It's only one more step in DFox's scene monopoly plans!
*whistles*
TRSAC is now a certified SCENEPOINTS party!
Did you already fill out the application and authorized the money transfer?
No, we just did an ad hoc certificate!
I am now a certified scene party, and your mom is invited!
I tried scenepoints™ and as a non influenced third party I can honestly praise their enterprise readiness, the above average support quality and an overall 23% increase in our ROI for this scenester.
looks good on trsac homepage
Really hope thats a joke...
Really hope thats a joke...
how dare you imply comedy
according to urban dictionary:
scene points
an elaborate system for calculating popularity commonly joked about among scenesters and scenester wannabes. everybody know what they are but no one will actually admit they exist.
for example, these things give you scene points:
-bandanas
-straight edge
-veganism
-black hair over face
-collecting vinyl
-having obscure band merch
-wearing tight pants
-being friends with bands, promoters, etc.
these things make you lose scene points:
-wearing volcom, zero, hurley, etc.
-liking good charlotte
-asking for an autograph
-driving (scene kids walk/take the bus)
-having anything to do with rap
-getting a tan
so far, i think kebby is winning!

i dont get it.
...is this a real thing?
Very much so!
8x8 points on C64Scene?
So will we also get funky club cards with our handles printed on them? There could be also a tier system for the cards: platinum ones go to top groups and people (let's say you need to have won three major parties), gold and silver cards to normal sceners then there could be like a bronze basic card for ghettosceners and people who only do raster bars and sinus scrollers.
Nothing would spell "elite" like whipping out a platinum scenepoints card at the Revision döner stand to get a 50 cent discount.

Preacher: That's exactly the kind of thinking the scenepoints overlords are trying to inspire in all of us!
I don't get it, but I'm in fact very interested in complementary money systems that promote fields where markets fail, like e.g. the elder care system "fureai kippu" in Japan, where people earn time instead of actual money (1 hour work means 1 hour you can save to buy elder care when you need it in the future or just give it to your parents now, which makes sense if you live in a different part of the country).
That website here just delivers too little information. Let me try an interpretation: Say, you are at a "scenepoint-certified" event. And they have, say, 10 productions, 50 visitors etc. So this party would "create" "scene money" of, lets just say, 60 scene points. Would this money then be distributed to the visitors according to what they did on the party? In what way?
And what would be the implications of that? More productions? More fun entries? More people going to parties who couldn't afford so before? And in the end, it's clear that the rent for party halls and other costs are paid in normal money so there is no real circuit here. If someone gets a subsidy it has to be withdrawn/added somewhere else in this system.

Preacher, that made my day. Now I can fall asleep with a grin on my face.
Well, as long as this Scenepoints idea doesn't end up in "group bailouts" and "votekey naked short selling" I'd say: roll with it.
nighty night
it's not freecoins anymore!
i meant breakpoints..
Earn Scenepoints by bringing bacon.
i heard scenepoints are made of bacon. scene-bacon.
IT'S LIKE THE MOST CLEVER IDEA, BUT NOT.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BITCOINS!?
