ;)

Hello, I'm Tom and I created "Retro Image Gallery". I just registered here so I can answer all the questions you have and fix all the problems :)

@Gargaj
The initial thought was that people should not compare images from different platform and different modes. For example PETSCII image from C64 doesn't look as great as an Amiga image. However I changed the code and now you can see all the pictures from all the platform together:

@Holid
Optimizing images is a good idea, thanks. I didn't think of it before because the server has lots of HDD space and the bandwidth is not limited. However optimizing images will make the site load faster for people who have a slow Internet connection. So this feature will be added.

Cool, there's stuff I made in that. Good job.
Cool!
Maybe you can add the ones on my old unmaintained ST website: http://abrobecker.free.fr/STart/STart.html

A small update comment so you know the gallery isn't dead ;)

Some of the things improved since my last comment here:

- New platforms added. Now you can also see images from MSX, MS-DOS, Sam Coupe and more
- Thousands of new images were uploaded
- There is the Hall of Fame where you can read more about presented artists
- You can use online converters to convert images between formats. For example you can convert PNG to KLA
- Multi-screen images are shown as animations to better mimic how they look on real hardware
- Website is now available in Swedish, German and Polish
