SFWM. My first dog was getting sick when reaching 13 years. It was just lying around, not being able to do one step forward anymore. But it was alive and happy and thats the point in my mind to not just putting it out of sight in the waste. Sudden, after almost two years it stand up again and was some months later even able to jump in cars for itself! After another two years the dog died realy unespected from one second to another on a nice summerday outside in nature.

Nectarine was a community driven website and not someone's private net radio. Also, the fact that some people seem to support the shutdown of a demoscene website so eagerly, makes me feel pretty awful.

Asked about it and the Nectarine rebuild team seems to be still waiting if the former admin does something as he hinted while making some preparations for the future at the same time. AFAIK there is a rather decent backup of the song database and the site interface itself has been shared from the beginning as it is free software (also used by CVGM radio) but for instance forum & comment data is missing if I got it right.

A good question that I immediately thought of when the Nectarine server were shut down (btw, the old nectarine streams are still running though we cannot make requests).
It is of course possible that some Nectarine users would switch to Bitjam (or to SceneSat) at some point. But currently they are hoping that they would get their old favorite song lists, song comments, forum posts and traditional interface back.
Bitjam has no equally handy webchat as Nectarine it seems? This would need a fix at least (though I prefer IRC myself). And even if everything would work in theory, it is not clear that people would feel it to be similar enough or to give them the right vibes...
As long as it's called Nectarine and plays Nectarine jingles.
