I understand the context etc. However, I also happen to be a Russian and I am offended to see this kind of comments, esp. when this is coming from a gloperator. Havoc, you may be a nice guy in the real life etc etc, but this is not on. Seriously.

I have talked to Havoc and I understand his (at this point pretty extensive) frustration. If he would've said "Russian ZX scene", it would've been accurate.

Let me put it this way - of all the site, the fixme thread is probably the most sacrosanct where there is absolutely no place for juvenile slapfights, because it's where people actually try to keep the prod archive accurate. From what Havoc told me (I don't frequent the thread) this has been repeatedly violated. As a result, we're closing in to zero tolerance on "Russian ZX drama", the results of which is probably gonna offend you a lot more.

So yeah, if you're offended, perhaps start looking at the reasons first.

Gargaj, havoc's problem _is not_ the Russian ZX scene and this is why I find your comment almost equally offensive. I am Russian and I make demos for Spectrum, so I must be a part of the Russian ZX scene. And frustration that you referred to, the squabbling and quarrelling, it affects me too, in fact, it affects me _more_, because I have to constantly prove to people that I am not bonkers, in addition to having to prove all other, more regular demoscene-related things.

Today, there is a sizeable part of the Russian ZX scene that is deeply unhappy with the behaviour of the few people who just won't stop no matter what. They do not listen, others tried talking, I tried talking. I can understand that you don't want to understand the intricacies of who did what etc, but what can people like me do, what can I do?

At the same time, this is not the first Pouet drama and they are not the first individuals who caused troubles. I do not seem to remember anyone making suggestions what French must do or not do, or what Germans must do or not do, or what Dutch must do or not do for that matter. So, make no mistake, Havoc's comment is clearly racist.

What you can do is not get caught up on sloppy language and terminology people on your side of the argument (your side, right?) are using - you know exactly what Havoc meant when he said what he said.

introspec: You're reading way too much into that statement, I even fixed a problem reported by another Russian (nyuk) in that same batch. So not just by context but also systematically it can be determined that I was talking to 2 specific Russian individuals. Also, to the best of my knowledge "Russians" is not a race but a term for all inhabitants of the Russian nation.
