Last post about rez and voxel stuffs

category: residue [glöplog]

For all I care, Rez could be a nazi or anywhat if he pleases, I don't judge him, but I can't stand he:
- claims he is impartial by saying I should not speak of social movements.
- he in the same times makes "best efforts to ban me and blacklist me from any forums / sites of the demoscene" according to his own words.

List of things nystep, rez and kaneel did for me on the demoscene.fr that started 18 monthes ago:

At first, no one was talking politics on demoscene.fr, the site was growing OK with about 10 current writers.
Then nystep came, with thread titled like "It will not please everybody", claming usual right winged stuffs.
From that moment, I couldn't "shut up", and started to reply nystep's bullshits. Then I discovered how most people there were ignorant of the way their country was going nazi, and posted some usefull notes, telling facts.

Then usually it got like this:
1. I post.
2. rez come and claim I'm unrelated, sometimes says racist or antisocial things, and how I should be banned and how my post has to be deleted, usually without reading it.
3. kannel (or an other operator) create a special forum section called "dustbin", that can't be read, and put my posts inside.

BB Image

example:

For example, a student came on demoscene.fr for a sociology thesis about anarchic practices on the demoscene and in gfx scene, searching for documents. (He came by himself, using the word "anarchy" himself on the main forum, I didn't know him, but extraordinarly, some people think french demomakers are the people to contact for that even if most swanks between them are deeply right winged. )
Then most people at demoscene.fr came with the usual non-analysing stuffs, and I suggested some very interesting document from the very independant and serious LEAP/E2020 european think tank (the map3, political anticipation ), stating that people like demomakers and their community practices would be determinant in changing politic in the coming years.( that is real serious study with numbers and all) A top doc for a thesis ! What happended according to you ?

Almost Instantly, rez appeared (when he didn't post on demoscene.fr for monthes, and like he does regularly after I post a word of politic) ... he just claimed loudly that my post was "not demoscene related" and that I should be banned bla bla - and what happen then ? Kaneel or an other demoscene.fr op detached all my posts of the thread down to the dustbin, obeying stupidly rez and i'm sure none of them read the document I linked. . Of course none of them did, they would have to admit it was completely on the subject, and most of all more usefull than the usual arte kind of stuffs. For information, the guy never appeared again, and never had the documents. I was erased.

What the fuck ? Forbiding 2 people interested in sociology to exchange information on a demoscene site !
This is exactly an act AGAINST freedom of speech , and fits 100% with the voxel stuffs.

Here is the kind of text people like rez and kaneel are desperatly trying to avoid:
Quote:

Young Europeans: a generation in search of a collective destiny somewhere between heroism and depression

Young Europeans are at the forefront of enduring the consequences of the global systemic crisis. Following the Arab Spring’s example, they are spontaneously protesting en masse with similar demands, when the promised future seems unbearable to them. The analysis of the forces of change at the core of this particular generation leads us to place them as a pivot in anticipation of fundamental social changes at European level by 2030. If this change is certain, extremist drift is possible in the place of social restructuring. It is a collective destiny that this generation will shape and, therefore, one of the keys in the speed of power sharing with the generation of babyboomers.
[...]
The values of new social practices

These values generate a behavior set at odds with current practices. First we are seeing increasingly close social relationships. This explains the still growing enthusiasm for the use of social networking tools, which started with the bulletin board and Usenet forums and have improved with every technological input and, in doing so, always welcome more members to these networks. For its users, isolation, withdrawal, individuality, but also selfishness have gradually given way to the circle, the team, the community, even if virtual.
Individuality is losing its primacy in a closed world, increasingly close-knit, with finite limits, and now felt as such. The globalization of computer networks has been a key vehicle in the expansion of social awareness.

Then the user assimilates the principles of the network’s workings and overlays them on his social practices to
make them more efficient and transparent. The resulting characteristics are then:

- The refusal of borders, the network hasn’t any. Cultures mix, encouraged by the desire for openness. Everyone
can be beautiful on the Internet; exchanges are easier which develops the creation of matches, unlikely until now.
- Mobility made possible by the multiplication of internet access points and widespread satisfactory connection
speeds. My virtual social network can follow me on my travels, straight away reasserting itself. Migration is seen
as natural (the Erasmus generation). Young Europeans were twice as likely as others (49% against 25%) to have
travelled abroad in 201015.
- By extension, Europe is increasingly seen as a single community; we must draw a
parallel here with the absorption of French regionalism after the revolution.
l People’s comparability, i.e. a level plane. This is reflected in the younger generations by the primacy given to
the community, interdependence, egalitarianism, fairness. In the following survey the EU average in favor of the
equitable division of wealth was 52% :

[...]

“The present isn’t a past in power; it’s the moment of choice and action. [...] There are
few virtues sadder than resignation; it transforms contingent dreams, projects which
were first formed like willpower and freedom, into fantasies.”

The younger generations prefer the means of defensive resistance: boycotts, civil
disobedience, but they can also take the path of hacktivism. ...

to finish the flamme here: know that I'm chased by rez, kaneel, nystep and some other minority of french sceners just because I 'm used to quote texts like that.

Shut up, you are embarrassing yourself Krabob. Get a life.

Go write a Hugi article about it.

I may be embarrassed by you, but by doing so you just proove my point. (you are french, you are right winged, so the text is a problem to you, so you want me to stop, of course you just have a line, of course with no arguments.)

krabob: you bring boring political crap to a demoscene site and wonder why people bash you? Take it somewhere else, they were right to consider a ban :)

Krabob. I spent some parties with you. I really enjoyed your dedication to the Amiga and your (too few) attemps on windows. But don t you think you should review your priority odrder (at least for pouet). First do demos (or talk about it) and try to contribute to the overall demoscene production and then fool around. I really feel you are doing the way round.

I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the ban your right to say it.

I love how people use this bbs as if it was the only place on the net to get information/help or to communicate. Guys, this is a demoscene site, there are at least 1000 places on the net which are better places to talk about cooking/sex/crime/rl/whatever than this one..

this also hold for politics. go and argue somewhere else, would you?

That is not "boring political crap".

You have these social practices yourself if you're here and have done demo with people all around europe, and you are at the better place to realize it. Absolutely no other analysis anywhere and certainly not a political party anywhere would agree with this text. It is a completely new analysis and a fondamental text , you all here got to understand: This should be a revelation for any of you: the practice of demomaking, of spreading, of partying , contributed to change the vision of people on the country where they live, the way they see art, the way they share, everything. We can realize with this text (read the full one) that our behaviour as demomakers may be itself a key solution for the future and the crisis still to come.

so this and, say, 30% of the bbs threads here are directly scene related? :)

Go to a forum for politics and talk about demos instead.

Ok with you ...
"the practice of demomaking, of spreading, of partying , contributed to change the vision of people on the country " ... might be
But you are doing none of those things... you are a skilled coder, you could express yourself in a way that fit better this type of site.
That s all we are saying.

Defiance: I agree with the principal, but sometimes you have to ask people to say it elsewhere (or you'll end up defending spammers from the ban too ;)

krabob: you need to realise that this is a demoscene site, people come here for entertainment and discussion of demo related stuff. Some other time and place that might be an interesting thing to read and discuss, but here it's boring political crap. To me, anyway - and to other people judging by the reactions :)

defiance: this also hold for the (endless) fun-threads.
but for me it heaviliy depends on how many "spam" topics you open, and if you get on the nerves of many people it should be a clear sign for you to stop it and shut up for a moment.
also what nytrik and psonice said. and all the others. multiple times. shut up, it's going on our nerves.

oh, man.. why did i even post. i should have known, that whatever i write, people just read there what they want, and what fit's best in their view of things. that has to be the deeper meaning of don't feed the trolls.
